      This morning, discover Oslo on a guided tour. See the Royal Palace, National Theatre, Parliament building and the Opera House by the waterfront. Enjoy a stroll through Frogner Park with its unique sculptures.

      Bid farewell to Oslo today and head north aboard the Dovre Railway to the city of Trondheim. Travel through Norwayโ€™s rolling countryside, passing expansive lakes and deep forests along the way. Arrive in Trondheim and settle in to your hotel, located close to the Old Quarter in the heart of the city.

      Depart Trondheim early this morning and journey on the Nordland Railway to Bodo. Surrounded by some of Norwayโ€™s most beautiful beaches, Bodo boasts a picturesque harbour and a stunning backdrop of towering mountain peaks. As Bodo is located beneath the auroral oval, if the weather is clear, tonight could be your first chance to catch a glimpse of the magical northern lights. After dinner, head out on an excursion in search of this ethereal light show.

      Travel by coach to Bognes for a ferry to Lodingen, then enjoy a scenic drive to Svolvaer, the tiny capital of the Lofoten Islands. Described as Europeโ€™s most dramatic and spectacular islands, the Lofoten Islands are tethered to mainland Norway by a series of bridges and resemble spiky, wired teeth. Prepare to be left speechless by the staggering natural beauty of the islands, from jagged mountain peaks to deep fjords and surf-swept beaches.

      Enjoy a scenic drive today, seeing the fishing village of Nusfjord and the traditional district of Vestvagoy. After dinner, embark on another excursion for a chance to see the northern lights.

      Leave Svolvaer by coach and return to the Norwegian mainland. Travel to Narvik where you will enjoy an afternoon at leisure. You might like to visit the Red Cross War Memorial Museum, which documents the wartime occupation of Narvik by the Germans in World War II. Also worth a visit is the Ofoten Museum, housed in the old NSB Railway building.

      Today, travel on the Ofoten Railway to Kiruna. A remarkable feat of engineering, the 42 kilometre railway route was carved out of the mountains, largely by hand. The end result is a breathtaking journey that takes you through untamed wilderness and steep mountainsides with sheer drops to the fjords below. Arrive in Kiruna, a remote town in the far north of Swedish Lapland, and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

      After a leisurely morning, discover Kirunaโ€™s famous Ice Hotel. When it was first built in 1989, the Ice Hotel became the worldโ€™s first and largest hotel made entirely of ice and snow. It melts away as spring comes around and is built anew every winter. As the snow falls and the landscapes of Jukkasjarvi are blanketed in white, artists from around the world come to the Ice Hotel to create an incredible art exhibition of snow, ice and light. Enjoy lunch at the Ice Hotelโ€™s traditional warm room before travelling to a Sami village for an Insider Experience. Afterwards, itโ€™s time to leave the village behind and journey into the wilderness for the chance to catch a final glimpse of the mesmerising northern lights.
