Days 2-8: Yukon River Canoe Tour

Our canoe trip on the legendary Yukon River starts today. Over the next seven days, weโ€™ll paddle the Yukon, roam the wilderness, and spend wonderful, eventful days. In total, we cover over three hundred river kilometers on this large river. The starting point of our tour is right at the mouth of the Takhini River into the Yukon River. After just a few minutes on the river, we have left the hustle and bustle behind us. After about half a day of stretching the river, we reach Lake Laberge, a natural lake around 50 kilometers long through which the Yukon flows. If there is no wind, you can expect relaxed paddling past picturesque bays with small sandy beaches or steep cliffs. Due to the latent wind susceptibility of this section of water, we always stay close to the shore here for safety reasons. The first section of the river after the lake is called the โ€œ30 Mile Riverโ€. Here, a fairly fast current carries us along quickly and there are numerous opportunities here in the clear waters of the Yukon to fish for Nordic grayling or even for Norher pikes, as the pikes are called here. In this section, the Yukon is still narrow and the chances of getting bears or elks in front of the camera are correspondingly high. We pass the tributaries of the Teslin and Big Salmon River and reach the small Indian settlement of Carmacks on day 8. The canoe trip ends here and the van takes you back to Whitehorse via the Klondike Highway. Transfer to the airport or plan the further individual program. (As this is an expedition-style trip, changes in itinerary are possible at short notice and are at the guideโ€™s discretion.)
