      Breakfast at the hotel. Driver will take you to the mountains of the Ruta de Las Flores, famous for its abundance of wild growing flowers. This region has beautiful panoramic views of the mountain side coffee plantations, lagoons and dense cloud forests. The mountain town of Ataco becoming in a door for all the artistic community, itโ€™s traditional producing of colorful textiles and the artistic murals painted on the walls of the colonial style houses. Afternoon at Leisure Optional Coffee Tour Finca El Carmen: You will have the opportunity to learn about coffee shrubs, coffee growing, coffee production and agro-forestry at Finca El Carmen. Your guide will describe each stage of coffee production.

      Breakfast. In the morning you will visit the archeological site of Joya de Ceren, which was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1993 for being the only location in the whole Mayan World where you can appreciate the day to day living styles of the popular pre-Columbian inhabitants. After this we travel to San Andres Maya site, which was inhabited by Mayans between AD 600 and 900 where you will visit a small onsite museum. Transfer to Suchitoto. Overnight in Suchitoto.

      Breakfast. 8.30 am guide will pick you up at the hotel. Suchitoto dates to pre-Columbian times and on the arrival of the Spanish it was one of the areaโ€™s most densely populated by the Pipiles. Walking through the narrow streets of the city of Suchitoto, learn its history and its conservation by seeing all about the full colonial buildings and cobblestone streets, and visit the cultural treasures of the Church of Santa Lucia on the main plaza, panoramic streets, old houses, and the โ€œtheater of the ruinsโ€. Optional in the afternoon you will participate in a special workshop. Indigo is a natural dye, which is extracted from the Xiquilite plant. It was a very important element for the Maya people since they used it for magical and religious rituals, for medicinal use, for pottery and for painting. During an Indigo workshop, you will learn all about the process and enjoy designing your own scarf! Optional Suchitoto is close to Lake Suchitlan, a river that was dammed and formed an ecosystem that offers much ornithological interest for abundance as well as for the variety of species, pelicans, herons and storks. The afternoon you have the option to go around the lake by boat.

      Transfer to La Union, port within the Gulf of Fonseca. Here, you take a boat to Potosรญ, a small port in Nicaragua. Arrival in Nicaragua and transfer to Leรณn, a cultural historical attraction, with an authentic atmosphere and gives visitors an opportunity to easily connect with the locals. Overnight in Leรณn.

      Day 7: Leon

      Explore the fascinating history of one of Nicaraguaโ€™s oldest and most influential cities by foot. It is considered Nicaraguaยดs historical, cultural, educational and religious capital. Leรณn was dismantled, moved, and rebuilt due to volcanic activities, ransacked (and reconstructed) by pirates, and won and lost its struggle as the most important city in Nicaragua against Managua. During this guided walking tour, you will visit revolutionary murals, baroque and neoclassical churches and an art museum displaying works by internationally renowned artists. A local market, colonial buildings -among them Nicaraguaยดs first university- will also be explored. In addition, you will climb to the rooftop of Central Americaยดs largest cathedral, registered on UNESCOยดs list of World Heritage, and enjoy the astonishing views over the city and surrounding Maribios Volcanic Chain.

      Your next destination is Granada, one of Central Americaโ€™s oldest and best-preserved Spanish-colonial cities. Granada was founded in 1524 and is believed to be the second oldest city established in mainland Latin America by the Spanish conquest. During colonial times, Granada saw much unrest as the city was attacked several times by pirates. Nowadays Granada is characterized by bright-colored Spanish-colonial architecture, visible throughout the city center. In route you visit the Masaya volcano and Masaya market. The tour starts at Masaya Volcano National Park. Your driver will bring you to the summit of the volcano, where you can peek inside the active crater. Your next stop is Masayaยดs artisan market, where you can purchase quality Nicaraguan handicrafts. Lunch in Catarina, from where you have superb views over the Apoyo Lagoon.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Granada

      Day 9: Granada

      After breakfast, morning tour to Las Isletas by boat. Situated at the foot of Mombacho volcano, Las Isletas consist of around 360 small forest-covered islands, formed by a volcanic eruption 20,000 years ago. You are transferred to the harbor where you meet the captain and board a motor boat. During the tour, your guide will point out the exotic flora and fauna. You make a stop at one of the islands where you enjoy a complimentary drink before heading back.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Laguna De Apoyo

      Day 10: Laguna De Apoyo

      You are transferred to Apoyo Lagoon, a beautiful crater lake. The Lagoon is located between Granada and Masaya and was formed thousands of years ago, when a volcano exploded. In 1991, the lagoon was declared as a natural reserve. Laguna de is said to have the cleanest water of all fresh water lakes in Nicaragua.
