Day 1 Gamarjoba, Georgia!

Meeting at the airport (Tbilisi, Kutaisi) with a sign -

Those who fly to Vladikavkaz - meet at the airport with a sign, and transfer to the hotel (it is desirable to choose this route a day earlier before the tour. Meeting in Vladikavkaz is not included in the tour price).

Transfer to the hotel from the airport, check-in from 14:00.

In the afternoon at approximately 15:00 - walking tour of Tbilisi.

We will get acquainted with Tbilisi and its history, go up by cable car to Narikala Fortress, visit the area of sulphur baths, old streets of Tbilisi and its oldest architectural sights.

After an impressive walk around the city, already with more information we move to the Georgian feast.

General welcome dinner, we gather all at one table, learn how to make toasts, Georgian traditions of feasting, traditions of Georgian cuisine, dances and songs.
Day 2 The Wine Tour

In the morning, after a noisy evening we should again be ready to receive a new flow of information, impressions and natural beauty.

Today our way lies to the region, famous for its winery, also for its wine "Alazan Valley", but we will not drink this wine in Georgia, but we will stop your attention on vintage wines of premium quality.

The way to the winery is long and it lies through Gombor pass (height 1692 m above sea level) and 2 hours of travelling. For those who are not good with serpentines, the way is not easy.

The first town in the Alazani valley is Telavi. We will drive through the city streets of the ancient town, but we will not linger.

We will visit the most ancient Platanus, which is more than 900 years old, remember the film MIMINO and again behind the Tree of Life.

Do you know what culture is the "tree of life" for Georgians? No, well, we will talk about it throughout our tour and even more so today.

Tsinandali is the estate of the Chavchavadze family, the first winery in Georgia since 1841. We will take a walk around the estate, visit the museum of the prince’s house, the enoteca of Alexander Chavchavadze and continue on our way to discover Georgian wine further.

Shumi or Graneli Winery - premium wine tasting. Wine tasting at the producer’s factory, the cost is the best on site.

After the extensive tasting, it is also worthwhile to refresh yourself for the end of the day before returning to Tbilisi. We taste excellent Kakhetian dishes, dana and more.

Return to Tbilisi - a 2 hour journey on a straight road.
Day 3 The Majestic Kazbek

Breakfast at the hotel from 8:00 to 10:00. Departure from the hotel towards Kazbek at 10:00, meeting in the hotel lobby at 9:45.

Today we will see the beautiful panoramas of the Caucasus Range, the famous military-Georgian road. Our way lies outside the city on the western exit from Tbilisi, the first stop is at the Zhinvali Reservoir.

A beautiful view will open before you of rivers merging into one beautiful lake between mountains covered with mossy forest, emerald water shining through the sun rays and golden sunshine.

Beautiful shots for those who love to capture nature. You can try on accessories of local national dress and take memorable photos.

At the beginning of the reservoir, above the azure shore rises a fortress of unprecedented years, like a guardian between the mountain road.

Ananuri fortress remembers many historical events and the perfectly preserved upper fortress will tell us about the events that took place here several hundred years ago.

Ananuri fortress is known as the impregnable wall protecting the northern gate of the country.

After the historical story, we head higher into the mountains and meet the confluence of the Black and White Aragvi on the way. Depending on the season, the two rivers merging have different colours and the confluence of contrasting water is a small miracle on our way.

We pass on the way the famous ski resort Gudauri, formerly there was a post office to change horses. The resort is new, but the most developed in terms of infrastructure ski resort in modern Georgia.

We will drive a bit and stop at the Friendship of Peoples observation deck, a creation of Tsereteli’s hands.

Tsereteli towers over the canyon with the beginning of the Aragvi River.

We reached the highest point of our journey 2932m above sea level. - Cross pass, velour meadows, the beginning of the Terek and summer pastures for sheep.

After the pass we descend into the gorge to the sleeping volcano Kazbek.

At the foot of it on the slope of the mountain there is a settlement of urban type - Stepantsminda. The last settlement before the border with North Ossetia (Alania). Beautiful views on the mountain chain - gives an opportunity to expand this town and different hotels are built.

We do not linger in the town, but rush to the height of 2200 m to the church of St. Trinity Gergeti. It is a male monastery complex from the 14th century at the foot of the majestic Kazbek.

After the mind-blowing views we start to return to the hotel. But on the way we will stop for dinner. Return to Tbilisi takes more than 3 hours.
Day 4 Mtskheta

Breakfast at the hotel from 8:00 and check out with your belongings towards west Georgia at 10:00, meeting in the hotel lobby at 9:45/.

