We will take you on an exciting journey from Tuxtla Gutierrez airport to the Grijalva River, where you will navigate through the Sumidero Canyon, an impressive geological formation that houses a unique diversity of flora and fauna. Afterwards, we will travel to the historic colonial city of San Cristobal de Las Casas, located 2,300 meters above sea level, founded in 1528 by Captain Diego de Mazariegos. Upon arrival in San Cristobal de Las Casas, you will check into the hotel and have the rest of the day to explore and discover this charming city by yourself. At night, you will stay at the hotel, ready to continue your adventure the next day.

After breakfast, we set off on our journey to the indigenous communities of the Tzotzil ethnic group. First, we arrive in Chamula, where we have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in a world of unique traditions and culture. We will learn about the fusion of contemporary traditions and ancestral Mayan characteristics that make this place so special. Then, we head to Zinacantán, where we will visit the church and a family cooperative house. There, we’ll be welcomed with a regional drink and have the opportunity to see how women work the waist loom of pre-Columbian times. After seeing the samples of what they produce, we will be invited to their kitchen, where, if we are lucky, we will have the chance to taste the delicious handmade tortillas. At the end, we return to San Cristóbal de Las Casas and explore this beautiful city on a city tour. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy this city full of history and culture. We will spend the night in the city.

In the morning, we depart from San Cristobal de las Casas towards Montebello Lakes. Our first stop will be at the indigenous pottery community of Amatenango del Valle. Then, we head to the Chiflón waterfall, a natural waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation. Finally, we visit Mexico’s most beautiful lake area: Montebello Lakes, a natural reserve composed of several hectares of pines, oaks, and jungle. If the weather permits, we can admire the different shades of water in the lakes. We return to San Cristobal de las Casas and check into our accommodation.

Upon waking up early in the morning, we embark on an epic journey to Palenque, with a stop at the breathtaking Agua Azul waterfalls. There, you can admire its crystalline waters and enjoy the natural beauty of its different areas. We continue our adventure to the majestic Misol-Há waterfalls, with its impressive 30-meter height and surrounded by lush tropical jungle. Finally, we visit the archaeological site of Palenque, a Mayan city famous for its rich architecture and sculpture. Here you can admire impressive constructions such as The Palace, The Temple of the Foliated Cross, The Temple of the Sun, and many more. Day 5 Palenque - Yaxchilán - Bonampak - Jungle Campament

We leave the hotel at dawn to Frontera Corozal, where we embark on an exciting expedition on the Usumacinta River. During this hour-long navigation, we can contemplate the natural beauty of the region and visit the impressive archaeological site of Yaxchilán. It’s an opportunity to connect with history and nature, and to immerse ourselves in the culture and history of this impressive civilization. Then, we move to the impressive archaeological site of Bonampak, where we can admire the spectacular murals of the ancient Maya world. It’s a unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in the culture and history of this fascinating civilization. Finally, we head towards the Lacandon camp, where we will discover more about the history and culture of this fascinating region. Get ready to live an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Mayan jungle!
Day 6 Jungle Campament - Palenque

Jungle Campament - Palenque

After breakfast, we will begin an exciting rafting descent down the Lacanjá River. Despite the lack of rapids, this journey is spectacular due to the waterfalls and pond we will encounter along the way, as well as the lush vegetation of the tropical jungle. During the ride, we will also have the opportunity to visit Mayan archaeological sites and, with luck, spot some jungle animals. Once we finish the descent, we will return to the campsite for a meal (fixed menu, drinks not included). In the afternoon, we will transfer to the city of Palenque to rest and prepare for another day of adventure.
Day 7 Palenque - La Venta Museum - Villahermosa Airport

After breakfast, we head to Villahermosa with great enthusiasm to visit "La Venta" Museum, a place full of history and beauty. It houses one of the most impressive collections of Olmec Culture pieces, divided into four categories: altars, stelae, sculptures, and colossal heads. Each piece is a masterpiece of pre-Columbian culture that transports us to an ancient world full of mysteries and wisdom. We can’t wait to see these wonders with our own eyes and immerse ourselves in history. Finally, we will transfer to the city airport to take the return flight with a mind full of unforgettable memories.

Remember, flight tickets not included and your departure from Villahermosa must be after 05:00 pm. otherwise, additional charge will apply to the price.
