Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Thimpu
Stop At: Thimphu, Thimphu, Thimphu District
After arriving at Paro International Airport, your journey begins with a one-hour drive, passing rich, forested mountains dotted with monasteries and temples on route to Thimphu, the capital.
At an altitude of 7,700 ft (2,200 meters), Thimphu lies in a steep valley and is the only city in the world without a single traffic light.
We recommend slower paced activities on your first day as you adjust to the altitude. If energy levels allow, visit Zorig Chusum (The National Institute of 13 Arts and Crafts) to discover Bhutanโs numerous art forms before crossing the road to visit the Folk Heritage Museum, which offers insights into Bhutanese daily life in the past.
Then get up close and personal with the majestic Buddha Dordenma (170 feet/52 meter) statue perched high above the valley.
Return to the hotel and settle into the comfort of your room for a well-deserved nightโs rest. Night stay in Thimphu.

Day 2: Bhutan Cultural Immersion at Thimpu
Pass By: Thimphu, Thimphu, Thimphu District
Rise early to the Thimphu morning and enjoy breakfast before heading down the valley to explore more of Thimphuโs sites. Learn about weaving methods and local Gho and Kira at Royal Textile Museum, which showcases the intricate art of Bhutanese weaving.
Create your own stamp at the National Post Office.
Later, drive to Dodhena corssing the only Buddhism college for an afternoon picnic lunch on a sacred site surrounded by monastaries. Next see what the future holds at Pangri Zampa Lhakhang, a 16th-century monastic school of astrology where you can have your chart read before returning home for dinner at the lodge with bonfire, live music and folk dances.

Day 3: Paro Cultural Tour, Farm Dinner and Brewery Visit
Pass By: Paro, Paro, Paro District
After breakfast, drive to Paro via Dochula โ approximately 2 hours 30 minutes drive through picturesque valleys and mountain slopes dotted with typical Bhutanese villages. From the Dochula pass, at over 10,000ft, vast panoramic views of the high snowcapped peaks of the Bhutanese Himalaya can be enjoyed on a clear day.
We visit Rinpung Dzong the โfortress on heaps of jewelsโ. This dzong is an impressive example of classic Bhutanese architecture and is also where the annual Paro Tshechu (festival) is held.
Proceed to Paro National Museum, which displays a collection of ancient and modern thangkas (Buddhist paintings on cotton) as well as a collection of fearsome festival masks. Afterwards take a stroll down to the river with your guide and test your strength and skills with archery, Bhutanโs colorful national sport.
Celebrate your victory afterwards with a cold brew at the Namgay Artisanal Brewery, where a local entrepreneur is successfully bringing micro-brewing to Bhutan.Later, return to your lodge for wellness treatments and a delicious dinner that incorporates ingredients from their organic farm.

Day 4: Trek to Tiger's Nest
Pass By: Paro, Paro, Paro District
Today you can either choose to hike up to Tigerโs Nest (4hrs hike) or engage in the activities at your resort.
Taktsang Goemba monastery, more famously known as โTigerโs Nestโ. One of the most significant cultural icons of the Kingdom, this highly revered monastery was built on a sheer cliff face roughly 2,950 feet (900 meters) above Paro and is visible from the valley floor.
Your guide will hike up with you to the monastery and share
stories of its history along the way. Enjoy the wonderful scenery through pine forests that are colorfully decorated with moss and prayer flags.
Listen to the sound of prayer wheels turning and leave your good intentions by tying your own prayer-flag and let the wind carry blessings and prayers across Bhutan.