Today is a day of active history, legends and tales. The tale of Georgia continues with our tale of ancient kings and queens, heroes and conquerors. About people who have been living and defending their land for thousands of years.

The city of Mtskheta is located not far from Tbilisi, 40 km from the centre of the capital.

The first stop we will visit is the Jvari Monastery Complex - we used to read poems about it in our childhood, we were told about the confluence of the legendary Aragvi and Kura rivers.

Thanks to M. Lermontov this place is on everyone’s lips, but not everyone knows about the real history of this place, even in Georgia.

We will visit Jvari Monastery, which has been rising above the confluence for 1500 years. This is where Georgian culture was born and continues to amaze onlookers to this day with its unassailable and tranquil appearance.

Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia, has been a centre of attraction for religion and trade since the time of the earliest people. The creation of the Kartli tribes and their spread to all regions of modern Georgia started from here.

We will visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral - the temple of the "Life-Giving Pillar", which is under UNESCO protection.

Uplistsikhe - cave city of ancient Georgia since the 8th century B.C. This place attracted people and here they prayed to different Gods, places of capitals and sacrifices, ancient culture mixed with Christianity.

The whole history of religions, cultures, kings and hero myths. How people lived in cave cities with water channels, sewerage systems and structured government.

We will talk more about all of this on site (visiting the cave city requires sporty non-skid shoes, we will be climbing up the mountain).

After a big walk and tasting of local wine we can refresh ourselves. Ahead of us we have a 1.5 hour drive.

Borjomi is a balneological resort of Georgia, one of the most popular resort places with spa procedures.

We will walk through the historical park, taste cold and hot natural Borjomi. The place is small, we will not linger here, but continue our way further.

If there is rain or bad weather, we will stop here the next day.

Check-in to the hotel in the town of Akhaltsikhe, here we stay at Malkhazi’s guesthouse. Our favourite guest house with the most hospitable hosts.

We can savour a dinner with fresh trout and local traditional dishes. We will need to book in the morning so the hosts can prepare.
Day 5 Colchis

Breakfast at the hotel from 9:00, departure at 10:00.

In the morning we visit the biggest fortress of Javakheti region - Rabat Fortress - the biggest restored fortress in Georgia, the scale of works done will not leave anyone indifferent.

The history of Meskheti region is very rich and it was one of the first to adopt Christianity back in the 1st century AD. The restored trading town at the crossroads on the silk road will tell us about the mixture of Muslim and Christian culture.

Green Trekking to the Green Monastery of St George. A walk through the forest to the shrine. After visiting the holy places the road along the pass to the city of Kutaisi opens before us. The journey takes approximately 3 hours.

Time to have a rest, watch thematic films and get ready to get acquainted with the history and culture of already Western Georgia - Kolkheti kingdom.

Gelati Monastery - the academy of sciences of the 12th century, the crown of cathedrals of the golden age of Georgia. The tomb of Bagration and mysterious burial places of our kings. The Church of the Dormition of the Virgin has preserved the magnificent paintings of the temple of different epochs.

How religion and science were combined on a small land? We will learn and discover many secrets of world outlook of the period of David the Builder and Tsarina Tamara.

Kutaisi is a 3500 years old city, the former capital of Georgia and the centre of the Kolkheti civilisation. Even the ancient Greeks wrote myths and legends about these places about their Gods and famous heroes.

The change of the city in different epochs left a trace on the culture of these places. All this can be seen in the archaeological excavations around the city.

A sightseeing walk around Kutaisi - under the evening lights will leave a pleasant aftertaste after a long journey.

Day 6 Canyons

Breakfast at the hotel from 8:30 and we prepare to leave as early as possible with our belongings.

Departure from the hotel at 9:30, we do not prepare for a long journey, but instead run to the bazaar for cheese, spices, churchkhelas and fresh fruit.

This is the most delicious bazaar (market) in the whole country. Spices can be bought at first hand and are the freshest. Bring your snake coulees with you, we still have a long drive ahead of us and the spices smell so good!

First meeting with the mythical hero Prometheus, aka Amiran in Georgia.

According to legend, he was chained to the Caucasus Mountains, and the locals have memorised the exact location of the Greek hero. And under these mountains is a huge number of castellated caves, which gave birth to Georgian stories related to these same heroes.

Martvili Canyon - an unforgettable walk through the canyon gives a lot of impressions, for lovers of photography amazing pictures. The emerald water of the Abasha River will not leave your eyes without admiration.

A boat trip is possible in good weather and if the water level is not high. The rays of the sun penetrating through the dense leaves of the forest cover over the canyon give this place mystery.

