      Day 1: Arrival To Medellin

      Once you arrive in Medellin, Colombiaโ€™s second-largest city, youโ€™ll be warmly welcomed and taken to your accommodation. Without a doubt, Medellin is one of Colombiaโ€™s most exciting cities and surrounded by the high-rise jagged peaks of mountains, the city has developed into a thriving jewel in the crown of Colombia. Known as the City of Eternal Spring due to its year-round mild and pleasant climate, thereโ€™s never a bad time to soak up the sights and sounds of this magical city.

      Depending on the time of your arrival in Medellin, you will have the rest of the day free to explore the area near to where youโ€™re staying. Medellin is one of biggest flower producing areas of Colombia, and every August the Flowers Festival paints the streets of the city with colorful parades, local music, traditional dances and bright costumes. Tonight, walk to Medellinโ€™s Parque Lleras to sit down to a traditional meal in one of the many restaurants you will find there before discovering the liveliness and beauty of both the city and its people at the thriving bars nearby.

      Day 2: Explore Medellin

      Explore the highlights of Medellin in a different way. Today, youโ€™ll be picked up at your hotel and taken by taxi to the metro station where you will take the metro and then climb aboard Medellinโ€™s aerial Metro cable to soar over the city. You will continue to the city center, where you will visit Parque Berrio, Plaza Botero, a square dedicated to the Colombian artist Fernando Botero and locally known as La Plazoleta, this eye-opening park is home of around twenty chubby Botero sculptures, making it a great spot to grab some arty photos and Parque de las Luces. Youโ€™ll then continue to Paisa Town Pueblito Paisa, a depiction of a typical village of the region, before heading back to your hotel.

      After breakfast, your private transfer will take you to the airport for your flight to Santa Marta (flight not included).

      Having arrived in Santa Marta, the oldest city in Colombia and one of the first cities founded in Latin America, youโ€™ll have time to settle into your accommodation. The rest of the day is free to spend at leisure, exploring the area near to where youโ€™re staying and soaking up the cityโ€™s perfect combination of pristine beaches and history. Walk around the historical center or along the bay, and get the vibe of this quiet city before sitting down to a refreshing cocktail while watching the sunset over the Caribbean.

      Day 4: Self Guided Tour In Tayrona National Park

      Your private transfer will take you along Colombiaโ€™s Caribbean coastline to Tayrona National Park. Arriving in Tayrona, the transfer will drop you off at the main entrance ZAINO of the National Park, from there you can also take transport (which currently costs COP 4,000) and get off at the parking lot where you will start a gentle 45-minute hike through the jungle to the area of Arrecifes. 


      If you want to save your energy from the walk you can also rent a horse. While the journey from the main entrance to the parking lot is around 3 miles if you would rather walk you can do so instead of taking the local transport on offer. Along the way, youโ€™ll be able to see all types of flora a fauna including monkeys which are just some of the 108 other species that live within the Tayrona National Park. Arrefices also offers a restaurant where you can have lunch. 


      Optionally you can hike for another 20 minutes to La Piscina, a natural pool where you can bathe and snorkel in the warm, crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. You can then decide whether to spend the rest of your day relaxing on the deserted beach of Cabo San Juan del Guia. 


      In the afternoon you will walk back to the main entrance where your transfer will be waiting for you to take you back to Santa Marta. Your transfer will be waiting at the ZAINO entrance (the same entrance where you were dropped off this morning), please make sure to start walking with plenty of time in order to be at ZAINO at 16:00. We recommend you to bring Colombian pesos in case you want a buy food and drinks while you are in the park. You also need to bring a photocopy of your passports. In the morning your driver will give you the entrance fees.
