      Day 1: Arrival โ€“ Warsaw

      Arrival to Frederick Chopin airport in Warsaw. Sightseeing tour around the capital of Poland. Drive along the elegant streets Marschalkowska, Allee Jerozolimske, Nowy Swiat and others. Enjoy the Old town from the other side of the river Vistula. We will see the Royal Castle and stop at the Saxonian garden. At the Monument of the Warsaw Uprising, we will discuss the events of 1944.  Finish the sightseeing at the huge Palace of Culture and Science, the gift of the Soviet Union to the people of Poland. Time to refresh the flight and rest. In the evening enjoy an inaugural concert of the festival โ€œChopin and his Europeโ€ in Warsaw Philharmonics.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Warsaw

      Day 2: Warsaw

      This morning we will explore the city, its history, culture, and architecture.  Start with โ€œStare Miastoโ€ โ€“ (Old Town) that was destroyed almost completely and restored after the WWII by the heroic efforts and participation of the whole nation. We will be walking in the narrow streets, stop at the Old market square, see the statue of โ€œSirenkaโ€ the symbol of Warsaw, which is depicted on the coat of arms of the city. Next stop at the panoramic platform with the view of Vistula River and the new city.

      Our tour continues to so-called โ€œNowe Miastoโ€ (New Town) outside the Old city wall. we will see the Barbacan and stop at the house of Maria Sklodowska-Curie, twice Nobel prize-winner. Here we will finish our walking in the old part by the impressive memorial of the Warsaw Uprising.

      After the coffee break walking along the most beautiful Warsaw street โ€œKrakowske Pszedmeisceโ€. Stop at the monument of the greatest Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz and read some extracts from his works. Nearby  Herbert Hoover square and then the statue of Nicolaus Copernicus in front of the Academy of Sciences. Observe the Warsaw University and Presidential Palace. Final stop at Prince Radziwill palace, where young Frederic Chopin played his first public concert. After the rest at the hotel, piano music concert of the festival.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Warsaw

      Day 3: Warsaw

      This day we will devote to the Jewish History of Warsaw. Visit the only functioning Nozhyk Synagogue in Warsaw. Continue to the Orphan-house of the world famous dr. Janusz Korczak. See remnants of the Ghetto wall in the city center. New Jewish Cemetery โ€“ an open book of Polish Jewish history. Then we will visit the ghetto area and Anlilewitz street.

      We will retrace the way heroes of the Warsaw ghetto. Start at Umschlagplatz, the former train station from which terrible deportations were carried out. Walk along two streets marked by memorial stones with the names of Jewish resistance leaders. Stop at Bunker of the Jewish insurgents on former Mila 18 str. The final point of the walking will be Rapaport memorial for Ghetto heroes and the new modern museum of the history of the Polish Jews. In the evening a tour of night Warsaw and โ€˜Multimedia Fountain Parkโ€™, a visual delight combining music, light, and fountains.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Warsaw โ€“ Zelazowa Wola โ€“ Warsaw

      Today we will go outside Warsaw to visit a small town Zelazowa Wola, where Frederick Chopin was born in 1810. Visit the estate and the house of the Chopin family. Observe the authentic furniture, walk in the lovely park around the estate, see both old and new Chopin monuments.

      We will enjoy a piano recital of Chopin music on the terrace of the house. Back to Warsaw to visit the Church of the Holy Cross, where an urn containing the heart of Frรฉdรฉric Chopin was immured in a pillar after his death in Paris in 1849. After the rest โ€“  a concert of the festival.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Warsaw โ€“ Czestochowa โ€“ Krakow

      Morning drive south to the Royal Capital City of Krakow in Lesser Poland region. On the way visit Czestochowa city and its world-famous pilgrimage site โ€“ Jasna Gora. Visit the monastery complex with the miraculous icon of Black Madonna.

      Upon arrival to Krakow a sightseeing tour of the city and visit to the renaissance Royal Castle at Wawel Hill, the residence of the Polish Kings for hundreds of years. Enjoy the fascinating Wawel Cathedral and the Museum of the Palace. After the dinner a walking tour of night Krakow.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Krakow

      Start the tour of Old Krakow from the statue of Grunwald Battle. Continue through Barbacan and St. Florian gate to Florianska street โ€“ the way used by Polish Kings to cross the city on special events. Shortly we will approach  โ€œRynek Glownyโ€ โ€“ the Central Market with the fascinating St. Mary Basilica and Sukenicy โ€“ trading rows of the market.

      Afterward turn to one of the side narrow streets to see one of the oldest universities in Europe. Among its famous students were Nicolaus Copernicus and Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II). In the afternoon visit Kazimierz, the former Jewish suburb of Krakow.

      Today we start our tour at one of the most notable highlights of Poland โ€“ the famous Wieliczka Salt Mines. We will have a guided tour into the depths of the Salt Mines.  Will see the real mines, the statues of famous Polish people, the underground chapel. The picture of the Last Supper, and an underground lake. Local souvenirs in the shop and many other things are made of salt. Return to Krakow and visit Oscar Schindler factory museum, well known after Steven Spielbergโ€™s movie โ€œSchindlerโ€™s listโ€ appeared.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Krakow โ€“ Warsaw

      Day 8: Krakow โ€“ Warsaw

      Morning drive back to Warsaw. En route some shortstops in Polish villages to get an idea of the rural life and of the former shtetls. Upon arrival in Warsaw, we will visit the gorgeous Baroque Wilanow Palace and park, the summer residence of the Polish Kings. In the evening a concert of the festival โ€œChopin and his Europeโ€.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Warsaw- Departure

      Day 9: Warsaw- Departure

      In the morning we will visit the National Fine Arts Museum, which contains numerous works of Polish artists.  We will admire the masterpieces of the great painter Jan Matejko. Finish our stay in Poland by visiting the terrace of the Palace of Culture and Science. From the 33rd floor, we will watch the magnificent panorama of the Polish capital. Drive to the airport for the flight back home.