After an amazing walk through the canyon we will head towards the town of Zugdidi, here we will have a small stop for a snack before the long but enchanting road of Svaneti. There is a palace of Dadiani family in the town, but we will visit it on the way back and pay attention to it later.

The road to Svaneti is one of the most beautiful roads in our country, it is worth seeing and feeling.

For those who can’t stand the road well, it is better to stock up on anti-sickness medication. But this road is worth the attention. We will stop several times to admire the beauty of nature and have a rest along the way.

Approximately time on the way from Zugdidi city takes 3 hours, on the way you will watch thematic films.

Check-in to the hotel and be prepared we will not be able to get to the hotel. We will be met at the foot of the mountain, where the old part of the town of Mestia is located. This is the oldest part of the town, built since the 8th century, with authentic style houses and hotels nestled among the Svan towers.

Our hotel is opened by the owner of the house where his family has lived since the 8th century. We will be surrounded by 8th-9th century towers, while the modern interior and room amenities will create a unique cosiness.

We will arrive in the evening, it may already be dark, we can have dinner at the hotel, there is a delicious restaurant for the whole area.
Day 7 Svanetia

We arrived in the stone jungle, in the harsh life at night, you can’t see anything in the neighbourhood, but you know that the mountain tops are towering around you.

Morning. We get up not very early to have a rest after a difficult journey, looking out of the window in front of you there are snow-capped peaks of mossy mountains and many towers standing like tin soldiers guarding their houses and family names.

Breakfast at the hotel is from 9:00 to 11:00, but we will not waste any time to have time to enjoy as much of this enchanting region as possible.

Today a new member of our team, a local guide and lovely person Jemali, is waiting for us. We will get acquainted with him with local traditions, history, stories about local life.

Our way lies now on jeeps to Ushguli community. This is the most remote place of this region. We will visit the temple of St.Lamaria (Virgin Mary) on the background of Shkhara mountain. This is the highest mountain rising above the mountains of the Caucasus Range in the territory of Sakatrvelo.

A hike up to Kheshkili swing, after the jeep tour will give you a chance to recover a little and admire another unforgettable place not far from Mestia.

Viewing platform on Ushba mountain, a café above the mountain peaks and bottomless gorges.

We return to the hotel to gain strength, in the evening we will gather and share our impressions.
Day 8 Colchis Lowland

What a great night’s sleep in the fresh air, but it’s time to get up and go down for breakfast.

Breakfast at the hotel from 9:00. After breakfast we gather by 10:00 for departure. We want to stay, but there is a SEA waiting for us..... Remember that we have to overcome again the road to the lowlands, but the descent is always easier than the ascent.

Transfer to Batumi departure from 10:00 - 10:30 On the way we will stop at the largest arch HPP - Engurskaya HPP, it took the fifth place in the world on its scale.

On the way we will see more than once a beautiful reservoir with green-milky water. This is the Enguri River together with its children - small rivulets.

We will continue our way and if today is not Monday we will visit the princes of Dadiani. The beautiful palace of the 19th century has to go for restoration, I hope this season we will still be able to look at interesting rooms and household items of the owners, there is also a posthumous mask of Napoleon.

How it got here we will learn on excursion in the palace or near it. The palace also keeps unique exhibits of the gold fund of different periods of the country.

The most important is the shirt of the Virgin Mary. We will learn a lot about the Virgin Mary and her patronage of our country, but for now we continue on our way.

We have 2 hours left to Batumi, we can refresh ourselves and taste wonderful Mengrelian cuisine. You will not taste such food anywhere else.

After arriving in Batumi, check-in at the hotel Old Batumi, which is located in the old town, we release you and you are free to do what you want, walk as you want, if of course there is still strength left.

Batumi at night is very attractive and we advise you not to stay in your rooms but enjoy a walk.
Day 9 Batumi

Breakfast at the hotel c 8:00, here we advise you to get up early and grab the sun, the beach. By the way, 800 metres from the hotel perfectly equipped beach.

Free morning, sea, beach. after the beach you can have a quick snack before the excursion.

The sightseeing tour at lunch 2 hours. After the opportunity to have lunch with the whole group at the fish market, where you will taste the freshest fish and any seafood (at the request of the group) or look in a local khachapurskaya for the legendary Adjarian khachapuri.

The evening is free.
Day 10 Returning

Returning

Breakfast at the hotel from 8:00, also don’t miss the chance to take a dip in the clear sea in the morning. The morning is free, and at noon we’ll hide from the heat and drive to the Botanical Gardens for some great photos.

Here for the evening grab your swimming costumes and we’ll go down to the wild beach in the banana grove. All this of course, weather permitting.
