Itinerary of your trip Round Trip Wales

  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Arrival

Individual arrival to Manchester Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, your tour guide will welcome you. On the way to your first accommodation you will get to know the historic city of Chester on a walking tour. It houses one of the best preserved city walls in the country. Later, the picturesque city became known as a vacation resort for the nobility.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Isle Of Anglesey
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 2: Isle Of Anglesey

Today you will explore the Isle of Anglesey, an island off the northwest coast of Wales. Two bridges cross the Menai Strait, a strait that connects Anglesey to the mainland. The landscape is dominated by hills and consists inland of undulating pastureland followed by impressive cliff coasts and sandy bays. Like champagne or Parma ham, "Halen Mรดn" (Anglesey sea salt) is a protected designation - and rightly so! During a visit to the Halen Mรดn Visitor Center, you can see for yourself the quality of the natural sea salt. During a guided tour you will get to know the small family business. Afterwards, you will have free time to explore the historic town of Beaumaris. In the busy shopping street you will find numerous cafes and restaurants that invite you for lunch. The town is also home to one of the most famous Welsh castles. On a boat trip to Puffin Island you will see impressive scenery as well as a variety of different bird species. The highlight of the tour is of course the puffins (April to July) that nest on the island. With a little luck you might even spot seals, dolphins or porpoises on your boat tour. On the way back to the hotel, stop briefly at what is probably the most famous village in Wales: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndro bwllllantysiliogogoch. With 58 letters, the village has the longest official place name in Europe.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Snowdonia National Park - Llechwedd Slate Caverns
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Snowdonia National Park - Llechwedd Slate Caverns

In the morning, another highlight of your trip awaits you. Today you will climb Mount Snowdon by rack railroad. With 1085 meters it is the highest mountain in Wales. At the top you can enjoy a magnificent view over the mountain landscape of Snowdonia National Park. By cable car, in a tiny cabin, you will then descend to the Llechwedd Slate Caverns. Once down in the mine, visitors are given an impressive insight into the living and working conditions of the miners, as well as their suffering, through films and sound recordings. You can watch how a block of slate is turned into roof tiles and try it out for yourself. Afterwards, you will continue to your hotel in Llandrindod Wells.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Ceredigion Coastal Path - Aberystwyth - Devilโ€™S Bridge
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Ceredigion Coastal Path - Aberystwyth - Devilโ€™S Bridge

Today you will get to know the county of Ceredigion better. The 105-kilometer Ceredigion Costal Path runs along the coast. Here you will make two stops. First, you can enjoy a leisurely walk through the sand dunes of Ynyslas. Afterwards, the small coastal village of Borth awaits you. At low tide you can see the remains of a former forest here.

Just in time for lunch you will reach the seaside resort Aberyswyth, which is the cultural center of Mid Wales due to more than 7000 students. You walk along the 5 kilometer long Victorian seafront. At the northern end you board the Aberystwyth Cliff Railway. In just a few minutes, Britainโ€™s oldest funicular takes you up Constitution Hill from where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the town, Cardigan Bay and the Welsh mountains. Afterwards, youโ€™ll head to Devilโ€™s Bridge. These unique waterfalls have attracted thousands of visitors since the 18th century, including William Wordsworth, who wrote about the "River at Devilโ€™s Bridge." According to legend, the oldest bridge was built by the devil because it was too difficult for mortal men to make a river crossing.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Pembrokeshire
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 5: Pembrokeshire

Today is dedicated to the Pembrokeshire National Park: You will first visit the rocky headland of Strumbles Head. Offshore is the island of Ynys Meicel with the white Strumble Head Lighthouse, from which the headland takes its name. With a little luck you can watch seals and whales from here. You will continue to the small town of St. Davids. St. Davids owes its title of "town" to the fact that it is home to a cathedral. With a population of just under 2,000, it is the smallest "cathedral town" in the United Kingdom. Afterwards, a short coastal walk is on the program. At the end of the day, you will have free time in the charming coastal town of Tenby. In addition to a lively harbor, there are many listed buildings here. Pastel-colored houses above the harbor offer a colorful picture. Admire the historic town walls and fantastic beaches in addition to the brightly painted houses.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Gower Peninsula - Cardiff
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Along the magnificent kilometers of beaches like The Mumbles or Rhossili Bay you will take a leisurely walk. Afterwards you will reach the Welsh capital and visit the famous Cardiff Castle. Besides the main tower of the Norman castle and the state rooms of the manor house, you can also see the air raid shelter from World War II and a museum on the Royal Welsh Army. The Spirit of Wales Show in the evening promises a brilliant end to the day with Welsh culture, music and entertainment, plus a superb selection of first class food - a treat! (bookable at extra cost).

The popular single malt is described as mild and fruity. Afterwards, you will drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Pontcysyllte Aqueduct incl. "Stream in the sky" is the localsโ€™ name for the largest water bridge in Great Britain, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have the opportunity to take a short walk on the aqueduct.
