      Today you will visit Malacca, the place where Malaysiaโ€™s history began. The city is one of the countryโ€™s most important historical landmarks. The Portuguese, Dutch and English ruled over Malacca. The ruins and buildings of the conquerors can still be visited today. Visit St. Peterโ€™s Church (1710), the oldest Christian church still in use in Malaysia, and drive past the largest Chinese cemetery (17th century) outside of China. Afterwards, visit the famous "Porta de Santiago" gate and the ruins of St. Paulโ€™s Church. Continue to "Dutch Square" with the Stadhuys, a salmon-colored Dutch administration building, which today houses the Malacca Museum and state authorities. Visit the Christ Church and the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, also known as the "Domicile of the Merciful Clouds". In Cheng Hoon Teng you will find the three most important religious doctrines (Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism) under one roof. On the same street is the Kampung Kling Mosque, the oldest mosque in the country with architectural features such as the so-called Meru roof, which is also used for Hindu temples. Continue to the Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, a showcase of the local history of the Chinese-Malay ethnic group, also known as Baba-Nyonya. Take a walk along Jonker Street with its beautiful antique stores. In the afternoon, drive to Kuala Lumpur (arrival approx. 15.00 hrs) and check-in at the hotel.       The morning is free for you to explore on your own. At 2 p.m. drive to the old town of Kuala Lumpur - take a journey into the cityโ€™s past. The tour starts at Independence Square and will take you to some historical landmarks. Your guide will tell you some interesting facts about the history of Kuala Lumpur. At the end of the tour, you will be driven to the Petronas Twin Towers*** (this is where your driver/guide service ends for the day), where you will enjoy a birdโ€™s eye view of the city on your own and equipped with tickets. Afterwards, you can explore the city on your own - we recommend, for example, a visit to the food court at Suria KLCC Mall, where you can sample the diverse Malaysian cuisine with its various influences from all over Asia to your heartโ€™s content.

      Today you drive to the Cameron Highlands. The Cameron Highlands are 1542 meters above sea level and are known for their tea plantations and cool temperatures. On the way there, visit the Batu Caves, the sacred cave temples of the Hindus. Take a short break at the Lata Iskandar waterfall before continuing to the Cameron Highlands. Check in at the hotel, then free time at leisure. [205km, approx. 4 hours driving time excl. stops]

      Today you will go on an exploration tour to the Cameron Highlands. These were used as a cool retreat in the highlands during British colonization. Continue the tour to Mt. Brinchang, the highest peak in the Cameron Highlands at 2032 meters, which you will reach by off-road vehicle. Once there, you will climb up to the lookout tower, where you will be rewarded with a fantastic view over the entire region. In the early morning or when the temperature rises quickly, you will experience how white mist covers the entire forest. Drive down the hill and visit one of the strawberry farms, where you can pick your own fresh and juicy strawberries for a small fee. Then continue to the picturesque tea plantation: the Sungei Palas Bo estate is considered the largest and most famous tea plantation in the region. Enjoy the view over seemingly endless hills planted with tea bushes. After a tea break, take a short tour of a tea factory*** before being taken back to the hotel.

      From the cool highlands of the Cameron Highlands, the journey continues today to the tropical Belum Valley. On the way, you will stop at the royal city of Kuala Kangsar to take a look at the Ubudiah Mosque, the Iskandariah and the Kenangan Palace. During the rest of todayโ€™s stage, you will make a short stop in Bukit Merah and visit the local sanctuary for orangutan monkeys in need of help. Cross the river to Orang Utan Island. Here you will learn a lot about this endangered species of ape, about breeding and research. After arrival and check-in at your hotel, the rest of the day is at your leisure.

      Today takes you deep into the jungle of Belum National Park, the most extensive forest reserve on the Malaysian peninsula with significant flora and fauna. You will travel by boat to one of the indigenous tribes, the Orang Asli, which means indigenous people (Malay Orang = man; asli = original or original) and is a collective term for the various indigenous people in the interior of the Malay Peninsula. You go on a short hike through the jungle on foot. With a bit of luck, you may see the worldโ€™s largest wildflower, Rafflesia. Afterwards, you will stop for a small picnic/lunch.

      Enjoy time at a waterfall in one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world. Then return to the hotel - the rest of the day is at your leisure.

      After breakfast, drive across Lake Temenggor towards Penang, also known as the Pearl of the Orient. Here you can experience the diversity of Asian culture in the smallest of spaces. The capital Georgetown with its beautiful historic district has a lot to offer: Mosques, churches, Hindu and Chinese-Buddhist temples. Ancient and modern go hand in hand here.
      On arrival, check into your hotel. Later you will explore the sights of the city on foot for approx. 2 hours and by the traditional means of transportation in Georgetown, the rickshaw.
