      Our team will meet you in the morning when you arrive at the Jorge Chรกvez International Airport. We will help you go through customs, and give you a hand picking up your luggage. Then we will drive you over to your hotel in Miraflores in our private van. There you will check in and you will have the whole day free to rest, relax, and get familiar with the vibrant Peruvian capital city of Lima.

      Lima, was founded by the conquistador, Francisco Pizarro, in 1535. In the evening at 6 pm. you will be briefed about the details of the tours that you will enjoy over the next 15 days in Peru. After hearing about all the details of your tours, feel free to begin your adventures by exploring Miraflores which is the most exclusive residential neighborhood in Lima.

      A spectacular day in the City of Kings. On Day 2 we welcome you to Peru and begin the tours. Peru is a country of incredible contrasts and surprising treasures. Today we will begin in the morning by touring central Lima. With its 2000 years of history, it will amaze you. The center of colonial Lima has been declared to be part of the Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Its historic edifices surround the Plaza Mayor ( Great Plaza.) During the tour we will appreciate the beauty of the imposing Archbishopยดs Palace, the opulent Palace of the Government, the official residence of the president, and the Cathedral of Lima.

      The keystone of the Cathedral was laid by Francisco Pizarro during the 16th century. We will continue by visiting the San Francisco Monastery which was built during the 17th century and features some magnificent tile work. In the interior weยดll see the exceptional paintings, the ornate carvings, and the world famous library.

      On our way back to our hotel we will stop at the panoramic ยจHuaca Pucllanaโ€ Pyramid. This pyramid, which was constructed in the 4th century B.C., was a magnificent ceremonial center. It is an amazing archeological feat, and it was considered to be a sacred place by the Incas. After listening to a brief presentation, weยดll return to our hotel and have the afternoon free to explore the iconic sites that are close to the hotel.

      If you would like to continue a deeper exploration into Peruvian culture, you could participate in an optional tour to the Larco Herrera Museum. This museum is located in a restored 17th century mansion and is considered to be the finest museum in Lima. Here you will be able to see the largest collection in the world of pre-Columbian masterpieces, and a very impressive exposition of gold and jewels, the value of which cannot be estimated.

      Today we begin our new adventure! We will fly out of Lima on our commercial flight. Our destination is Iquitos, the capital of Loreto. It is also considered to be the capital of the Peruvian Amazon. When you arrive you will be met by our team, and youยดll go on an exciting boat ride up the river to our lodge which is located in the heart of the Amazon.

      The scenery in the jungle is incredible. It is so full of biodiversity, more so than almost anywhere else on earth. After checking in, you will have welcome-to-the-lodge lunch. After lunch you can take a break at this rustic refuge. After siesta, youยดll begin to explore the magical trails along with your guide who is an expert in the local wildlife. This naturalist will be happy to share his knowledge of the enchanted forest. Youยดll be hiking through forest covered with moss, orchids, and ferns. Youยดll able to enjoy the best of the Peruvian jungle. Later youยดll return to the lodge for a good nightยดs rest.

      Your day of adventure in the Amazon begins with a delicious breakfast. Next weยดll go fishing. Perhaps weยดll be able to catch the monster of the river, the Piranha. These carnivorous fish are famous for their sharp teeth and voracious appetite. On this eco-tourist expedition weยดll enjoy the sights and sounds of the deep jungle. If weยดre lucky weยดll see the gray dolphins and the pink dolphins that only live in the Amazon.

      Continuing on our boat tour, weยดll soon arrive at village of the local Indians, the Yagua. There we can learn about their culture and traditions as they live in harmony with forest. Our local guide can teach you about how they live in the forest. In this way weยดll be able to get close to these native inhabitants. At other times this is very difficult. Here you will have the opportunity to buy their handmade crafts. This would go a long way toward improving their quality of life. They will also demonstrate how to use a blowgun. Some of the older men still hunt in this way. At the end of the day we will ride back to our lodge in the boat.

      After an energizing breakfast we will board our boat for the trip to the town of Mazan which is located on the shore of the Napo River. This is a growing town which now has a school, a market, and a small hospital. The town started out as Franciscan mission. Here we will be able to get to know some of the local folks. Weยดll discover their customs and traditions, and exchange cultural information. We can share some sweet moments with the local children. Those clients who decide not to take part in the optional tour like a Canopy Bridge Tour can take part in activities closer to the lodge.

      After a great breakfast weยดll jump in a private boat for the ride to Fundo Neisser. This is a privately funded reserve where 5 different species of tropical primates are being protected. Along with primates, other species are also being protected, such as anacondas, tortoises, mata mata, coatis, and parrots.

      The main goal of this foundation is to protect animals that are in danger of extinction. Finally, we will have a great lunch in the tropical jungle. There will be farewell ceremony of thanksgiving. All of the team will participate. Then we will return to Iquitos and go check in at the airport. After our flight back to Lima, there will be time to rest up at our hotel, so weยดll be ready for more adventures in the days to come.

      After breakfast in the morning, you will be driven to the Lima airport. There you will board you flight to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Tahuantinsuyo, and the oldest continually occupied city in South America. Our team will be waiting for you at the Cusco airport. They will welcome you and, along with your guide, you will travel to the spectacular towns of the Sacred Valley. The scenery on the way is stupendous.

