    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Muscat

After your arrival at the airport in Muscat, you will receive your entry visa at the Travelex counter. After you have cleared passport control and customs and collected your luggage, your contact person will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall. Transfer to your accommodation.

  • Day 2 Muscat
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Muscat

After breakfast, you will meet your tour guide at the agreed time and set off to visit the Great Mosque. A visit to this architectural gem is a must!

Open daily from 08:00 - 11:00 except Thursdays and Fridays. Please note the following dress code: men and women may only enter the mosque with their arms and legs covered, women must cover their heads with a scarf (children under the age of 10 are not admitted).

After visiting the mosque, we drive together to Nakhl and visit the Nakhl Fort. Once used by the imams of Bani Kharous and the Yaโ€™arubah dynasty, the rooms of the completely restored fortress are now once again furnished with traditional furniture, handicrafts and historical objects. The old village of Nakhl nestles at the foot of the fortress and leads directly to the famous hot springs of Nakhl on the edge of an oasis. We relax with a picnic (not included; payment on site) on the edge of the springs, surrounded by the lush greenery of the date plantation and steep cliffs. We then drive back to Muscat. On the way to the old town of Muscat, we make a photo stop at the Al Alam Palace, the official palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, which is flanked by the two 16th century Portuguese forts - Jalali and Mirani. We continue through the old town of Muscat to the Bait al Zubair Museum, which offers us a first insight into the art and culture of Oman (closed on Fridays). We then drive along the waterfront promenade, also known as the Corniche, to the lively Mutrah Souq, which has remained unchanged for generations and welcomes us with a multitude of impressions, smells and fragrances.

  • Day 3 Muscat - Sur - Wahiba Sands
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Muscat - Sur - Wahiba Sands

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and drive together to the seafaring town of Sur. First, however, we head to Quriyat and the Bimah Sinkhole, Fins Beach and Wadi Shab or Wadi Tiwi. After these stops, we reach Sur to visit the adjacent dhow shipyard. The traditional merchant ships are still made exclusively from wood, as they were a few centuries ago. We then continue to the Wahiba Sands. At the edge of the desert, we change to a four-wheel drive vehicle and drive to the desert camp. Enjoy the drive over the hilly, golden sand to the Arabian Oryx Camp, which we reach shortly before sunset.

  • Day 4 Wahiba - Wadi Bani Khalid - Wahiba
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Wahiba - Wadi Bani Khalid - Wahiba

After breakfast, we board our reliable modern desert boats again and are taken to a Bedouin family who will show us their traditional home and give us an insight into their everyday life. We then drive to the beautiful Wadi Bani Khalid. The pools of the wadi are cool, deep and absolutely breathtaking - enjoy the silky water that invites you to swim and the paradisiacal scenery that surrounds it. After arriving back at camp in the late afternoon, we now have time to soak up the desert and its unique atmosphere. In the evening, we meet up again to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the dunes and bring the day to a dignified close - a dream from 1001 nights!

  • Day 5 Wahiba - Nizwa
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Wahiba - Nizwa

After breakfast at the camp, we return to Al Mintrib Shell Station. From here, continue by minibus towards Nizwa, including a stop at the womenโ€™s market in the town of Ibra. Enjoy a stop at the market before continuing to Jibreen Castle. We visit the fortress in Jabrin, one of the most beautiful complexes in Oman from the late 17th century, which was a center of science in its heyday. This fortress offers impressive rooms with beautiful ornamental and floral ceiling paintings. The view from the top of the fortress is breathtaking. We then continue to the hotel in Nizwa

  • Day 6 Nizwa - Jebel Shams
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Nizwa - Jebel Shams

After breakfast, we visit the oasis city of Nizwa, once the capital of the Julanda dynasty in the 6th and 7th centuries AD. Today, with its historic buildings and an impressive fortress, it is one of the most famous sights in Oman. Visit the fortress of Nizwa with its round tower built in the 17th century by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Yaโ€™aruba. The fortress dominates the entire surrounding area and the town that has grown up around it. The tower can be reached via steep, narrow stairs and through thick, metal-clad wooden doors. The climb is worth it, as a panoramic view of the whole of Nizwa awaits us at the top. Later, the tour takes us to the village of "Al Hamra", which is known for its mud houses, and to visit "The Bait Al Safah". Go on an incredible discovery tour and get an impression of life around 400 years ago. See old houses and the museum and admire a unique world heritage site: the Falaj irrigation system. Then continue to Jebel Shams in a four-wheel drive vehicle. On the way, we visit the mountain village of Misfat-al-Ibriyeen, whose famous and still inhabited stone houses seem to have been hewn out of the rock. A short walk through the village demonstrates the "Falaj" irrigation system with its stone basins, which are still used for washing today. The journey continues to Jebel Shams, the Grand Canyon of Oman. Enjoy the afternoon with a walk. Before we make our way back downhill to Nizwa in the late afternoon, we fortify ourselves with lunch at a resort against this breathtaking mountain backdrop.

  • Day 7 Nizwa - Muscat
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Nizwa - Muscat

After breakfast, we head to the hustle and bustle of the cattle market at the Nizwa Souq. We then drive back to the hotel for check-out, where we can continue to use the hotelโ€™s amenities until we make our way back to Muscat. On the way, we make a short stop at the Birkat Al Mauz fortress. We then drive on to Muscat, where we start a "Muscat by night" tour on arrival. First we take a look at the beautifully illuminated mosque from the outside before continuing to the old town. Experience the palace, the beautiful fortresses on Mutrah Mountain and the glittering Sultan Qaboos Harbour. A short stop at the Corniche is planned for breathtaking pictures. Discover the colorfully illuminated city - like something out of 1001 nights. Farewell dinner in a traditional Arabic restaurant. After dinner, you will be taken to the airport for your return flight. Guests who have extended their stay individually will be taken to their hotel.
