If you do choose to rent, please note that there is a 3h hike to a waterfall where the rental will not be available. Hiking shoes must be sturdy, have good ankle support and must have thick soles for walking on volcanic rock and enough space to put the crampons on for your glacier hikes. Timberland shoes will not be accepted. Luggage storage +โ‚ฌ28 Choose this option if you have more than one 20 kg suitcase (hard or soft-shell) and one day pack. It will be left behind at a secure storage area. Itinerary of your trip 6 Day - Around Iceland Adventure

  • Day 1 Day 1: Golden Circle & South Coast - Seljalandsfoss, Reynisfjara, Skogafoss

      Day 1: Golden Circle & South Coast - Seljalandsfoss, Reynisfjara, Skogafoss

      We will spend the first day of this round tour exploring the famous Golden Circle. The Golden Circle includes the UNESCO Heritage site Thingvellir National park, Geysir hot spring as well as the mighty Gullfoss waterfall. After visiting theses three top attractions we will make our way towards the South Coast of the island en route to our accommodation for the night. We will have the chance to visit both Seljalandsfoss and Skรณgafoss waterfalls as well as the magnificent Reynisfjara black sand beach before heading to our accommodation close to the village of Kirkjubรฆjarklaustri.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Vatnajokull & Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon

      Day 2: Vatnajokull & Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon

      Glaciers are on todayโ€™s agenda! As we keep on with our ring road adventure and move further South-East we will pass Mรฝrdalsjรถkull glacier and drive throughvast lava fields before reaching Skaftafell National Park which is part of Vatnajรถkull National Park where Europeโ€™s largest glacier lies. Once there we will start our glacier exploration, setting off for a glacier hike on one of Vatnajรถkuls outlet glaciers. After our hike we will be stopping at the popular Jรถkulsรกrlรณn Glacier Lagoon where you can explore the lagoon that is covered with floating ice bergs. Our accommodation for the night will be in in South East.

  • Day 3 Day 3: East Fjords - Djupivogur, Egilsstadir:

      Day 3: East Fjords - Djupivogur, Egilsstadir:

      Today we will explore the East Fjords of Iceland. We continue threading our way along the coastline, driving some narrow roads around Hvalnes, a magnificent and remote peninsula, and the stretch around the รžvottรกrskriรฐur landslides between Lรณns and รlftafjarรฐar.

      We will stop at Djรบpivogur, a traditional small fishing village that is also home to a fine outdoor sculpture, Eggin รญ Gleรฐivรญk (meaning The Eggs of Merry Bay).

      After a full day of exploration, unwind at the Wilderness Center! This unique accommodation, just 40 minutes from Egilsstaรฐir, offers a cozy overnight stay. Immerse yourself in the local history at their wilderness museum, then soothe your muscles in the complimentary hot pots. Winter transforms the area into an aurora borealis wonderland, so keep your eyes peeled for the dazzling Northern Lights!

  • Day 4 Day 4: Lake Mรฝvatn Area;

      Your trip will start with a visit to Studlagil Canyon, famous for its dramatic basalt columns flanking a turquoise glacial river. Next, youโ€™ll traverse the wilderness of Mรถรฐrudalur valley.


      Reaching the Lake Mรฝvatn area, youโ€™ll have the option to relax in the geothermal waters of the Mรฝvatn Nature Baths. The main event here is exploring the stunning landscape around the lake. This includes Nรกmaskarรฐ, a geothermal wonderland with colorful fumaroles and mud pots. Youโ€™ll also see Hverfjall, an almost perfectly symmetrical volcanic crater, and Dimmuborgir, a vast lava field with intriguing lava tubes.ยญ 

      The vast and dreamy crescent-shaped waterfall - Goรฐafoss, is the last stop of the day before we journey to Eyjafjรถrรฐur, an outstandingly beautiful fjord with high mountains.

      Our accommodation for the night will be at a country hotel in Akureyri. You will also have a chance to explore the fishing town in the north. Your guide will help you find Northern Lights viewing areas near the hotel from November to March.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Whale Watching In North Iceland - Dalvik, Siglufjordur:

      Day 5: Whale Watching In North Iceland - Dalvik, Siglufjordur:

      In the morning, you will get a chance to explore Akureyri, the capital of the North, before we go for a 3 hour whale watching tour from Dalvรญk where whale sightings are quite common. The most common whales being spotted in that area, are humpback whales.  After your whale watching adventure, we will make our way to the cosy village of Siglufjรถrรฐur and around the mountainous Trรถllaskagi peninsula before arriving at Laugarbakki where we spend our last night of this tour.

  • Day 6 Day 6: West Iceland - Borgarfjรถrรฐur

      Day 6: West Iceland - Borgarfjรถrรฐur

      On the 6th day of the tour we head to Borgarfjรถrรฐur in West Iceland, an area voted as one of the best destinations by Lonely Planet in 2016. Borgarfjรถrรฐur has a lot to show and we will visit some of the best natural and historical stops. Deildartunguhver hot spring is on our list as well as two waterfalls: Barnafoss (also known as the Childrenโ€™s waterfall) and Hraunfossar which emerges in low cascades straight from a lava field. Before ending the day with scenic views of Hvalfjรถrรฐur (Whale Fjord) we will also stop at Reykholt, a historic site that was once home to a famous Icelandic historian, lawyer, politician, author of some of the Icelandic Sagas, and poet Snorri Sturluson. We expect to arrive in the city around 5 โ€“ 6 pm.
