As you arrive at the airport, one of our friendly Asian Heritage Treks & Travel representatives will be waiting for you with a sign with your name. You will then be quickly dropped off at your hotel. Along the way, you’ll see iconic landmarks such as the Open Cremation Place (Pashupatinath Temple), the Royal Palace Museum (Narayanhity), and the tranquil Garden of Dreams, all before arriving in Thamel.

Your hotel, conveniently located in downtown, puts you right in the heart of the tourist district. Once settled, our representative will be available to answer any questions and go over your travel plans. Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of time to explore Thamel’s vibrant streets at your leisure.

Day 2 Sightseeing In Kathmandu

Sightseeing In Kathmandu

After breakfast, our friendly tour guide and driver will transport you in a comfortable vehicle. We’ll begin our journey by visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its intricately carved temples and historic buildings that provide a glimpse into ancient Kathmandu. Next, we’ll travel to Swyambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, to enjoy panoramic views of Kathmandu.

Following that, we will go to Pashupatinath Temple, one of Southeast Asia’s most important Hindu pilgrimage sites. You’ll see the traditional Hindu cremation ceremony and explore the peaceful surroundings. We can also visit the nearby Guweyswori Temple, another important pilgrimage site. Our final stop will be at Boudhanath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to 600 A.D. It is a unique Buddhist symbol that provides a peaceful setting for reflection. Following our sightseeing excursion, you can return to your hotel to unwind.

In the morning, our guide will greet you and take you on a scenic drive to Kirtipur. Kirtipur is a charming historical town belonging to the Newar community, renowned for its well-preserved architecture, rich culture, and stunning natural beauty. During your visit to Kirtipur, you’ll explore fascinating sights like the Bagh Bhairav Temple, Chilancho Stupa, and Uma Mahaeshwor. Don’t miss the opportunity to savor traditional Newar cuisine, including a taste of their famous rice liquor.

Next, we’ll journey to Patan Durbar Square, one of the ancient cities nestled within the Kathmandu Valley, for more sightseeing. In Patan, you’ll discover UNESCO World Heritage sites like the Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square. Dive deeper into the city’s history at the Patan Museum, where you can learn about its royal legacy and past rulers. Our tour also includes visits to the revered Golden Temple, revered by both Hindus and Buddhists, and the Banglamukhi Temple.

To cap off our day of exploration, we’ll head to Nagarkot to witness the breathtaking sunset over the valley.

Nagarkot is a breathtaking destination nestled in the Bhaktapur district, offering the most stunning views of the Himalayas. Renowned for its mesmerizing Sunrise View, you’ll have the opportunity to catch sight of majestic peaks like Mount Everest, the Langtang Range, Ganesh Himal, Ghaurisankar, Rolwaling Himal, and other snow-capped ranges of eastern Nepal. After experiencing the unforgettable sunrise spectacle in Nagarkot, we’ll take you on a scenic drive to Changunarayan Temple.

After that, we’ll explore Bhaktapur, where you’ll be captivated by its well-preserved architecture, which has retained its ancient charm. Marvel at the intricately carved wooden buildings scattered throughout Bhaktapur and then venture to another UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Take your time to wander around and then visit Nyatapola Temple, one of Nepal’s largest temples.

Next, we’ll head to Pottery Square, where you can participate in a pottery-making class using traditional methods. Learn how to craft your own pottery and create your unique designs, guided by skilled artisans. It’s a hands-on experience that’s both educational and enjoyable.
