  • Day 2 Arrival In Chile

      Arrival In Chile

      In the morning you will land in Santiago de Chile and will be transferred from the airport to the hotel. In the afternoon you will take a city tour through the center of the Latin American metropolis. You will visit the famous fish market Mercado Central and discover the Plaza de Armas with its beautiful church and typical street painters. The artistsโ€™ quarter Bellas Artes is also on the program as well as a visit to the Lastarria district with its numerous pubs and cafes. The evening is at your free disposal. Overnight stay at the hotel.

      In the morning you will be transferred to the airport and fly to Puerto Natales. Pick up at the airport and transfer to accommodation. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 4 Torres Del Paine National Park 1ร—F

      After a short tour of Puerto Natales, you will drive to Torres del Paine National Park, one of the most beautiful national parks on the continent. You will move into your quarters in the south of the park with a picturesque view of the Paine massif. Overnight stay in a lodge. (Travel time 2h, 120 km).

  • Day 5 Cougar Safari Intensive 4ร—F
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Cougar Safari Intensive 4ร—F

      In the next days you will go on an intensive search for the king of the Andes, the puma. The days start around 5:00 am at the lodge. Between 6:00 and 8:00 you will drive in a vehicle in and around the park to search for pumas. If a cougar is found, photos can be taken between 15 and 30 minutes so as not to disturb the cougarโ€™s daily routine. If no cougar is found during the vehicle search, the search will continue on foot between 8:00 and 11:00 am. Between 11:00 and 15:00 you can either return to your accommodation for lunch or, if you have a lunch box with you, stay in the park with the guide. If you stay in the park, you can go in search of Huemules (a small species of deer) in the sector of Lago Grey or just enjoy the spectacular scenery. Then, between 3:00 and 8:00 pm, the puma search will continue in other parts of the national park, such as Laguna Azul and Laguna Amarga. Besides the pumas, you will of course be able to admire lots of other animals and the local flora. 4 nights as the day before.

  • Day 6 Drive To Punta Arenas 1ร—F

      You will leave the dreamlike scenery of the last days and drive to Punta Arenas, a tranquil town on the Magellan Strait. Overnight stay in a hotel. (Travel time approx. 3,5h, 300 km).

  • Day 7 Whale Watching Intensive 1ร—(F/M/A)

      Whale Watching Intensive 1ร—(F/M/A)

      In the morning you will drive to the jetty in Punta Carrera Bay, where you will embark on the "Tanu" (Deity of Selknam). Around 10:00 you will set sail towards Carlos III Island (travel time approx. 8-10 h) and pass various historical sites on the Magellan Strait, such as Fort Bulnes, Bahia El Aguila or Cape Froward. Around 18:30 hrs you will keep a lookout for the giants of the seas before reaching the Eco-Camp Carlos III. With the visit of the observatory and with a common dinner you let this eventful day end relaxed. Overnight stay at the tented camp.

  • Day 8 Whale Watching, Santa Ines Glacier And Francisco Coloane Marine Park 1ร—(F/M/A)

      Whale Watching, Santa Ines Glacier And Francisco Coloane Marine Park 1ร—(F/M/A)

      After a sumptuous breakfast, you will head out for whale watching. Lunch will be taken on board and apart from the whales you will have the opportunity to observe penguin colonies, condors, sea birds and sea lions. You will also visit the Santa Ines Glacier in the "Icy Fjord". Among others, you will get to see Black-browed Albatrosses, Magellanic Penguins, Great Skua, Chilean Skua, Antarctic Cormorant and Giant Petrels. You will also visit 2 colonies of South American fur seals and maned seals. Around 19:30 you will return to Carlos III Island. On the way you will stop at the Barbara Channel to observe the humpback whales, which stay there every year between December and May. At the end of the day, farewell dinner at Ecocamp. Overnight stay as on the previous day.

      After breakfast, the "Tanu" sails around Rupert Island, which is home to a colony of Magellanic penguins. According to the latest estimates (2007), there are 19,000 penguins here. Other seabirds that dominate here are the Chileskuas with 12,000 specimens. Return to Punta Carrera Bay, which you will reach around 18:00. Continuation to Punta Arenas. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 10 Isla Magdalena: Magellanic Penguins 1ร—F

      Isla Magdalena: Magellanic Penguins 1ร—F

      In the morning you will take a boat trip to the Magellanic penguin colony on Magdalena Island, where you can observe the cute birds in their natural environment. The island is a nature reserve for about 138,000 penguins that come to the island every year in September to build their nests. In October the eggs are laid, and in November the young hatch. In April the penguins leave the island to return in September. Return to Punta Arenas. Overnight stay as the previous day.
