The Sicilian capital is known for its art, food, and history. Youโ€™ll discover all the dishes that make Palermo tick. Sample the islandโ€™s original street food snack, arancini, cool down with an icy granita, and indulge in a ricotta-filled cannoli. A Palermo walking tour is one of the best ways to get to know the island capital of Sicily. Though you wonโ€™t be entering them, youโ€™ll pass by the Royal Palace, Palatine Chapel, the Cathedral, Palazzo dei Normanni and the Teatro Massimo, with your guide explaining the significance of each one over the three-hour duration. Though sight is well and truly taken care of as you discover the historic center, this walking tour of Palermo is all about smell and taste. As you wander, you canโ€™t fail to notice the delightful scents and aromas which will waft your way throughout. The good news? Youโ€™ll be stopping off to investigate some of them in more detail. With five tasting stops throughout, thereโ€™s room for a full lunch on tour. You could enjoy one of the โ€œcoursesโ€ in one of the cityโ€™s picturesque squares, such as Piazza Quattro Canti or Piazza Pretoria. A little more on those delicious dishes that you will taste. No visit to Sicily is complete without gorging yourself on the islandโ€™s best-known street food - arancini. These โ€œlittle orangesโ€ are deep-fried rice balls with fillings such as ragu, spinach, and ricotta. There are also cannoli, fried pastries packed with a sweet, creamy cheese filling, while an icy granita will cleanse your palate and cool you down too! Join this awesome food tour of Palermo to try all of them and much more. Overnight in Palermo.

Day 3: Western Coast: Erice - Trapani - Egadi Islands - Marsala

Meet your guide at a designated meeting point. Take a day of your Sicilian adventure to escape the island capital on this full-day small group tour from Palermo with an expert tour escort. On the itinerary is the medieval hilltop town of Erice lunch, a wine and olive oil tasting at a winery or typical farm, and a panoramic tour along Marsalaโ€™s Salt Route! The first stop is the medieval hilltop village of Erice. Stroll through the narrow streets and find delightful little courtyards. Lookout for the viewpoints where you can see out to the Egadi Islands and over Trapani. You will feel like you are traveling through times, surrounded by ancient beauty. Of course, when in Sicily, itโ€™s always a good time for a snack, and in Erice, we will have a tasty break by tasting a local Sicilian granita. After leaving Erice, youโ€™ll carry on along the west coast of Sicily to Marsala, a town famous for producing sweet wine and, like the entire Sicily. In this area, olive oil is another special local product. You will have the chance to taste both of them, as we will stop for a full Sicilian lunch with a sample tasting of the best local wines and olive oil in a local winery or farm. The final stop on this full-day group tour from Palermo is the natural and cultural site landscape that connects land and sea. Marvel at salt windmills and basins, which are still in use today. The 30km road is one of the most evocative routes in Italy, and if you get out of your vehicle, youโ€™ll be able to feel the salt in the air! At the end of this unique and fantastic experience, you will return to Palermo. Overnight in Palermo. (B, L)

  • Day 4 Day 4: Palermo To Siracusa With En Route Stop Agrigento Valley Of The Temples

Day 4: Palermo To Siracusa With En Route Stop Agrigento Valley Of The Temples

Our historical morning star with the delicious Breakfast, after breakfast, weโ€™ll leave Palermo for Siracusa with a stop in Agrigento for a guided visit of the Valley of the Temples. Agrigento was, in ancient times, the Greek city of Akragas, settled by colonists from the Greek islands of Rhodes and Crete. The town prospered, and as in Selinunte, in 406B.C., Hannibal and the Carthaginians laid siege to the city. Today the Valley of the Temples is viewed as the best example of the ancient world because of how well the original settlement site has been preserved. In the end, continue to Siracusa, where you will arrive in the afternoon. Overnight in Siracusa. (B)

  • Day 5 Day 5: Highlights Of Siracusa & Island Of Ortigia
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Highlights Of Siracusa & Island Of Ortigia

Breakfast at the hotel and weโ€™ll take a guided walking tour of Siracusa. Cicero defined Syracuse as "the most beautiful city in Magna Graecia." He was right, of course. Still today, the echoes of its ancient grandeur reverberate from the streets, churches, and monuments. Syracuse is a destination no traveler should pass up and, with Sicilyโ€™s Mediterranean climate, can be visited in any season of the year. Made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005, the city shows its ancient vestiges in every nook and cranny, from Classical to Baroque splendors, all within a landscape of enchanting beauty. This city was once the largest in the Western world, with a population of almost 300,000. Ortigia, the small island off the mainland, is the soul of Syracuse, filled with 2,500 years of history. After the walking tour, get ready to transfer to Taormina with your private driver. Overnight in Taormina.

Breakfast at the hotel and Day at leisure or optional Peivate Taormina walking tour (Not included)

Taormina โ€™the Mediterranean Pearlโ€™, is situated on a natural terrace above the sea. One cannot but remain charmed by the immense beauty of this place, the same sensation experienced by  Johann Wolfgang Goethe during a visit to the 3rd-Century A.D. Greek Theatre, the cityโ€™s symbol. Standing among cypresses and prickly pears, its caves dug into the rock, Taorminaโ€™s Hellenistic Theatre was transformed into an arena by the Romans. It offers a spectacular view of the turquoise sea that runs to the Calabrian coast in the northeast, to Syracuse in the south, and the smoking peak of Mt. Etna in the west. Overnight in Taormina.
