Itinerary of your trip Plymouth To Bilbao Pirates Weekend
- Day 1 Plymouth To Bilbao Pirates Weekend
Plymouth To Bilbao Pirates Weekend
Atyla truly looks like a pirate ship, and in 2020 she participates for the first time on the famous Pirates Weekend at the Plymouthโs waterfront to become one of the main highlights of the event. This trip is your chance to become part of this historical moment!
Youโll embark in on the last day of the Pirates Weekend, to meet the other adventurers on board, get the safety instructions and some basics about the life on board and the challenges ahead. The next morning weโll leave from Sutton Harbour and set sail.
During the trip, weโll use the experiences and the challenges on board to work on life skills such as teamwork, emotional intelligence and intercultural communication. This will give depth to the experience and will help each one reflect on their own life as adult individuals.
After crossing the English Chanel, and unless the weather doesnโt allow it, weโll also anchor somewhere along the coast (either in France or Spain), to jump from the ship and go for a swim, as well as to go to land and explore a little bit with the other adventurers on board.
If you embark as a participant youโll be expected to help out with the duties on board. If you want to be liberated from the duties on board (or choose when to participate and when not) you can book this trip as a passenger.
On the 15th of May at 13:30 weโll arrive at our home port in the centre of Bilbao, by the Itsasmuseum. You can choose to disembark that same afternoon if you need to go back home, but if you have time you can stay one more day on board. That night weโll all celebrate the arrival with a group dinner at a local restaurant, and the day after if you want, you can go explore Bilbao with your shipmates, join a guided tour in the city, visit some museums...