      You will stop in the town of Chincheros where you will enjoy a delicious lunch and be shown how the weavers make their handmade alpaca textiles. They use natural wool, and color it with native plants, insects, and minerals. There will be time to tour the Chincheros Temple Complex. There youยดll find some exquisite Incan stonework comprised of finely cuts blocks and perfect niches. There will be visits to textile shops, too. If there is enough time, we can have an intercultural exchange with a local family and the local children.

      Then we will continue our journey to the fascinating Sacred Valley. When we arrive weยดll take a siesta before enjoying a fraternal dinner to the rhythm of the Andes.

      This is a very special day. This is a day free of any schedule or itinerary. Youยดll be able to enjoy the magic of the Sacred Valley in your own style. You can have breakfast at whatever time you like. You can relax at the hotel, or go explore the immense Fortress of Ollantaytambo. This site is located just a short drive from your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

      This will be one the memorable days that you will spend while traveling around ageless Peru. After a great breakfast at your hotel we will take you to the Ollantaytambo train station where youยดll board your train to Machu Picchu. You will ride the Vistadome train along the banks of the Vilcanota River to One of the Wonders of the Modern World. On the train ride you pass by ancient villages, sacred mountains, and a great number of wild plants and animals native to this zone.

      When you arrive at Machu Picchu Pueblo you will encounter a small vibrant city that exists in order to satisfy the needs of every visitor who comes here looking to be delighted by its enchantments. The surprising Citadel of Machu Picchu, known as the Lost City of the Incas, was designated as One of the Seven New Wonders of the World on 7/7/2007. Machu Picchu was practically unknown until it was rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911. It was first rediscovered by the farmer, Agustรญn Lizรกrraga of Aguas Calientes, in 1902. You will enjoy your 3 hour guided tour of the site during which youยดll visit the most important locations: the Temple of the Sun; the Temple of the High Priest; the Sacred Plaza; and the Intihuatana. This intricately carved stone was probably used as a sundial by the ancient Incas.

      After your tour you will be able to take some fantastic photos that will be treasured long after you return home. After you marvel at this magical site that was built during the 15th century you will return to Aguas Calientes where you will eat lunch. Then you can board your train back to the Sacred Valley. From there you will be met by team and ride back to Cusco on our bus. There you can rest up after a very exciting day.

      Free day in Cusco You probably have asked why Cusco is considered to be such a special city. It is because here it is possible to do all the activities and take part in every adventure sport that you have always wanted to try, from taking a walking tour of the city to river rafting on the Vilcanota River.

      The Imperial City was the ancient capital of the Incan Empire. Today it has been declared part of the Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. It is a friendly city that is full of history and architecture. There are Incan ruins around every corner. There are also great examples of Spanish colonial architecture. It is well worth your while to spend time in Cusco exploring the most iconic places and visiting the local galleries full of handmade textiles and other crafts.

      In the morning, after a delicious breakfast, we leave Cusco and ride through the Andes in the direction of the Antiplano. The first stop on the tourist Route of the Sun will be chapel at Andahuaylillas. There we will have a very interesting guided tour of the church of St. Peter, the Apostle. The ceilings and the walls are covered with murals and the oil paintings which use real golden foil.

      The next stop will be the Temple of Wiracocha at Raqchi. This is an important Incan site. The large rectangular temple is 92 m. long, 25.5 m. wide, and about 9.8 m high. During your tour of the site you can not only learn all about this fantastic tourist attraction, but you can also enjoy the changing weather in this pleasant Andean environment.

      When we arrive at Sicuani we will eat a great lunch. Then we will continue our journey along the Route of the Sun and stop at La Raya. At 4335 masl., this is the highest point of our trip from Cusco to Puno. The final stop on the tour will be the museum at Pukara. This was an important ceremonial site on the Altiplano. Here we can discover the origin of pre-Incan cultures through the museumโ€™s collection of sculptures and ceramics. We will arrive at Puno at approximately 5 pm. There we will be able to get comfortable and relax at our hotel.

      On this our 11th day we will go out boat riding on Lake Titicaca. Weโ€™ll visit the Floating Islands of the Uros and the Island of Taquile. The trip out to the Floating Islands is fascinating. The natives make these islands out of the tortora reeds which grow in the shallow parts of the lake. Out of these reeds they can produce just about everything that they need to live comfortably out in the middle of the lake.

      They construct their boats out of tortora reeds. If well they are well built, a reed boat can last up to 6 months. The Uros will explain how their islands are constructed. When the reeds that are most submerged start to rot, new reeds are placed on top. We will have lunch on the Floating Islands. Then after lunch we will re-board our motor launch and go to the Island of Taquile. Taquile is famous for its fine handmade weavings, and also for its ceramics.

      After breakfast, you will have some time to explore the city, and then we will take you to the Inca Manco Cรกpac Airport in Juliaca where you will board your flight to Lima. On the flight to Lima you will fly high over the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. When you arrive in Lima our team will meet you and drive you to your hotel in the exclusive Miraflores neighborhood. This will be your last full day in Peru. To celebrate, we invite you enjoy the best food that Lima has to offer, accompanied by a Pisco Sour.
