      Day 2: Welcome To Mongolia

      Upon arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by your tour guide in Ulaanbaatar and taken to your hotel. Take the time to arrive and relax. In the afternoon, you will first visit Sukhbaatar Square - the heart of Ulaanbaatar. Continue exploring the city and visit the National History Museum. During the welcome dinner in the evening, you will get to know your travel group. Overnight stay at the hotel.

      Day 3: Heading Northwest To Noyon Uul

      After breakfast, the journey "out into the countryside" begins. Make a stop on the way and hike to the impressive Aglag temple. Later you will reach your first yurt camp in the middle of the forest. You can look forward to various yurt camps over the coming weeks. All camps are individually furnished, some traditional, some modern. Overnight stay in a yurt. (Travel distance 100 km, walking time approx. 2 hours)

      Day 4: Unesco World Heritage Amarbayasgalant Monastery

      Amarbayasgalant is one of the three largest Buddhist centers in Mongolia. The monastery was built between 1727 and 1738 by Emperor Manchu. It was restored with the help of UNESCO and represents a precious cultural heritage of the Mongolian Buddhists. Here you take a hike through the green landscape to the monastery, where you may come across one of the many Mongolian camels or horses. Overnight stay as on the previous day.       Day 5: Uran Togoo Extinct Volcano

      Drive through the endless steppes to the extinct volcano Uran Togoo. You will pass the second largest city in the country, Erdenet, and very probably nomadic families with their animals and yurts in the middle of the magnificent landscape. In the afternoon, you will go on a leisurely hike along the extinct volcano Uran Togoo, where you can hike up to the crater rim if you wish. Itโ€™s worth taking a look inside the volcano! Overnight stay in a yurt. (Driving distance 240 km, walking time approx. 3-4 hours)

      Day 6: Mountain Landscape Of Khuvsgul Province

      Today the journey is the destination! You drive through northern Mongolia into the beautiful mountain landscape of Khuvsgul province. On the way, as every day, you will be spoiled with a good lunch. You will visit the local market in the provincial center of Murun and the famous deer stones from the Hun period (200-300 years BC) in Uushgiin Uvur. You will explore the 14 well-preserved stones on a hike. Your camp for today is not far from these stones. Overnight stay in a yurt. (Travel distance 310 km, walking time approx. 2 hours)

      Day 7-8: Crystal Clear Lake Khuvsgul

      Spend the next 2 days in the spacious yurt camp on Lake Khuvsgul. The Mongolians revere the lake as "Dalai eej" - the "Mother Sea". The protected lake is also known as "the blue pearl of Mongolia" due to its clear water. On a hike through the beautiful landscape, you will discover numerous flowers and medicinal herbs on the shores. From a mountain, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and the surrounding landscape. The brave can take a dip in the cool lake. Overnight stay in a yurt.       You leave the mountainous north and drive first over mountain passes and later through seemingly endless steppe landscapes to Ulziit Khishig. On the way, you will hike through the flower-covered grass steppe in one of the wide valleys. You reach your yurt camp in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in a yurt.       Day 10-11: The White Lake In The Khangai Mountains Of Central Mongolia

      Todayโ€™s drive takes you to one of the most beautiful lakes in the country, Lake Terchiin Tsagaan Nuur at an altitude of 2600 m in the middle of the Chorgo-Terchiin Tsagaan Nuur Natural Park. It has two jewels in store for you: the lake and the extinct Khorgo volcano on the eastern shore. Spend 2 nights in this wild area in a yurt camp right by the lake and, with a bit of luck, spot deer, wild boar, ducks and great cormorants. You can climb the volcano on a 16 km hike or take a leisurely stroll and swim by the lake. Overnight stay in a yurt. (distance 230 km)

      Day 12: The Hot Springs Of Tsencher

      Drive through the vast steppe to the hot springs. Many ancient volcanoes are responsible for these in the Archangai region. The springs in this beautiful, green landscape are 85.5 ยฐC hot and flow at an altitude of 1860 m above sea level. In the evening, enjoy a bath with healing powers near your yurt camp. Overnight stay in a yurt. (distance 230 km)

      Day 13: In The Footsteps Of Genghis Khan And Yellow Buddhism In Karakorum

      Todayโ€™s destination is the former capital of the Mongolian empire under Genghis Khan: Karakorum (Charchorin). You will visit the famous Erdene-Zuu monastery, which was founded in 1586 on the initiative of Awtai Sain Khan and is the oldest center of yellow Buddhism in Mongolia. There is the opportunity to take part in a Buddhist prayer. Overnight stay in a yurt. (distance 120 km)

      Day 14: Ruins Of The Buddhist Monastery Ongi

      Your next destination is the ruins of the hidden Ongi Monastery (Ongin Chiid), which is located on the Ongi River of the same name. Over 500 Buddhist monks once lived in the monastery. During the religious persecutions in the 1930s, the monastery was largely destroyed and many of the monks living there lost their lives. On a hike of around two hours, you will visit the monastery ruins and the surrounding area. Overnight stay in a yurt. (Driving distance 240 km, walking time approx. 2 hours)

      Drive to the red-hot cliffs at Bayanzag. These red sand cliffs are known as the "Flaming Cliffs" due to their ochre-red color. Many dinosaur fossils have been found here, making this area world-famous among palaeontologists. You will explore this exciting area in southern Mongolia on a hike. Overnight stay in a yurt.       The Chongor Sand Dunes, also known as the "Chongoriin Els", are probably the most impressive sand masses in the Gobi National Park, covering an area of more than 900 kmยฒ. They are among the largest, sandiest areas in Mongolia and are undoubtedly one of the most spectacular sights in the country. The wind always blows from north to south, which is why they grow up to 300 meters high. The Mongolians call them the "singing dunes" because of the sound they make. Spend 2 days in this impressive landscape and hike the dunes. Overnight stay in a yurt. (driving distance 150 km)

      Day 18: Legendary Vulture Gorge

      In the early morning, drive to the Vulture Gorge at the eastern end of the Altai Mountains. You hike into this impressive gorge called Yoliin Am, which is 2800 m above sea level. Overnight stay in a yurt. (Travel distance 200 km, walking time approx. 2 hours)

      Day 19: White Stupa In The Central Gobi

      After breakfast, drive to the Central Gobi to "Tsagaan Suvarga" - White Stupa. The striking rock formations are called "White and Red Stupas" because of their color. You hike through the area of the "White Stupa". This is shaped by wind and water and is over 60 m high and 400 m wide. Overnight stay in a yurt. (Travel distance 220 km, walking time approx. 2 hours)

      Day 20: Granite Rock Mountain Baga Gazriin Chuluu

      Drive to Baga Gazriin Chuluu, a massive granite rock mountain at an altitude of 1768 meters. The rocks rise steeply from the otherwise flat landscape. With a bit of luck, you may spot rare species such as ibex, wild sheep, marmots and vultures. Here you can enjoy a beautiful hike through this wonderful natural beauty with strangely shaped granite rocks. Overnight stay in a yurt. (Travel distance 220 km, walking time approx. 2 hours)
