Goodbye, home and hello, United States! You get on the plane and before you know it, your feet are on American soil! You take the subway or a cab to your hotel.
You check in, but can’t stay inside for long - your curiosity about the megacity is far too great! What better way to get an overview of the metropolis than from above? "The Edge" offers you a breathtaking view of the unmistakable skyline (optional, payable on site). Do you dare to look down through the glass floor? Last destination for today: Times Square, the beating heart of the city. It is shrill, colorful, hectic and loud here at any time of day or night. Neon signs and video screens vie for your attention and you don’t know where to look first!

Are you ready for the urban jungle? Start your city tour early in the morning at the famous Brooklyn Bridge. The view of Manhattan in the light of the rising sun is magical! Fancy breakfast? Be sure to try the bagel creations at Ess-a-Bagel! Well fortified, let yourself drift through Manhattan - literally: take the free ferry to Staten Island, which will take you to the city’s landmark - Lady Liberty. It’s an incredible feeling to stand right in front of this graceful figure. From the ferry, you have a fantastic view of the skyline, whose skyscrapers glitter in the sunlight. Back on land, we head to another must-see: the 9/11 Memorial (optional, payable on site), which commemorates the attacks of September 11, 2001. At Ground Zero, where the Twin Towers once stood, there are now two fountains that make the gap clearly visible. The best place to end the afternoon is Greenwich Village. It is teeming with pretty boutiques, vintage stores and cozy cafés.

One big highlight is still missing: Central Park! New York’s green lung is a must-see on any trip! And luckily it’s not far away. Here you can escape the urban jungle for a while. With a coffee in hand, make yourself comfortable on a park bench and observe life away from the hustle and bustle before taking a closer look at Midtown Manhattan. In addition to the famous Empire State Building and the Flatiron Building, you’ll also find plenty of food trucks that will make your culinary heart beat faster.

Today it’s time to say goodbye to New York. But not without a walk through one of the most extraordinary parks in the world: the High Line Park! At a height of 9 meters, you can stroll through the green park between skyscrapers. Sounds crazy? It is! Because the park was built on an old elevated railway line. Have you had another rest? Then it’s time to make your way to the station. The Amtrak train is just coming to a halt on the tracks and you make yourself comfortable at the window. Small towns and large cities, green landscapes and pure wilderness alternate along the train route. After a good three hours, it’s time to say: "Next stop - Washington, D.C."!

Your destination? Key West! Suddenly it’s in front of you: the Overseas Highway. The road in front of you and nothing around you but the sea glistening in the sun. What a feeling! A whole 200 kilometers and more than 40 bridges lead you to the end of the highway. Unbelievable, isn’t it? When you finally arrive, all that’s left to do is get into your swimsuit and head to the beach! Fortunately, the Florida Keys are only ever a stone’s throw away.
