You can do this experience throughout the year. The coldest season is from November to February, while from March to June the weather gets a little warmer. The rainy season runs from July to September.

The weather may vary a little depending on the season in which you do this experience. Between October and February the temperature varies between 13 and 20°C. Between March and May the temperature rises a little, reaching up to approximately 26°C.

The experience begins in Mexico City. The meeting point is in the Condesa neighborhood, corner of Vicente Suarez Ave. and Michoacan Ave. in front of Michoacan market, however you must confirm the meeting point with the guide through the chat of your reservation.

No medical or vaccination requirements are necessary for this experience; however, we recommend good health, especially respiratory and cardiac health.

What happens if I get sick or injured during the trip and I can&#x27;t go on?

During your experience it is essential to notify your guide as soon as possible of any discomfort or eventuality that occurs, so they can assist you and give you the necessary support since they have knowledge and certificates of first aid. During the tour you have insurance against minor accidents with a coverage of $300.000 mxn.

What currency do you recommend I bring? Where can I change?

The currency of Mexico is the Mexican Peso ($, MXN). You can exchange dollars at the airport, banks or exchange houses. Some commercial establishments accept international credit and debit cards, you can also find ATMs where you can withdraw money. We recommend to always have some cash on hand.

The experience does not include international or domestic flights, personal expenses, meals and beverages not mentioned. Regarding extra expenses, we recommend bringing approximately $25 usd for transportation expenses before and/or after the experience.

The groups are small, normally the experience is from 6 to 12 people approximately.

This experience includes 2 lunches, 1 breakfast, 2 lunches and 1 dinner, the lunches are protein snacks, while the meals are homemade, with typical regional dishes and fresh ingredients.

During the tour you have lunch included, however, if you wish to dine upon arrival in Mexico City you can find well served meals between $7 and $15 usd.

The accommodation during this experience is in a rustic cabin in the camping area of Corral de Piedra or similar - shared cabin for 5 to 14 people, depending on availability and group size, the bathroom is also shared.

The minimum age recommended for this adventure is 14 years old, minors have a regular rate. 
The experience is recommended for people up to 65 years of age who are in good physical condition.

Coverage on your cell phone during the experience is limited, so it is only available on very few stretches. There is no WiFi.

It is only possible to charge electronic devices at the lodge, however it is advisable to bring extra batteries or external chargers for safety.

The day starts at 7:00 AM. You must arrive on your own at the meeting point in Colonia Condesa, corner of Vicente Suarez Ave. and Michoacán Ave. in front of Michoacán market.

You will be back at the meeting point at approximately 4:30 PM, where the services end, so the transfer to the hotel or lodging place is on your own.

What physical condition do I need to complete this experience?

Accepted Answer

Hiking through the forest on the slopes of the Nevado de Toluca is somewhat demanding, however, it is necessary to be in good physical condition. During the first day you walk 19 kilometers, while the second day you walk 17 kilometers. 
It is recommended for people who do physical activity at least 3 times a week. 
It is not recommended for pregnant women, people with cardiac or respiratory problems and injuries in their limbs, neck and back.

Do I need travel insurance? What should my policy cover?

It is not necessary to have a special insurance. During the tour you have an insurance against minor accidents that covers up to $300.000 mxn.

Do I need any special equipment? What kind of clothing do I need?

Accepted Answer

Long socks, comfortable tennis shoes or boots that protect the ankle, T-shirt preferably Nylon or synthetic, comfortable pants (not jeans), light windbreaker, raincoat, gloves, toiletries, towel, sunglasses with UV protection, sunscreen, hat, sleeping bag, two changes of clothes. Optionally you can bring trekking poles and camera.

What size backpack or suitcase do you recommend I bring?

It is recommended to carry a comfortable and light backpack with only what is necessary. The loan of a 10 to 15 liter backpack is included, although you can bring your own backpack if you wish.

Do I need a visa to enter the country?

Accepted Answer

It is necessary to check directly with your country&#x27;s embassy to confirm if there are any visa requirements to visit Mexico. This will depend on your nationality. It is also important that the passport has at least six months of validity from the return of the trip. It is essential to have a passport in good condition and valid for at least 6 months from the date of return.
