  • Day 4 Lisbon
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Lisbon

After a delicious breakfast you will visit, with your local guide, the most important sites of this beautiful city located at the mouth of the Tagus River. The Alfama neighborhood will be our first destination, which to this day retains its neighborhood essence with low houses and narrow sidewalks. It is the oldest part of the city and the most photogenic for its graffitis and facades. Due to its labyrinthine structure -inherited from the Arabs-, getting lost in its little streets is charmingly easy.

The Torre de Belem, located in the Tagus estuary, initially served as a defensive tower to protect the city but later became a customs center and lighthouse. It was built between 1515 and 1519 and is the work of Francisco de Arruda. In 1983 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is located very close to the Jerรณnimos Monastery, where we will continue our visit. Inside this Monastery we will find a Church that contains the tombs of one of the most important figures in the history of Portugal: Vasco da Gama. This Portuguese navigator and explorer was in charge of circling the African continent until he reached India, opening up the so-called spice route for the Portuguese.

During the afternoon we include a transfer to the Restauradores square, a public square with plenty of restaurants and cafes.

  • Day 5 Lisbon, Fรกtima And Porto
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Lisbon, Fรกtima And Porto

After breakfast, we will head towards the city of Fatima.

Fatima is a central city in Portugal where the Sanctuary of Fatima is located, a Catholic pilgrimage site. The Capelinha das Apariรงรตes marks the place where it is believed that the Virgin Mary appeared in 1917.

Other sacred sites include the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, with its golden angels, and the modern church Igreja da Santรญssima Trinidade. The Museum of Sacred Art and Ethnology displays religious objects.

We will continue on our way through to Porto, Portugalโ€™s second largest city. We will have time to lunch and then go on a sightseeing tour of this city, which sits on the bank of the Duero river, and its historic city centre. We will also include a visit to the old cellars.

  • Day 6 Porto, Bom Jesus Sanctuary, Cambados And Santiago
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Porto, Bom Jesus Sanctuary, Cambados And Santiago

We suggest descending on foot to admire its stunning staircase.

Our journey continues to Galicia, where in the Rรญas Bajas, we will explore the historic city of Cambados. Weโ€™ll enjoy a glass-bottom boat ride where they will explain the mussel and oyster production process, including a wine and mussel tasting.

After lunch, weโ€™ll arrive in Santiago de Compostela, where we can enjoy a panoramic visit.

Weโ€™ll explore the historical part of the city, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important Christian pilgrimage centers in the world. It marks the end of the Camino de Santiago, originally built by the Roman Empire.

  • Day 7 From Santiago To Oviedo
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      From Santiago To Oviedo

After breakfast, we will depart, following the "Camino de Santiago," heading towards Lugo.

Upon our arrival, we will have free time to explore and discover its historic center and the Roman walls. This stone construction has survived the passage of centuries and continues to be the cityโ€™s major architectural attraction, bridging the gap between the historic and modern parts. Thanks to its unique status and good preservation, itโ€™s the only Roman fortification declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our route continues towards Leรณn, where weโ€™ll have free time for lunch (not included) and to explore the city. We can visit its Gothic cathedral with its stained glass windows and stroll through the historic center.

Later, weโ€™ll cross the Cantabrian Mountains on our way to Asturias. We will arrive in Oviedo in the late afternoon, where we will enjoy a panoramic guided tour of the city. Weโ€™ll get to know the 9th-century cathedral, the Calatrava Palace, the Campoamor Theater, the famous Rua street, among other attractions.

  • Day 8 From Oviedo To Santander

      From Oviedo To Santander

After a delicious breakfast, we will head towards the Picos de Europa, known for their scenic beauty and their significance in the history of nature conservation in Spain. Along the way, we will enjoy beautiful landscapes and visit the impressive Basilica of Covadonga, built in commemoration of the Battle of Covadonga, which took place in the year 722 and is considered a pivotal event in Spainโ€™s history. In this battle, King Pelayo and his Christian forces defeated the Muslim forces, marking the beginning of the Christian Reconquista in the Iberian Peninsula.

We will continue our journey along the coast towards Santillana, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain that still preserves its medieval old town intact. In the vicinity, we will visit the Altamira Caves Museum, which houses an exact replica of the original paintings found in the nearby Altamira Caves, famous for their prehistoric rock art, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a glimpse into the lives of the ancient inhabitants of the region. These caves were the first place in the world where Upper Paleolithic Cave Art was identified, and they stand out for the quality, excellent preservation, and freshness of the pigments.

Our journey continues to Santander, the regional capital of Cantabria, a coastal city that will dazzle us with its breathtaking views nestled between mountains and beaches. Upon our arrival, we will enjoy a panoramic tour with a local guide, allowing us to explore this elegant coastal city and its beautiful bay.

Santander was used as a vacation destination by Spanish royalty and aristocracy, so we will have the opportunity to see majestic buildings that were used as summer residences.
