      Flight to Cyprus. If you book your flight through ASI Reisen, you will be picked up at the airport by an ASI representative and driven to our hotel.

      Day 2: Pristine Troodos Mountains

      After breakfast, welcome by the ASI hiking guide. Today we are exploring the โ€œgreen heartโ€ of Cyprus: The Troodos Mountains. We will visit Kykko Monastery, the wealthiest and most powerful monastery on the island, far from any town. His wealth and fame are based on a Marian icon that has worked countless miracles and is said to have saved entire villages from drought. We stop for lunch at a quaint mountain tavern in the village of Pedoulas. Afterwards, drive to the idyllic mountain village of Agros and visit a rose factory.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Limassol And Ancient Kourion

      Day 3: Limassol And Ancient Kourion

      Today we are exploring the region around Limassol. After visiting the Apollo Hylates sanctuary, we drive to the Greco-Roman buildings of the ancient city of Kourion, known for its impressive floor mosaics. We will visit the castle of Kolossi, formerly the headquarters of the Order of St. John and drive on to the wine village of Omodos. A Cypriot โ€œmezeโ€ is already available for us there. We walk through the pretty village and taste the liquid gold of the region on a winery. Drive back to Limassol, where we have time for a stroll through the city.

  • Day 4 Day 4: The Divided Capital Nicosia

      Day 4: The Divided Capital Nicosia

      Our trip today takes us to the divided capital Nicosia. We learn more about the exciting history of this extraordinary settlement, visit the Cypriot Museum, the Episcopal Church, St. Johnโ€™s Cathedral and the Byzantine Museum. After lunch, you will walk along the โ€œGreen Lineโ€ to the northern part of the city. There we visit the Catherine and Saint Sophia churches as well as a caravanserai, a fortress-like hostel on a caravan route.

      Day 5: Port City Of Larnaca

      Today we explore the eastern end of the island. First we stop at a farmer who makes the Cypriot Halloumi cheese from sheep and goat milk. Continuing on to Larnaca, we visit the 9th century Agios Lazaros Church and then have time to stroll along the beautiful Finikรณudes palm tree promenade. Afterwards we drive to Chirokitia to the excavations of one of the oldest cultures in the world.

      Day 6: Paphos: Gods And Agriculture

      On the coast, we discover the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, the so-called โ€œPetra tou Romiouโ€. In ancient Paphos, we visit the house of Dionysus and the necropolis with Hellenistic royal tombs. After lunch, we can once again expand our culinary knowledge: Why the banana is crooked is explained to us on the organic banana plantation near Coral Bay.
