      Welcomed by Globe Travel Centre representative at Chennai airport and transferred to Mahabalipuram aka Mamallapuram is one of the most outstanding examples of Dravidian art and architecture and a jewel in the crown of Tamil Nadu. In a land that is liberally strewn with some of the best in temple art, Mamallapuram holds its own and stands as a silent yet eloquent witness to the glory of its creators. Mamallapuramโ€™s wonders in rock leave visitors enthralled, conveying as they do, an impression of beauty and harmony. The monuments are floodlit at night and so it is possible to enjoy their beauty even after sunset.

      AM: Enjoy the sightseeing tour of the famous World Heritage Monuments of Mamallapuram: the Shore Temple, built in the 7th century - the Arjunaโ€™s Penance, a Bass Relief - the Five Rathas, which symbolizes equality of men and women and many cave temples. You can also visit a sculpture studio

      AM: Village tour by Auto-rickshaw. By 0800 hrs you will be travelling by tuk tuk to Kadumbadi Village. Gandhi said, "Villages are the heart of our nation"! Village is the best place to learn Indian culture and tradition and biking through villages is the best way to experience rural lifestyle, farms, and village temples. This tour will take you to village panchayat schools, little temples, pottery making and agricultural fields to experience authentic Indian village.


      Village visit is to explore the rural lifestyle, farms, village temples and, if you are interested, spend some time with the local school children, too.       AM: Drive to Pondicherry via Scenic ECR road.


      PM: Enroute visit Auroville, an intentional Community where people of 40 different nationalities have come together with the goal of building a harmonious township where creed, nationality and colour are ignored.  Their utopist vision is inspirational, and weโ€™ll take time to see how they make it work.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Pondicherry

      AM: Rickshaw tour to explore French quarter. Enjoy the sightseeing tour of Pondicherry; youโ€™ll have more time to gorge on French baguettes for lunch before we set out to see the sights of Pondy, as Pondicherry is popularly known. Weโ€™ll visit the Shri Aurobindo Ashram, the Ganesha Temple, the Church of our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and the Gandhi Statue on the boulevard.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Pondicherry To Madurai

      Day 6: Pondicherry To Madurai

      AM: Drive to Madurai in Tamilnadu, one of South Indiaโ€™s greatest temple towns synonymous with the celebrated Meenakshi Temple. Situated on the banks of river Vaigai, Madurai has a rich cultural heritage passed on from the great Tamil era more than 2500 years old. Madurai was an important cultural and commercial centre even as early as 550 AD. Check into the hotel.

      Today you could go on sightseeing tour of Madurai to explore the many fascinating temples and structures of this city. Visit of the Meenakshi temple the 1000-pillared hall depicts beautiful sculptures showcasing stories from ancient Hindu Epics.


      You could also visit other places of interest such as- the 1636 Palace of King Thirumalai Nayak, built in 1636 in an indo-saracenic style.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Madurai To Periyar

      Day 9: Madurai To Periyar

      AM: Drive to Periyar an area known for its undulating hills, spice plantations, and elephant sightings. One of the 27 tiger reserves in India, the Periyar valley in Thekkady is the oldest. Check into your hotel.


      PM: Go on a spice plantation tour today where you will be enticed by not only the aroma of spices like cinnamon, cardamom, pepper and nutmeg but will also get to know how they are grown, harvested and processed before they reach the supermarkets. 

  • Day 10 Day 10: Periyar
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 10: Periyar

      AM: Embark on a full day bamboo rafting and hiking trail. The program starts at 0800 in the morning and ends in the evening. The raft makes its way through the Periyar lake and you can see the forests on either side. Trekkers can glimpse the lofty mountains bordering the park watershed and the vast plains below. Two armed forest guards will accompany you on this trek. 

      Intensity Level of Nature Walks: High levels of fitness are not required to do this program. However, you need to be in general good health and used to walking.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Periyar To Alleppey

      Day 11: Periyar To Alleppey

      AM: Driver to Alleppey, fondly called as the Venice of the East, for its maze of interconnecting waterways and channels, Alleppey or Alappuzha as it is known in local language truly lives up to its name! The waterways and channels are best explored in country boats as in Venice. 


      Alleppey is indeed famous for at least a million reasons. It is the only place in the world other than Holland where rice is cultivated well under the sea level. Thickly punctuated with coconut palms, Chinese nets and paddy fields, Aleppey is enchanting and receptive to tourists all round the year The enviably slow pace of the lives in the lagoons and the tranquility that is broken only by the echoing calls of the migratory birds, make it a different world altogether!


      PM: Village walk and canoe boat ride.

      Embark on your private houseboat and cruise on the Backwaters, a splendid area full of canals, lakes and coves. Your houseboats or โ€˜Kettuvallomsโ€™ are luxurious boats with well-appointed bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. You can sunbathe on the deck or observe the palm fringed landscape from your cabins. Apart from the mesmerizing surroundings itโ€™s the life along the coast that adds a touch of exotica to this experience.


      The localsโ€™ travel in canoes and you will find vegetable sellers, fishermen and other traders bringing household goods, door to door in small wooden boats. As you cruise along the backwaters you can ask your captain to stop at villages, paddy fields and other places, enroute. Overnight on board. 

  • Day 13 Day 13: Alleppey To Cochin

      AM: Drive via islands to Fort Cochin. Kochi, as it is called now, offers you the best of history and culture anywhere in the state. A port town since early centuries Cochin attracted traders and invaders from the world over. One can see snippets of the different eras and influences in the many attractions in Cochin. The place is broadly divided into two areas- Ernakulam which is a bustling cosmopolitan metropolis and Fort Cochin which is the cultural hub where the hotel is located. Step out of the hotel and you are within walking distance of other attractions like the Chinese fishing nets, said to have been left behind by Chinese traders in the 15th century. 


      PM: Sunset cruise in the harbor area.

  • Day 14 Day 14: Cochin

      AM: You can go for a sightseeing tour of Cochin which include - The Jewish Synagogue in what is locally called the Jew Town, St. Francis Church which is the oldest European Church in India, the Santa Cruz Basilica built in 1557 by the Portuguese, the Dutch Palace, the Spice market and the 15th century Chinese fishing nets believed to have been brought by Chinese traders. 


      PM: In the evening, visit an auditorium to watch the famous dance drama of Kerala, the Kathakali. This dance is characterised by some great story telling, amazing costumes and extensive make-up.
