All of our tours include your transport as per the itinerary. This will be using bullet trains, local trains, private cars, ferries, internal flights, or whatever else we need to hire, to get you there! As with everything we do, comfort, convenience and efficiency are what we think of most when deciding your mode of transport. Partially guided with local assistants to meet, greet, and make sure you are comfortable and in the right place at every step of your journey. Licensed tour guides will meet you in Tokyo, Kyoto, Shikoku Island, Hiroshima & Miyajima Islands.

      Arrive in Kansai Airporton your scheduled flight. You will be met upon arrival by our airport transfer staff and taken to your hotel in Kyoto.

      Day 2: Welcome To Kyoto - A Day With Local Guide

      Meet your local guide in the lobby of your hotel after breakfast. You will travel around Kyoto using the public transportation and/or taxis as appropriate. Let us know what youโ€™re most keen to see or simply let us make the arrangements.


      Our recommended Kyoto sights include:

      โ€ข Kinkakuji Temple, the Golden Pavillion

      โ€ข Lunch at local restaurant

      โ€ข Kiyomizu Temple & Shopping street

      โ€ข Yasaka Shrine


      No matter where we visit today, we will take you to a quaint Kyoto teahouse where you will experience an authentic Tea Ceremony, hosted by a beautiful tea master. 


      Finish with a stroll through the historic geisha district of Gion, where your guide will be happy to make restaurant suggestions for your dinner.

      Today you can spend exploring more of Kyoto, or take an optional trip to Nara.

      After breakfast, you will take the train from Kyoto to Koyasan in Wakayama Prefecture. 

      Upon arrival to Koyasan station, you will be met by our local guide for a day of historical tales of this fascinating place of spiritual Japan. 


      Mt Koya (Koyasan), is a sacred site established 1,200 years ago by Kobo Daishi a religious scholar. Koyasan was the spiritual centre of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism and is considered one of the most spiritually rewarding places to visit in the Kansai region. Take a spiritual walk around this mystical setting. Tonight, we will sleep in one of Koyasanโ€™s 111 temple lodges. Traditionally, these lodges were used to service the devoted pilgrims who

      walked the โ€˜88 Temples of Shikokuโ€™. Join an evening calligraphy session or pre-breakfast early morning โ€˜chantโ€™ with the monks. 


      Entrance fees should be paid on the spot as well as for the assistant as a gesture.


      In the evening, you will be shown to your temple lodge where you can enjoy vegan friendly Shojin Ryori for dinner and perhaps take part in a calligraphy session with the temple monk. This will be subject to each temples offerings.

      A short ferry ride away from the city, Miyajima is home to (a whole lot of holy deer and also) Itsukushima Shrine, deservedly one of the most photographed places in the whole of Japan. You will be staying on the island in a seaside ryokan
