Day 1: Arrival: Paris - Longyearbyen

Individual arrival in Paris, from there charter flight to Spitsbergen. Transfer to the ship. Your shipโ€™s port is close to the city center. Day 2: Along The Coast Of Spitsbergen

Spitsbergen is the last spot on earth before the Arctic pack ice. You drive past the particularly spectacular coastline. The rugged coastline formed by the fjords with thousand-year-old glaciers and rugged mountains passes you by. A unique backdrop and a unique habitat for a particularly large number of bird species. Enjoy the view of the rugged Arctic world from on board. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 3 Day 3-7: Out And About In The Pack Ice
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3-7: Out And About In The Pack Ice

Experience a unique journey into the heart of the pack ice, into an eternal, untouched and pristine world of ice. The landscapes here are constantly changing, with the ice shimmering in different colors in every light mood. Your ship makes use of the channels and areas with less thick ice, some of which are already naturally open, so that you can experience magical moments amidst the drifting ice floes. During the journey amidst these polygonal, thick, bluish ice floes, you will often encounter the fauna typical of pack ice. Perhaps a polar bear will drop by or you will spot seals in the ice? Nowhere else in the world can it be said as much as here: "The journey is the destination". While the ship makes its way through the eternal ice, you should enjoy the amenities on board, listen to the lectures or observe the Arctic world from the outside decks. 5 nights on board.

  • Day 4 Day 8: At The North Pole
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 8: At The North Pole

The geographic North Pole at a latitude of 90ยฐ is located on the Earthโ€™s axis of rotation, at the intersection of all meridians. For six months of the year it lies in darkness (polar night), then for six months it lies in the light of the sun (polar day). This mythical place, permanently covered in ice and far from the Earthโ€™s ice-free land surface, has captivated generations of polar explorers. Only very few people have succeeded in reaching it to date: on board Le Commandant Charcot, you now have the opportunity to become part of this exclusive circle. Excitement is in the air. The passengers gather on the bridge. The captain is doing precision work. Everyone wants to take a look at the GPS when the magic number 90ยฐ appears. Welcome to the geographic North Pole! You are "top of the world", all eyes are on the south - an incredible experience that is duly celebrated. The anchor is dropped on a sturdy ice floe and you go on an ice walk! This day will remain forever in your memory as the Charcot turns south again. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 5 Day 9-11: In The Pack Ice
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 9-11: In The Pack Ice

Heading south, you are back in the pack ice and once again have the chance to experience the strength of the ship, the comfort on board and the beauty of the Arctic. 3 nights on board.

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 12-14: On The Coast Of Greenland In Scoresbysund

During the journey along the coast of Greenland, you can once again enjoy the unexpected comforts of the icebreaker, browse through the polar library, celebrate the day at the North Pole with a glass of champagne or treat yourself to quiet hours on deck in search of whales or seabirds. Scoresbysund is considered the longest fjord system in the world and welcomes you with a variety of landscapes, red sandstone cliffs in Rode Fjord or snow-capped mountains on the Blosseville coast. The secluded settlement of Ittoqqortoormitt captivates with its colorful houses on the remote coast of East Greenland. 3 nights on board.

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 15-16: At Sea

Your route takes you through the Denmark Strait, the sea passage between Greenland and Iceland. At its bottom lies the Greenland-Iceland Sill and the "largest waterfall in the world" (Denmark Strait Cataract), which is created by the temperature difference between the cold waters of the Greenland Sea and the warmer waters of the Irminger Sea. Numerous whale species live in this rich ecosystem. 2 nights on board.
