Transport

transfer from/to all major Rovaniemi hotels to the starting point of the safari please note that Arctic Snow Hotel is not included as a pick-up location at this point alternatively, transfer from train station or airport to the start point of the safari return transfer after the conclusion of the expedition back to all major hotels within the Rovaniemi area

Accommodation

full board 3 night accommodation in hotel (twin rooms) or cabin (rooms might have shared facilities). Please note that the images are only a few examples of the accommodation that can be used, but we avoid chain hotels, opting for accommodation that would be used by a froup of Finnish snowmobilers on their regular snowmobiling trips sauna located in the wilderness and always great possibilities to see the Northern lights without light pollution of the city

Insurance

All our snowmobiles and participants are insured for 3rd party accidents and bodily injuries In the unlikely event of a damaged to the snowmobile by the participant, a self-liability is a flat amount of 900 EUR which will be covered upon returning from the expedition to the safari center

Flights

International flights are not included We advise that the guests would add a pre-night so they are well rested before the expedition begins, but some of our guests preffer to arrive on the morning of the expedition start

If you wish to add pre- or post-night and activities such as reindeers, huskies or ice fishing, it can be agreed seperately with the Wild Nordic sales representative Additional requests such as adjustment of steering wheel or wishes based on previous experiences from motocycle, enduro biking, snow motocycle or snowmobiling can also be addressed to Wild Nordic sales representatives and we will do our best to realize those

      Day 1: Getting To Know Your Snowmobile (Daily Distance ~ 140 Km)

      We will pick you up in the morning from your hotel, the airport or train station in Rovaniemi. Preparations start immediately as we take you to the start point of the expedition, our Wild Nordic safari center. You will be provided with professional thermal snowmobiling outfits (trousers, jacket, woolen socks, boots, scarf, commando hat/balaclava and gloves), driving equipment and a snowmobiling box for your personal supplies needed during the tour. The box will be attached to your snowmobile as the rest of your luggage will be kept in Rovaniemi in luggage storage. 

      Wild Nordic has the best riding gear for expeditions in Europe and we focus on safety heavily, providing detailed brefing of the track, weather conditions and driving instructions before departing to the wilderness. 

      While you get used to your snowobile, you will enjoy a full day snowmobiling away from the crowded tracks of the Lappish cities. The guide will choose the way according to participants skills and experience and lunch will be provided on the way without breaking the momentum of the snowmobiling. 

      After a full day of snowmobiling, you will arrive to your local accommodation, where you will have time to relax, enjoy traditional Finnish sauna and a delicious dinner (3-courses) or if you prefer to enjoy a warm drink in front of a fireplace (if possible).

      Day 2: In The Company Of Arctic Animals (Daily Distance 80-120 Km)

      After a fulfilling breakfast, you have a full day of snowobiling on beautiful tracks, where you will rarely meet anyone except a lonely local snowmobiler or two. There is several different tracks available, with amazing viewpoints for pictures and the guide will take you on the most suitable track. Lunch will be provided on the way, barely a step away from the tracks and the day wil lead you to an area knows for itโ€™s heavy reindeer presence, so keep your eyes open for spotting these Lappish animals. 

      The difference between local accommodation we prefer from day to day is astounding, each showing a different side of Lapland. On the second night, we will sleep in the company of reindeer herders and enjoy the company of locals, who gather in the hotel as well as tourists. Ice swimming is also possible on this day and your guide can help you with instructions.

      After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to the reindeer headquarters and start the snowmobiling expedition early, going very close to the Russian border. After about 145 kilometers of track driving and a fulfilling lunch on the way, we will have a late afternoon arrival to our local accommodation in Suomu, where we have taken care that there is a sauna and pool waiting for you to soak the snowmobiling muscles. After sauna, only dinner will be wanted (3-courses) and a good night sleep overlooking the famous Suomu skiing tracks. 

  • Day 4 Day 4: Conquering The Longest Day (Daily Distance ~150 Km)

      Day 4: Conquering The Longest Day (Daily Distance ~150 Km)

      After breakfast, we will embark on the last day of snowmobiling, when are guests are usually already proficient in keeping the speed for maximum enjoyment of the tracks. Distance wise, this will be the longest day and it will take us back to Rovaniemi, to our starting point, with lunch in between. After arriving back to the safari center and changing into your own winter clothing, you will be awarded the Great Adventure Certificate by your guide. The certificate confirms that you have officially made it to the finish line of the Arctic Expedition. You will be transfered to your hotel for the post-nights or airport/train station, if you are leaving us immediately after the expedition.
