      Day 1

      YANGON (ARRIVAL)

      Upon arrival, the marking point for nice walking is on the strand road, near STRAND HOTEL and CENTRAL POST. Go on walking to PANSODAN JETTY and see how people load and unload things for trading by the famous river port. Walk pass many local shops of the busy city and Yangons somehow Dickensian colonial buildings. Some are yellow and green with age and mosses but still impressive. Discover gold shops in Shwe Bontha Street and observe how people love gold in order to save money in Myanmar. There are important administrative buildings such as HIGH COURT and CITY HALL. Visit SULE PADOGA, dating back over 2000 years. Walk up to BOGYOKE (SCOTTS) MARKET where you will find hundreds of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems stores (closed on Mondays and on public holidays). Until the late afternoon time is at your disposal, then set out for SHWEDAGON PAGODA complete your Myanmar impressions with a visit to one of the worlds most spectacular monuments.                       YANGON (CIRCULAR TRAIN) After breakfast, drive to central railway station of Yangon. Hop on a train full of locals, sellers, kids, monks, travelers of all sorts and venture out a journey to Hantharwaddy Station. This is the way to truly experience the Myanmars important transport which is not up to the international level yet. Walk from Hantharwaddy station to Hantharwaddy market, full of goods and sellers of fresh foods and observe the current prices of rice, meat, and vegetables and have a peep into the daily cost of Myanmar kitchens. Go and have lunch at 100-year old colonial house filled with furniture and remnants of General Aung Sans (the father of Aung San Su Kyi) revolutionary period and observe Myanmar history of the revolutionary period.Transfer to the bus station.Overnight Bus Yangon - Bagan.

      YANGON  BAGAN,After early breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for the domestic flight. On arrival in Bagan continue the day with visits to the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan including SHWEZIGON PAGODA, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine; KU BYANUK GYI, a temple with superb murals of Jataka scenes; KHAY MIN GA TEMPLE, noted for its panoramic view of the areas numerous monuments and ANANDA TEMPLE, with four standing Buddha images. After lunch at the hotel you will have the chance to visit one of Myanmars most treasured handicrafts making location, a lacquer ware craftsmens workshop in nearby MYINKABA village. After the visit you will continue to MANUHA TEMPLE, built in the Mon-style in 1059 and follow on to NANBAYA TEMPLE, a unique sandstone monument said to have been the palace of King Manuha. Next you will explore the MYINGABA GU BYAUKGYI TEMPLE, a temple noteworthy for its mural paintings. Time permitting the ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM is also visited to view the beautiful Buddha images of bronze, stone and lacquer.Overnight stay in Bagan.

      BAGAN  MOUNT POPA  BAGAN</p><p>Your car will be waiting to take you on a 50 km drive (1  hours) to Mount POPA, an extinct volcano with spectacular views. Mount Popa is popular pilgrimage destination for the Myanmar people. The local people travel here from far away to worship various animist spirits known as nats. 777 steps lead up to the shrine placed on top of the steep Popa peak. Depending on your level of fitness you can climb them.After lunch at POPA MOUNTAIN RESORT, where you will also have a wonderful view over the surrounding region, drive back to Bagan through several local villages and observe the daily life of the people and the toddy palm plantations. Transfer back to your hotel for relax time and dinner.Overnight stay in Bagan.

       BAGAN  HEHO  PINDAYA  INLE LAKE,  After breakfast, transfer to Mandalay airport with your car for a domestic flight to HEHO. Upon arrival to Heho airport, proceed by car to to PINDAYA (59 km  2 hour) along a narrow and bumpy road. Visit PINDAYA CAVES, a unique site housing thousands of Buddha images placed there by devotees and pilgrims over the centuries.After lunch at local restaurant, drive to NYAUNG SHWE (90 km  3 hours) and transfer to your hotel on INLE LAKE onboard a long tail boat.Dinner will be served at your hotel. Overnight on Inle Lake.

       INLE LAKE, After breakfast, a full day excursion by boat on Inle Lake will include sights of the famous leg rowers, typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing, village life and magnificent scenery. In the morning visits are made to PHAUNGDAW OO PAGODA and to one of the local markets in the Inle Lake region (on market days only). Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, board again your boat and head to the Western Shore of Inle Lake, where you will find the beginning of a stair path leading to the well hidden INN THEIN PAGODA complex. After visiting this incredible religious complex return to your hotel by boat.</p><p>Overnight on the Bus to Mandalay.

                   INLE  MANDALAY, Kiplings Mandalay is at the heart of the country and it is also the center of Buddhism in Myanmar. As Mandalay city is blessed with the presence of 20000 monks, most Buddhist houses cook food for them and offer in the morning. Tradition of Mandalay is that in the early morning, many houses will offer freshly cooked rice & curries to the monks. On arrival, Lets do as Mandalayans do. Wake up early morning, leave your hotel before breakfast and join the local family on the road and offer some delicacies to the monk by yourself. Your tour guide will give you instructions on dos and donts such as not to physically touch the monks, not to wear shoes, not to talk to them and so on. After that, go on explore the food culture of the town. Have breakfast in the most famous tea shop of Mandalay, Min Thi Ha. There you will see hundreds of people, all walks of life having breakfast from the choice of hundreds of different food. Choose your morning meal there, sip a cup of tea mixed with condensed milk (you may adjust your taste)  and just listen to the buzzing sound of real life in Mandalay. Begin your nice walk near the biggest market of the country where more than twenty thousands of people come and trade every day except on Buddhist Sabbath Days. Roam around the market and observe the daily routine of the market.  Go to the monks accessories shops and learn about the eight requisites. Observe Myanmar traditional Medicine and their recipes (which you may call organic meds in the west) in the center of the market.In Myanmar peoples life, astrology plays a big role, starting from naming ceremony; give date for marriage, business consultancy and much more. Here is the chance to experience Myanmar astrology. There is a small lane at the southern entrance of Mahamuni temple filled with astrologers, drop in one of them and maketh thy future be known! (For most famous ones, you may need 3 days prior appointment). Then, walk inside Mahamuni temple; the holiest Buddha image believed to be touched by Buddhas hand during his life time and try to understand the monotonous lifestyle of Myanmar people on the pagoda platform.</p><p>Go for Lunch at Daung Lan Gyi, famous Myanmar typical restaurant.</p><p>In the afternoon, walk in the small lane of Tampawaddy quarter and learn the process of Bronze casting. You may witness as big bronze Buddha as 5-6 meter tall Buddha making, every step by hand, step of clay formation, wax application, bronze casting, reining and so on of countless interesting activities.</p><p>Continue to graceful Kuthodaw pagoda: famous as the worlds biggest book; the charming temple where entire Buddhist bible is engraved on the 729 marble stone slabs. For energetic, there is a chance to walk up to Mandalay hill (otherwise go up by car) and enjoy the panoramic view over Mandalay City.</p><p>Around 6 PM, before the fading light of the day loses its charm, walk quietly inside the Shwe Kyin monastery and listen to the Buddhist prayer by 100 monks up on the beautiful teak monastery.
