      Today, youโ€™ll land in Kunming, the capital of southwestern Chinaโ€™s Yunnan province. Your guide will meet you at the airport and drive you to your first accommodation. Relax from your arrival in your hotel. For a first impression of the emerging province and its inhabitants, take a stroll through the old town and the flower market. 2 nights in Kunming. (A)

  • Day 3 Day 3: Bizarre Stone Forest

      Day 3: Bizarre Stone Forest

      Today, youโ€™ll start the day with a morning stroll through Green Lake Park. Here, you can watch locals do their morning tai chi and exercise exercises on site. The journey then continues to the famous โ€œstone forestโ€ of Shilin (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Countless calcareous formations extend over an area of 400 km2, which rise up to 30 metres in height. During a short walk, you have the opportunity to admire this bizarre karst landscape that formed on the ocean floor 270 million years ago. Then you will drive back to Kunming. (F)

      Today you will fly to Lijiang and visit the park with the pond of the black dragon. After that, head to Baisha Village and visit Liuli Temple with its well-preserved murals. Back in Lijiang, stroll through the picturesque Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site) with its narrow streets and many water canals. 2 nights in Lijiang. (F/A)

      Day 6: Jade Dragon Mountain Cable Car Ride

      Today, you will take a trip to the almost 5,600 m high Jade Dragon Mountain and climb to an altitude of about 4,500 m by cable car. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the glacier world.At the foot of the mountain, you can visit the small and still very original village of Yuhu, belonging to the Naxi minority. Dali then welcomes you as a picturesque town on the shores of Lake Erhai and at the foot of the 4,000 m high Cang mountain range.       The day starts with a sightseeing tour of Xizhou, which is a typical village of the Bai minority. Afterwards, visit Daliโ€™s most famous landmark: the three white pagodas! In clear weather, you will have a magnificent picture in front of the mostly snowy peaks. Afterwards, take a short walk along the banks of the Erhaisees.       Day 8: Jinghong

      A flight brings you to Jinghong to the south of Yunnan Province. Here you will visit a tea plantation and get insights into the tea growing, which is operated in the mountain regions. Later, you will have the opportunity to stay with a local Hani Minority family and learn more about daily life. 1 night in Jinghong. (F/A)

  • Day 9 Day 9: Crossing The Border Into Laos

      Day 9: Crossing The Border Into Laos

      A market visit and a meeting with a Dai Minority family is on the schedule in the morning before you have to continue your journey towards the Lao border and say goodbye to the Chinese province of Yunnan. After completing the border formalities, you will cross the border on foot (approximately 400 m), where you will be met by your Lao guide. Then, continue your journey to Nam Kat in the original Oudomxay province.2 nights near Oudomaxay. (F)

  • Day 10 Day 10: Nam Kat Waterfall

      Day 10: Nam Kat Waterfall

      Today, take a short hike (about 1 hour on narrow paths and suspension bridges) to the idyllic Nam Kat Waterfall. Guests can take a refreshing dip here. Back at the resort is the rest of the day. Guests are welcome to relax in the swimming pool and beautiful gardens. (F)

      Today you will drive to Nong Khiaw, which is located on the banks of the Nam Ou River and is surrounded by fantastic limestone mountains. The best way to explore this charming mountainous region of North Laos is around 1.5-hour. From a mountain top, you have a magnificent panoramic view of Nong Khiaw and the Nam Ou River. After about 45 minutes you will reach Nong Khiaw again and then continue by boat to the small village of Muang Ngoi, which is idyllically situated by the Nam Ou River. 2 nights in Muang Ngoi. (F)

  • Day 12 Day 12: Muang Ngoi

      Day 12: Muang Ngoi

      Your easy hike starts today from Munag Ngoi. After a short time (about 30 minutes), you have the opportunity to visit the Tam Khang Cave. Youโ€™ll walk along narrow paths along rice paddies and through enchanting nature until you reach the traditional village of Ba Na after about an hourโ€™s hike. You will then return to Muang Ngoi.       Today, your journey will take you overland to Luang Prabang. Along the way, visit the Pak Ou Caves, which houses an almost unmanageable number of Buddhafi guren. Luang Prabang, the old royal city, can be reached in the late afternoon. 2 nights in Luang Prabang. (F)

      Itโ€™s worth getting up early today! Hundreds of monks embark on their morning alms through the streets of Luang Prabang. After breakfast, you will discover the former royal city during your sightseeing tour. Immerse yourself in the religious and cultural center of Laos and visit the most important and beautiful monasteries. Donโ€™t miss a visit to the Hmong Night Market! (F)

  • Day 15 Day 15: Farewell To Laos

      Day 15: Farewell To Laos

      You will have the morning at leisure until your transfer to the airport. You can also take an optional excursion to the Kuang Si waterfall. The optional excursion can be booked with your tour guide on site (the price depends on the number of participants, with 4 guests approx. 23 USD). Then it is time to say goodbye to Laos.you will fly back to your home country. (F)
