      Day 1

After soaring over the Dalmatian archipelago in the eastern Adriatic, youโ€™ll arrive at Split airport and be whisked to your hotel to be greeted by your Work.Life.Travel guide.

While traveling in style to your charming accommodation, youโ€™ll have the chance to take in the eclectic scene of orange tile roofs, classical Habsburg architecture, and exotic Mediterranean flora. Once youโ€™ve unpacked your bags, step outside and get some fresh air as you hit the streets for a glimpse of the Balkans forgotten glory. Your hotel is perfectly positioned in Splitโ€™s city center with all the best bits at your doorstep.

Itโ€™s just a short stroll to the 4th Century Diocletian Palace, a one-time Roman retirement villa that now comprises the cityโ€™s historic heart. Nearby youโ€™ll explore the cultural treasures such as the Temple of Jupiter tucked away in the open-air atrium of this remarkably well-preserved Roman ruin.

As sunset falls over the rippling tide of the Adriatic, youโ€™ll join your new band of travel companions for an unforgettable welcome dinner. Besides the company of like-minded travelers, the cuisine will be the highlight of the evening. Youโ€™ll be served up a one-of-a-kind Mediterranean meal with an eclectic blend of flavors traditional to the Ottomans, Italians, Hungarians, and Silk Road merchants.

  • Day 2 Day 2
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 2

Grab your new friends for breakfast before setting off into this seafaring town. Stroll through the little alleys, chat with the locals, and grab some local crafts and souvenirs before taking a seat in one of the many cozy cafes dotted along the promenade. Drink in the sights, along with a cafรฉ, of the ferries floating on by the Adriatic Sea and the people drifting about.

After a leisurely morning, we will take a walk and acquaint ourselves with the fascinating history and clashing cultures of this former Byzantine, Ottoman, and Dalmatian town. Afterwards, be sure to get your taste buds ready because we will be spending the evening in one of the most refined and celebrated olive oil makers of the city to indulge in a unique Work.Life.Travel experience: an olive oil tasting paired with delectable meat with local bread and cheese.

  • Day 3 Day 3
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 3

Wake up early and enjoy your breakfast, before youโ€™re whisked away on a catamaran to the island of Hvar. Once there, we will check you in to your hotel and take care of your luggage so you can jump on a luxury sailboat to cruise the turquoise waters of the bays, inlets, and islands between Split and Hvar. Youโ€™ll feel a million bucks as you travel in style to our first destination of the day.

Donโ€™t forget your swim gear! Your first stop is the Green Cave, an enigmatic cove at the southern tip of Ravnik Island. Those with a sense of adventure can take a dip or snorkel in the crystal-clear waters. Swim through the twin archways to snap a mythical โ€œselfieโ€ in the eerie sheltered caves. Relax on the sun-deck as we head west to the Blue Cave. In contrast to its Green cousin, the Blue Cave is a sheer limestone cliff with small caves that reward daring travelers with one of the worldโ€™s most beautiful natural phenomenon. Inside, light floods in from the small opening in the roof, casting an otherworldly blue light onto the surroundings that cloak this natural outcropping in mystery.

We emerge from the cave to set off for the small fishing village of Komiza on the island of Vis. As we coast toward the harbor, youโ€™ll be in awe of the impressive Church of Saint Nicholas, nestled above quaint harbor homes on a hill draped with grapevines. Youโ€™ll have ample time to stretch your legs and explore the rich history of this 12th Century fishing outpost. Make sure to taste the local delicacies at one of the many seaside cafes.

We then return to the trendy and luxurious island of Hvar, regarded as โ€˜the new St. Tropezโ€™. After touring the picturesque harbors, your Work.Life.Travel guide will take you to the uber cool Hula Hula bar, where the water laps at the edge of the stone patio perched on the edge of the sea. Itโ€™s all about good vibes as you watch one of the best sunsets and groove to the music while enjoying a drink or two. Still have some energy? Head over to the private island that houses the Carpe Diem Hvar club where some of the best international DJs come to perform and spin all night long.

  • Day 4 Day 4
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 4

Tired from too much sun from your sailing excursion? Did you dance last night until the sun came up? Lucky for you, todayโ€™s start is a leisurely one! After a delicious breakfast, take some time to decompress.

Explore Hvarโ€™s harbor-side esplanades and winding medieval streets at your own pace. If youโ€™ve feeling like stepping into history, head up to the fortress. If youโ€™re less than enthused about a long walk or desperately in need of some โ€œhair of the dogโ€, head over to one of Hvarโ€™s stunning beaches to relax and soak up the sun. If youโ€™re feeling especially active, take to the waters and enjoy some of the many optional watersport activities ranging from hitting the depths of the ocean for a snorkeling adventure to a tranquil sea kayaking excursion.

  • Day 5 Day 5
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 5

After breakfast, we will take a boat over from Hvar to the immaculately preserved capital city of Dubrovnik. Once known as the Republic of Ragusa, the city of Dubrovnik is an exemplary depiction of the Balkanโ€™s history of overlapping occupations, rich peacetime culture, and stunning seaside architecture. Youโ€™ll hit the streets of Old Town where your Work.Life.Travel guide will show you some of the landmarks that have made this city a cinematic darling in recent years.

