Arriving in Nicosia we will take a sightseeing tour of the city pass the Presidential Palace, House of Representatives, enter the old city passing through the modern square called “Eleftheria Square (Freedom Square)” in the centre of the city, pass from the Liberty statute and St John Cathedral. A short walking tour will follow through the narrow streets of the old quarter until we reach the “Laiki Yitonia” with its colourful cafes, tavernas and shops. Coffee Break. Today our tour will take you to the north part of the island, crossing the check point (need a valid passport or if you are an EU citizen ID card). Visit first Bella Pais Abbey is the ruin of a monastery built by Canons Regular in the 13th century on the northern side of the small village of Bellapais, and then Kyrenia , a city on the northern coast of Cyprus, noted for its historic harbour and castle. Free time to relax and enjoy the area. Return to Hotel in Larnaca Overnight

On the way to Famagusta, we will arrive at the monastery of St Barnabas which has now been converted into a museum housing icons and other religious artefact. We will also see the tomb of St Barnabas. We continue to the ancient Kingdom of Salamis built in the 12th Century BC and visit the amphitheatre and gymnasium. We arrive in the city of Famagusta with its many Gothic churches and surrounded by Venetian walls. There will be time to visit the Cathedral of St Nikolaos built in 1312 and converted in 1570 into a mosque as well as free time for sightseeing, shopping, and lunch (not included). Finally, we pass to view the “Ghost Town – Varosi” to see the abandoned houses and hotels which have been closed off behind wire since 1974 and admire the best sandy beaches of the island. On the way back we will pass from Cavo Grego park to visit the famous tourist resort of Ayia Napa and its picturesque harbour (need a valid passport or if you are EU citizen an id ). Return to Hotel in Larnaca Overnight.

On the way to Paphos we wil visit Kourion in Limassol.

Meet local hospitality and tradition. We begin our day with a stop at a pottery workshop in Yeroskipou village, where we will see how the potters continue the ancient traditional craft and if you are lucky, you might even try your hand at the wheel.

Our next stop is at the village square where we will see the unique 5-domed church of St Paraskevi, built in the 9th century reputedly on the site where the ancient temple of Aphrodite previously stood. We will also have a chance to see how the ‘loukoumia’ (Turkish delights) are made and wander around the square with its local produce shops.

From there we will go to a small village, Letymvou, where we will visit Sophia’s traditional house where you can experience rooms with the original furniture and décor as well as traditional costumes. You will learn how to bake village bread in the clay oven and makes other local delicacies such as the traditional halloumi cheese. Afterwards we will have lunch prepared by Sophia (included in the price). On the way back to Limassol we will stop at Aphrodite’s Rock, to explore the myth of the birthplace of Aphrodite, goddess of love. Overnight in Limassol
Day 6 Troodos/Kykkos/Omodos/

Our first stop on the way to the Troodos Mountains is Omodos. Is a traditional wine producing village, you can walk through the cobbled streets to reach the village square lined with cafes and shops selling wines, olive oil and other local products or visit the church of the Holy Cross and then enjoy a Cyprus coffee in the square. The tour continues towards Kykkos, passing through the Troodos Forest. Arriving at Kykkos Monastery, you will be guided through the renowned and rich Monastery as well as to visit the Archbishop Makarios’ tomb in Throni where you can enjoy the breath-taking view of almost all the islands! Free time to enjoy the scenery.
