Which is the best month to see the Northern Lights?

During the northern lights season (August - April) there is no better month than another, in reality it is very common to see them. There is a greater possibility of seeing auroras during the days of the new moon (7 days before and 7 after), that is when there is less light. Is it 100% sure that I will be able to see the northern lights?

It is very common, but it is not 100% sure. We must remember that this is a natural phenomenon, and nature will always have an unknown part that we still don't decipher. The probability of seeing northern lights is always latent, that is why in this adventure we will look for them during the four nights.

How is the weather in this adventure?

Temperatures: - August to September Day: + 10 °C and + 20 °C / Night: up to 0 °C. - October to November Day: 0 °C and -20 °C / Night: -30 °C and -40 °C. - December - March Day: -15 °C to -30 °C / Night: -30 °C and -40 °C. The hotel and most places have heating, there is also the possibility of renting winter clothes for every day of the experience.

We recommend checking directly with the embassy, as it depends on the nationality. You need at least six months of validity in your passport to get your visa. You must follow the instructions of the embassy to make the application. The visa must be applied for within three months prior to your start date. How much extra money do you recommend to take for extra expenses?

It is recommended to bring at least 65 CAD in cash for each day. ($ 1000 mxn approximately.) This adventure does not include: - Winter clothing for low temperatures. Optionally, you can rent them. - Meals. - Travel insurance. Optionally, you can buy an assistance card for your trip. - Tips for guides. Keep in mind that the staff is well paid, so feel free to tip or not as you wish. - Flight tickets or transportation to get to Whitehorse, Canada. - Additional costs or delays beyond the control of the administration (adverse weather conditions, modification of the itinerary due to a security problem, illness, change of government policy, strikes, etc.)

Our adventure includes all accommodation in Whitehorse. Do you have special fares for children?

Yes, for children under 12 years it is possible to make a 20% discount on the main experience, without including "Add-ons". It is important to mention that the child must be accompanied by at least one of their parents. Upon getting the discount, the child will share a bed with one of their parents, not being able to have a room or a single bed.

Where does the experience begin? Will you pick me up at the airport or hotel?

A tour representative will pick you up at the Whitehorse Airport upon arrival.

Which currency should I take? Where can I exchange money?

The currency used in Canada is the Canadian Dollar ($,CAD) We recommend you to change to the local currency before arriving in the country. It is also possible to change at some exchange offices and ATMs upon arrival in the country. Yes, depending on the activities for each day, you have some free time to eat or to go on another activity.

You can wander around the place, go shopping, or go on an additional tour.

If the experience does not include meals, what is the average price for each?

There are many options to go out and eat in Whitehorse. The city offers a great variety of restaurants from fast food to high end establishments. Our guide will be happy to recommend places to eat, depending on your preference.

Within what schedule will the tour finish on the last day?

The last day is free so it adapts to your flight schedule; a driver will pick you up at the hotel at the time you wish to leave.

What type of clothes/gear do I need?

You need winter clothes that are warm enough. The temperatures can be as cold as -40 °C. In order to be safe and enjoy possible outdoor activities as well as looking at aurora displays, we strongly recommend the rental of the winter clothing package, unless you have good winter sport clothing at home.

What happens if I get sick or injured and can't continue?

We highly suggest getting a complete insurance that covers medical bills and cancelation. We will assist you in case of an emergency.

What is the size of the groups?

The groups may be of 2-30 people.

Will there be phone coverage and/or Wifi?

You will have wifi at your accommodation, we suggest getting a local chip.

Which is the voltage? Do I need an adaptor?

120 V, you don't need adaptor if your devices are from Mexico.

After taking your flight from Mexico City, you arrive in Vancouver.
Once at Vancouver International Airport (YVR), a hotel representative will pick you up for your transfer to the hotel, just minutes from the airport and close to the picturesque Vancouver Harbor.
Vancouver, a vibrant coastal city in the province of British Columbia, is known for its cultural diversity and stunning natural surroundings. From the hotel, you will have easy access to a wide variety of restaurants, shops, cafes and ATMs, and you have excellent transportation options thanks to the city's fabulous public transportation.

Granville Island: Head to Granville Island, known for its lively public market. Here you can enjoy a variety of gourmet foods, fresh produce and local crafts. It's also a great place to shop for souvenirs.

Upon arrival at Whitehorse Airport, you will see a tour representative holding a sign with your name on it. The available time for the transfer from the airport is from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm.
You will head to your hotel in downtown Whitehorse. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants, banks and shops. We will have an informative meeting so that you can learn in detail about all the activities of your adventure and at this time you can mention the time of your departure flight to coordinate the transfer on the last day with the service provided by the hotel itself.
You will have time to try on winter clothing (optional in case of rental), go shopping and have dinner on your own.

Discover the most interesting places in Whitehorse on a city tour with a historic yet modern character. Visit the SS Klondike National Historic Site, where you'll find one of the last large ships that traveled the Yukon River system until the 1950s, the Old Log Church, the oldest building and church in Whitehorse, the unique Log Cabin Skyscraper, a three-story tower made entirely of logs, and more.
After visiting the most important places in the city, walk along Main Street, where you can shop or have lunch at some of the cafes (not included).
For the rest of the day, you can add some extra activity. We recommend adding the extra of a wildlife reserve and hot springs (not included):
Visit the Yukon Wildlife Reserve, located about 30 km from Whitehorse. There you will have up-close views of many of the Yukon's large mammal species, including moose, mule deer, caribou, Dall sheep, mountain goats, bison and even the high Arctic musk ox, all in their natural environment. You are sure to get some amazing photos during the experience.
The hot springs are not far from the reserve, so they are the best way to continue the day. You can treat yourself to relaxing in the hot springs and enjoying a stunning winter mountain setting.
Note: Children under 19 are not allowed for the Hot Springs activity. Today is free, you can optionally purchase a winter activity. Check the 'extras' section.

Day 5 Free day - Northern Lights Viewing

You have the day free to enjoy arctic activities that you can add as extras. Today you might have the opportunity to add the half-day snowshoe tour (Not Included):
You put on a pair of modern, lightweight snowshoes and experience the wonderful countryside among the gold miners, hunters and fur traders of yesteryear. You see the scenic location in the Whitehorse area, with the region's wildlife, such as grouse, foxes, coyotes and hares occasionally seen in the distance.
Note: The snowshoeing activity applies only to those 7 years and older.
Therefore, if you add it and bring minors, an adult must stay with the minor(s) at the hotel for the duration of the activity (approximately 2 hours).
