The menu on Kilimanjaro is designed to ensure your food intake matches your level of exertion. It will provide you with a good balance of protein, carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables. When you are at altitude you could start to feel nauseous and your appetite may be suppressed, so the meals prepared at high altitude usually contain more carbohydrates and less protein to help you to digest your food. Your meals will be prepared by your cooks on Kilimanjaro and the food will be carried by your porters.

  • Day 1 Arrive In Kilimanjaro International Air Port

      Arrive In Kilimanjaro International Air Port

      Arrive anytime at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). We will arrange a private transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to Mbugani Hotel , We will gather in the hotel for a pre-climb briefing and an equipment check. We will also confirm you have the appropriate mandatory medical coverage and travel insurance. The Kilimanjaro trekking begins and end at moshi.

  • Day 2 Moshi To Materuni Waterfalls To Moshi

      Moshi To Materuni Waterfalls To Moshi

      Around 20 -30 minutes outside of Moshi are Materuni waterfalls. As this trip is so close by it is ideal for those people with limited time but who would still like to see some of the nature and beauty that this region of Tanzania has to offer. These falls are smaller than the previously described Ndoro, but still pretty impresive at 150 meters high and definitely a sight worth seeing.

      From Materuni Village we will walk some 30 minutes to the waterfall. The walk itself is extremely interesting, as you will see some smaller waterfalls and lots of waterways which are part of the irrigation system of the local farmers who grow coffee, bananas and many other fruits and vegetables.

      At the waterfall, you can even refresh in the cool and crystal clear water donโ€™t forget to bring your swimwear! Here you will also break for lunch before doing a short tour of Materuni village to see the typical life of the Chagga tribe. The village, located at a height of around 1300 m (4300 ft) above sea level is set within a dramatic landscape of high rises and deep valleys, all covered by tropical rain forest...in afternoon we return to moshi town and prepared for next day for climbing mount kilimanjaro. dinner and overnight at Mbugani hotel

  • Day 3 Hotel To Mandara Hut

      Hotel To Mandara Hut

      After breakfast and briefing, drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (about 1 hour), register and commence the climb. Walk through the rainforest to the Mandara encampment. A side trip to Maundi Crater is a good way to see the surroundings including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. In the rainforest, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, and Colobus monkeys.

      Mandara Hut To Horombo Hut

      You leave the glades of the rain-forest and follow an ascending path on the open moorlands to the Horombo encampment. Views of Mawenzi and the summit of Kibo are amazing. Look for giant lobelias and grounsels. You may begin to feel the affects of the altitude. dinner and overnight in horombo hut

  • Day 5 Horombo Hut โ€“ Zebra Rocks โ€“ Horombo Hut

      Day three is an acclimatization day. We suggest hiking all the way to Mawenzi Hut to allow for maximum acclimatization. The hike will increase your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak, and also reward you with magnificent views of Kibo. Return to Horombo for a late lunch. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at Horombo.

      Ascending, we now pass the last watering point, walking onto the saddle of Kilimanjaro between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. Vegetation begins with upper heathland but then disappears into โ€œmoonscapeโ€. Dinner, rest, and prepare for summit climb.

  • Day 7 Kibo Hut To Summit To Horombo Hut

      Kibo Hut To Summit To Horombo Hut

      Very early in the morning (midnight to 2 am), commence the climb to the summit on steep and heavy scree or snow up to Gilmanโ€™s point located on the crater rim. Continuing, we now ascend to Uhuru Peak, which is the highest point in Africa. There are unbelievable views at every turn. Have your picture taken at the summit to show your friends and family. From here we descend, stopping for lunch and a rest at Kibo before continuing on to the Horombo encampment.

  • Day 8 Horombo Hut To Moshi
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Horombo Hut To Moshi

      After breakfast, a steady descent takes us down through moorland to the Mandara Hut. Continue descending through lush forest path to the National Park gate at Marangu.

      At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy).

      A vehicle will be waiting for you at Marangu gate to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi Hotel is included (about 1 hour).

  • Day 9 Departure

      Departure

      This day left for your next destination. If you have safari, then might be used to beginning your safari or fly to Zanzibar or fly back home. Our vehicle will be ready to take you to the airport at your time.