If youโ€™re a Game of Thrones fan, youโ€™re sure to get a sense of dรฉjร  vu as you walk the perimeter of Dubrovnikโ€™s city walls. Rising to impenetrable heights of more than 80 feet, the 7th Century structure made its appearance in the film while shooting the movie scenes of the Eastern capital of Qarth and the Kingโ€™s Landing, as well as the upcoming and eagerly anticipated Star Wars Episode VIII film. Youโ€™ll have the opportunity to sneak in some fan photos fit for a khaleesi. So make sure you have your camera at the ready for the behind-the-scenes action.

The afternoon is at your leisure, marvel at the prevalence of Venetian and Hungarian history on a self-guided tour throughout the city.

  • Day 6 Day 6
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 6

Today, you have the day to spend as you please. Dubrovnik has no shortage of incredible sights, and one of these is the visible Lokrum Island only a short ferry ride away. Jump on a boat to reach this island to visit ruins of an 11th century Benedictine monastery. Make sure to keep your eyes, and your camera, ready for the many peacocks roaming freely about this magical slice of paradise. Or climb to the remains of the French Fort Royal, which provides excellent views of the walled city of Dubrovnik.

If your feet need a break, return to Dubrovnik and sunbathe at one of the exquisite beaches or take a seat at the cliffside Buza Bar for a drink while watching the cliff divers take the daring 25 meters plunge into the waters. The sunset view from here is to die for!

  • Day 7 Day 7
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 7

Today we rise early to begin the picturesque trek to the ancient Ottoman city of Mostar. On the way, we stop in Trebinje where you will explore the Tvrdos Monastery, a 15th Century Serbian Orthodox church compound. Youโ€™ll be welcomed by the resident monks who will indulge you with their secret process to making their internationally prized wine before treating you to a tasting. A Bosnian lunch follows at a traditional and authentic restaurant. After conversation and scrumptious food, youโ€™ll say your goodbyes to our generous hosts and board your luxury transit north.

On the journey winding your way into the city of Mostar, youโ€™ll see artifacts of the Ottoman occupation. Weโ€™ll stop at the ancient fortified town of Pocitelj. This is one of the most picture perfect architectural ensembles in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so donโ€™t forget your camera!

As you arrive at your final stop in Mostar, literally translating to "a bridge protector." See for yourself how Stari Most represents a literal and figurative symbol of the bridge of religion and culture. From the orthodox churches and 16th century mosques to the foil between the small, geometric, Turkish architecture and the Serbian influencesโ€ฆthe multi-ethnic melting pot has much to offer.

This is the Balkanโ€™s most celebrated bridge and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the clashing cultures within the architecture and ancient market streets filled with lively trinket sellers as you set off for dinner with your travel companions.

  • Day 8 Day 8
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Nature is calling! Today we answer the sirensโ€™ call. Among the most fascinating features of the Herzegovinian region are the sparkling waterfalls of Kravice. Your guide will point out local flora and fauna so keep your eyes peeled. Upon arriving, dip your toes in the cool waters and swim up to the gushing waterfalls or lay down a blanket and relax in the sun. Enjoy a packed lunch and an ice-cold beer as we take in this natural wonder.

In the evening, we return to Mostar for the night. Meet up by the Neretva River to relax or grab a drink while enjoying the view.

  • Day 9 Day 9
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 9

Wear your sturdy shoes today, as we will start the morning exploring the countryside by foot. We begin with a drive to Lukomir village, Bosniaโ€™s highest and most isolated mountain village. The stunning hilltop enclave retains a fairy tale medieval charm with thatched roof huts and dirt roads leading to modest homes. This is a unique look into Europeโ€™s past, as traditional dress is still worn and the lifestyles of the Dinaric highlanders are still practiced.

After meeting the local people and trying some tasty Bosnian coffee, you will enjoy the fresh air and the pretty wildflower-dappled hillsides on a day hike up to to Lukomir Village. Donโ€™t forget to take in the awe-inspiring view of Rakitnica Canyon, this is one not to be missed! Not a hiker? Let us know and we will arrange an adrenaline-pumping canyoning or rafting tour.

Take a break from the frenetic pace of city life to enjoy regional delights at a traditional lunch in one of the modest wooden homes within the community. Prepared by a local family youโ€™ll have the opportunity to find out firsthand from the villagers how they live in this beautiful, yet challenging environment.

After saying goodbye to the fascinating Dinaric people, we head back to Sarajevo.

  • Day 10 Day 10
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 10

Sarajevoโ€™s history is steeped in bloodshed and war. This capital of Bosnia has been the site of much of the destruction during one of the longest seizes in modern warfare. As you take a walking tour of this city, you will pass by the Latin Bridge, a relic from the Ottoman empire, that was the scene of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand which arguably began World War I. Despite its scarred past, the changing landscape of this city is noticeable in the many modern buildings being erected throughout, such as the Avaz Twist Tower.

Afterwards, have the evening to explore this former Yugoslavic town at your own pace. Have a cevapi, a traditional Bosnian kebab, served with sour cream, onions, and somun, a local pita bread. But leave some room for dinner. Tonight, we enjoy a delicious last feast with the setting sun in this stunning capital that stands at the crossroads of Europe. Raise a glass of Rakija in celebration with your newfound travel family and think back on all the adventure, food, and fun you have indulged in the past few days.
