Day 1 Day 1: Padang – Siberut (Boat 3,5 H, Hiking Approx. 5H)

Day 1: Padang – Siberut (Boat 3,5 H, Hiking Approx. 5H)

Departure at 6am. We head to the port of Padang from where we take the speed boat to Siberut. From there we continue our journey in a motorized canoe. After one hour we will reach the first Mentawai village. After a little break, we head into the jungle on foot. After an exciting 5h hike (with several breaks along the way) we arrive in Ugay. There we have the chance to get to know the Mentawai tribe better and to learn our first words in their language. Dinner and overnight stay with a local family in a basic hut in the village.
Day 2 Day 2: Ugay – Malabay (Approx. 3H)

Day 2: Ugay – Malabay (Approx. 3H)

After breakfast we pass several Mentawai villages on our way to Malabay. En route one of the chiefs gives us an insight about the importance of the sago palm. Upon arrival in Malabay we will have lunch together with our host family. In the afternoon we can spend time with the family and learn how to make bracelets and necklaces. Overnight stay in basic hut.
Day 3 Day 3: Malabay

Day 3: Malabay

We spend the day with the Mentawais and learn more about their traditional tribal lifestyle. This includes activities such as hunting, fishing and the production of leather shorts made from bork, which the men wear. In the evening, we have the chance to experience the ritualistic Mentawai dances. Overnight stay in basic hut.
Day 4 Day 4: Malabay – Ugay – Secret Island (Approx. 5H)

Day 4: Malabay – Ugay – Secret Island (Approx. 5H)

After breakfast we walk back to Ugay from where we take the motorized canoe downriver to reach our next highlight of this tour: the "secret island" a remote island which we will have to ourselves for a couple of days. Overnight stay in specious hut.
Day 5 Day 5: Secret Island

Day 5: Secret Island

Today we have the whole day to relax on this beautiful island: swimming, snorkelling, slacklining or simply enjoying the serene atmosphere - you choose!
Day 6 Day 6: Secret Island – Siberut (1 H) – Padang (3,5H)

Day 6: Secret Island – Siberut (1 H) – Padang (3,5H)

After a relaxing morning and a tasty lunch we´ll head back to Siberut. From there we take the speed boat back to Padang. Transfer to hotel or airport. End of tour.
