Arrival To Punta Arenas 22 Kms | 30 Minutes

Start your Patagonian adventure in the vibrant city of Punta Arenas, nestled at the southern tip of Chile.

Upon arrival at Presidente Carlos Ibรกรฑez del Campo International Airport (PUQ), our friendly contact will be waiting to greet you and hand over your rental car. Be sure to have your necessary documents, including a valid driverโ€™s license and passport, ready. A credit card is required to create a guarantee voucher for the vehicle, and youโ€™ll need to sign a rental contract before hitting the road.

With your rental car, you have the freedom to explore the wonders of Punta Arenas and beyond. In the afternoon, you can visit several fascinating places within the city.

      Here are some must-see attractions:

      • Plaza Muรฑoz Gamero: This central square is the heart of Punta Arenas, surrounded by historic buildings and featuring a monument to Ferdinand Magellan. Itโ€™s a great place to start your exploration and soak in the local atmosphere.
      • Cemetery of Punta Arenas: Known for its beautiful, ornate tombs and mausoleums, this cemetery offers a unique glimpse into the cityโ€™s history and heritage.
      • Nao Victoria Museum: Discover a replica of the ship that first circumnavigated the globe, along with exhibits on the age of exploration and local maritime history.
      • Mirador Cerro de la Cruz: Drive up to this viewpoint for panoramic views of the city, the Strait of Magellan, and, on a clear day, the island of Tierra del Fuego.
      • Magdalena Island Penguin Tour: If you have time, consider booking a tour to Magdalena Island to see the charming Magellanic penguins in their natural habitat.
      • Historic Center and Cemetery Sara Braun: Near the Muรฑoz Gamero Square are the Sara Braun and Braun Menรฉndez Palaces and other centenary mansions. 1.5 km away is the beautiful Sara Braun Municipal Cemetery, with splendid mausoleums, and 300 km from here is El Ovejero monument.
      • Park of the Strait of Magellan: A park located a little more than 56 km south of Punta Arenas in a sector with a great view of the Strait of Magellan. In its 250 hectares, it has a visitor center, a museum and guided trails with historical and scientific importance. One of its attractions is the high quality reconstruction of Fort Bulnes (1846), in the place where it was originally located.

After exploring Punta Arenas, youโ€™re ready to embark on the greater adventure of discovering Patagonia. With your rental car, you can journey to Puerto Natales, the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park, and other breathtaking destinations.

Discover Punta Arenas And Drive To Puerto Natales 250 Kms | 3 Hrs

With your rental car, you have the freedom to explore the wonders of Punta Arenas and beyond.

We start early in the morning, after having breakfast at your hotel and if the season permits it, navigate through the Strait of Magellan to visit the Los Pingรผinos Natural Monument, composed of the Magdalena and Marta islands, southeast of Punta Arenas (about 35 km).

There are two options to get there; embark by ferry from Tres Puentes (in Punta Arenas) and sail near the coast until you reach the island, or go on a semi-rigid covered boat, from Laredo Bay. The crossing also includes being able to see the sea lions of Isla Marta from the boat.

Once on Magdalena Island, there is the possibility of traversing it (87 hectares), to observe the colonies of cormorants, seagulls and penguins of Magellan, ending in a remarkable lighthouse, where the park ranger office is located (Oct to Mar from 8.30 to 17.30 h.)

On the way back to Punta Arenas, move along Independencia towards the west for about 6 km, to the Magallanes National Reserve. The route has a fork; to the southwest you will reach the Andean Club Ski Center after 3 km, which occupies the summit and the western slope of the Mirador Hill. It is the only ski center in the world with an ocean view. It has 14 tracks, a drag lift and a 1,200 m double chairlift, which during the summer is used to access the viewpoint (use of lift for non-members of the Andean Club).

At the end of the visits, drive towards Puerto Natales.

  • Day 3 Start The Adventure In Torres Del Paine - Visit Milodon Cave 120 Kms | 2 Hrs
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Start The Adventure In Torres Del Paine - Visit Milodon Cave 120 Kms | 2 Hrs

On this day after breakfast, head over to Torres del Paine National Park and the Milodon Cave Natural Monument.

From Puerto Natales, it is about 120 km to the Laguna Amarga Porter on Route 9. In the park there are about 100 km of vehicular routes, with detours and paths, to visit its main attractions, such as  Sarmiento, Nordenskjรถld and Pehoรฉ lakes, Amarga lagoon, the Mountain Range and Torres del Paine, the Salto Grande, the Salto Chico and the Grey Glacier.

You can also visit the Milodรณn Cave where the remains of a prehistoric animal were found in the last century.
