Day 1: Colombo City Tour & Negombo
Stop At: Gangaramaya Temple, Sri Lanka
Gangaramaya is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Colombo, started by the famous scholar monk Hikkaduwe Sri Sumangala Nayaka Thera in the late 19th Century.

Stop At: Wolvendaal Church, Wolfendhal
In 1736 Governor of Ceylon, Gustaaf Willem van Imhoff, sought approval from the Dutch East India Company to demolish the existing church within the Colombo Fort and construct a new one on the same site. However, the VOC refused this request, and it wasnโt until the arrival of Governor Julius Valentyn Stein van Gollenesse in 1743 that the impasse was overcome.

Stop At: Independence Square, is a popular stopping place on a city tour so visitors can walk around the structure or relax in the shade of the avenue of mango trees. The Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque, also known as the Red Mosque, is one of Colomboโs oldest mosques. The Arabs arrived for the first time in Sri Lanka for trade in the 7th century AD. As olden day Ceylon was a hub for trade and was right in the middle of the spice and silk routes; they maintained a constant presence in Sri Lanka since that time by either migrating or intermarrying with the locals.

Stop At: Negombo Lagoon
Cruise in the cool of the morning when the birds are most active and fishing boats are returning from the sea. The shores of the lagoon are buzzing with activity as hundreds of fishing families deliver their catch to the fish markets and wash their nets along the beach. Also you will be able to explore the famous Negombo Lagoon where the crabs/lobsters and fish are a plenty.

Stop At: Negombo Fish Market
Each day, fishers take their oruvas and go out in search of the fish for which Negombo is famous. Theyโre a fine sight as they sweep home into the lagoon after a fishing trip. Fish auctions on the beach and sales at the fish market near the fort.

Pidurangala Vihara is an ancient Buddhist temple situated in Pidurangala village of Matale District, The temple was constructed on a massive rock called Pidurangala, which is located a few kilometers north of the historical fort Sigiriya.

Day 3: Sigiriya & Polonnaruwa
Stop At: Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress
The Sigiriya Rock Fortress (5th Century AD) of Sri Lanka is situated in Matale district near Dambulla. Recorded as a UNESCO world heritage, Sigiriya being a fortress citadel and had been well designed for its defences by having ramparts and moats built around it. There are several approaches to the inner city and the most prominent is the Western entrance. From the summit of the rock, the land areas up to distances of tens of miles can be watched making it hard for the enemy to make a surprised attack to the kingdom. King Kashyapa is credited with this magnificent creation and the elaborate water garden which faces west looking from the top terrace of the rock. The world famous frescoes of the โheavenly maidensโ are painted on the western facia of the rock overlooking the fountains of the western water garden, which come alive during the rainy season, remaining functioning to modern day.

Another UNESCO world heritage site, according to the chronicles, during the 12th century forced his way to the throne of Sri Lanka as King Prakrama Bahu the great. Establishing himself in Polonnaruwa, a capital worthy of authority and ambition of the ruler, he proceeded to show himself as a successful warrior and a great administrator, during which time he, through a medium of a dam nine miles long created the โThe Sea of Parakramaโ harvesting rain water to be used in the dry period of the year for cultivation purposes, carving the irrigation brilliance of Sri Lankanโs in stone.

Dambulla Rock Cave Temple (UNESCO world heritage site) Located at an elevation of 1118 feet from the sea level, the Dambulugala raises as a massive rock from the surrounding plains of Dambulla. It is home to the Worldโs most acclaimed Cave complex of magnificent Buddha Images and Rock Paintings of vivid colours and shapes constructed and painted from around the 2nd Century . and continued up to the Kandyan era of the 18th Century, thus forming an unbroken line of history and painting styles of Sri Lanka through 2500 years.

Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.

Held in Kandy town, this cultural show depicts various forms of Kandyan dancing which was once native to the area but has now spread to different regions of the island. Originated from a dance performed by Indian shamans who came to the island, Kandyan dancing plays an important role in Sri Lankan culture and is a much-anticipated event during perahera processions. During the show, you will see several dances trace their origins back to the ancient ritual as well as energetic acrobatic performances where the men perform a series of leaping pirouettes and stunts such as plate-spinning and the dramatic โfire walkโ which ends the show.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya
Stop At: Ramboda Waterfall
Ramboda Falls is 109 m high and 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 729th highest waterfall in the world. It is situated in Pussellawa area, Altitude of the falls is 945 m above sea level.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Horton Plains National Park,
start early as possible and dress to avoid the morning chill, but youโll need to cover your head by afternoon from the burning blue skies. An arduous track often covered in mist and drenched in dew, the places to see are bakersโ falls, the chimney pool done by a long forgotten colonial planter and the mini worldโs end and worldโs end. During the day time both mini and main Worldโs Ends are covered with mist and clouds, however during the month of February, itโs clear and offer a breath taking view across the southern parts of Sri Lanka, one must have the patience to wait at these points for clouds to clear to get a glimpse of a steep drop and a tea estate beneath Worldโs End. To get to the Bakerโs fallโs, you have to deviate from the main trail on a difficult downward path.
The National Park which is the identical to a savannah, is frequented by Elk, Deer, Giant Squirrel, Wild Boar, Wild Hare , Porcupine, and a variety of Migratory birds unique to this region. According to a recent count there are 16 Leopards in Horton Plains. Once this pampas like grassland was a heaven to many Elephants but has been annihilated by the colonial invaders and some accounts say that they were shot at a rate of 10 per day and today the elephant is no longer present at Horton plains.

Stop At: Little Adam's Peak

Yala is the 2nd largest wildlife park in Sri Lanka.
