Itinerary of your trip Trekking In Morocco: Jebel Toubkal Winter Climb - 8 Days

  • Day 1 Day 1: Marrakech
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Marrakech

Youโ€™ll arrive in Marrakech and have some time to explore before you check into your lodgings for the night.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Marrakech To Imlil And Around
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 2: Marrakech To Imlil And Around

In the afternoon, weโ€™ll transfer you to Imlil from Marrakech by minibus. When we arrive, youโ€™ll get time to explore and weโ€™ll show you around the village of Aroumd too.

During the afternoon weโ€™ll head over to our mountain gite in Achayn where there is some free time to explore the area.

Imlil is the gateway to Toubkal and a popular place for trekkers.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Imlil To Mizane Valley To Sidi Chamarouch Lto Tubal Base Camp
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Imlil To Mizane Valley To Sidi Chamarouch Lto Tubal Base Camp

After breakfast weโ€™ll trek up the valley to Sidi Chamarouch, home of the King Of The Jinns, and then on to the beautiful Mizane Valley.

From there weโ€™ll trek to the Neltner Refuge (sometimes called the Toubkal Refuge) at the foot of Jebel Toubkal itself.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Jebel Toubkal Ascent
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 4: Jebel Toubkal Ascent

Weโ€™ll be making an early start today - usually between 6.00am and 7.00am - to make sure that we have plenty of time to reach Toubkalโ€™s summit.

Leaving the Refuge, weโ€™ll start ascending the western flank of the mountain, through deep snow and a steep incline.

Eventually, just below the summit, weโ€™ll reach a wide pass where weโ€™ll start to get a taste of the spectacular views to come. Weโ€™ll take a northward turn and climb the ridge to the summit where weโ€™ll get some breathtaking views of the Toubkal region. In particular, you will be able to see all of the way to Marrakech: something that is simply not possible on hazy, summer days.

After reaching the summit, weโ€™ll make a descent back down the way that we came and hopefully we will be back to the Refuge in time for a late lunch. After our food, we can relax with a mint tea and get warm.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Mount Ouanoukrim (Or Another Neighbouring Peak)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Mount Ouanoukrim (Or Another Neighbouring Peak)

If you feel up to it, today we can expand our Atlas Mountain tour and explore a few options.

For example, Mount Ouanoukrim is Toubkalโ€™s second highest peak and is technically more challenging than Mount Toubkal.

There are several other stunning Moroccan peaks we can climb, or we can simply return back via a very scenic route.

Another superb option is the Tizi nโ€™ Ouanoums pass, which offers views of the stunning Lac dโ€™Ifni (the only lake in Toubkal).

      It is up to you!

Whatever you decide to take on, we will be back at the refuge for a late lunch and a well-earned rest.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Aremd To Marrakech
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 6: Aremd To Marrakech

After a hard couple of days climbing and trekking, we will make our way back to down to Imlil.

We will have a hot meal and then say goodbye to our chefs, mules and muleteers.

When we get to Marrakech, we will head to our respective riads and hotels and when you have settled in, the evening is yours.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Marrakech
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 7: Marrakech
