Day 2: City Tour Of Luang Prabang And Excursion To Kuang Si Waterfalls (B)

City tour with visit to Wat Visoun, the oldest still actively used temple in Luang Prabang, there is also a collection of gilded wooden Buddha statues from the 15th and 16th centuries. Continue to Wat Xien Thong, probably the most beautiful monastery in Luang Prabang as well as the National Museum (Royal Palace). The former Royal Palace became the National Museum in 1975, there you will find some rooms preserved as they were last used by the royal family (closed on Tuesdays). Afterwards you will see Wat Mai.

From Luang Prabang you will later go to Kuang Si Waterfalls, whose sinter terraces form a perfect natural scenery. Enjoy swimming in the clear water or even just resting. Afterwards, head to the "Khmu" village of Ban Tha Pene before returning to Luang Prabang. In the evening you will visit the Talat Night Market (Hmong Market). Day 3: Boat Trip To The Unique Pak Ou Caves (B)

In the morning visit of the local market, which is very busy already in the early morning hours. Afterwards, boat trip on the Mekong River downstream to the steep limestone cliffs that rise above the Mekong and over the Nam Ou River. Your destination is the Pak Ou Caves, uniquely populated with Buddha images of every kind.
Continuing your journey, you will stop at Ban Xang Hai village, famous for its Lao Lao (rice whisky). Afterwards, you will visit Ban Muang Keo with its silk weaving and rice liquor distillery, as well as the weaving village of Ban Xang Khong. Here you can watch the production of traditional hand-woven cotton and silk as well as the production of mulberry paper.
Back in Luang Prabang you will climb the 100m high temple mountain Phou Si in the middle of the city and visit the small temple complex on its top. From up here you will have a magnificent view over the city and the river.

Angkor Wat is the largest religious building on earth. The enormous temple complex, in the middle of the tropical jungle, was the center of the Khmer high culture from the 9th to the 15th century. In its heyday, 1 million people lived there, more than in any city in Europe at the time.... In the morning you will explore the "wonder of the world" Angkor Wat, which was built in a 40-year construction period by countless master builders and sculptors by order of the most important Khmer king Siriyavaram. In the afternoon you will visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom with the famous Bayon complex, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. The day is rounded off with a visit to the famous jungle temple of Ta Phrom. Return to the hotel stopping for a foot massage.

On the way back, you will visit the local village of Prak Dak in the afternoon, where you will be demonstrated the production of palm sugar . To end the day, enjoy an unforgettable sunset at the Srah Srang water reservoir and marvel at how the temple complex of Angkor Wat is reflected on the water surface with the setting sun.

In the morning, visit the National Museum, which was built in the traditional Khmer style. It houses the world’s leading collection of ancient Khmer art, archaeological and religious artifacts from the 4th to the 13th century. Over 5000 pieces of art are on display here. Continue to the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. The pagoda of Wat Phnom then awaits you. A visit to the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum - formerly a school and a prison during the Pol Pot regime - will give you an insight into Cambodia’s history during the Khmer Rouge’s time of horror. The day ends with a one-hour boat trip on the Mekong River during sunset.
