  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival Kirkenes

      Day 1: Arrival Kirkenes

      Arrival to Kirkenes airport and regular transfer to the Hotel Thon Kirkenes**** for check-in. This north eastern town lies a mere 15 km from the Russian border. The area offers a world of experiences for the adventurous traveller wanting to experience mountains, fjords, forests, lakes and the beautiful dancing Northern Lights. Approximately 10% of the population are Russians and you will find street signs in both Russian and Norwegian. The evening is at leisure in Kirekenes.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Kirkenes-Saariselka

      Day 2: Kirkenes-Saariselka

      In the morning we depart for the amazing experience of the King Crab Safari. One of the highlights of Northern Norway with the chance to taste one of the local delicacies known worldwide. Heading out on the Kirkenes Fjord we will come face to face with this giant of the sea on the King Crab safari. Directly after the King Crab Safari we continue towards Saariselka. Depart Kirkenes travelling south through the northern Lapland landscape to the centre of Sami world at Inari, the capital of Lapland. There we visit the Sajos Sami Cultural Centre and parliament set in the heart of Sapmi in a unique natural landscape on the shore of Lake Inari, serving as a centre for Sami self governance, culture, education and know-how. Modern conference premises, facilities and technology go hand in hand with authentic living Sami culture. After the visit we continue onto the tiny village of Saariselka, the centre of Finlandโ€™s winter sports. Check in at Hotel Santaโ€™s Tunturi****. In the evening we put on our snowshoes and feel the crunch of snow under our feet. We capture the true feeling of winter in the northern woods as we explore the nearby nature in your search for the Northern Lights.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Saariselka-Sinetta

      Day 3: Saariselka-Sinetta

      This morning we continue our adventure to Sinetta, located 25 km from Rovaniemi. Along the way, we visit one of the highlights of the tour โ€“ the traditional Sami farmers, who tell us about their reindeers and teach us how to throw the Suopunki (Sami lasso). Sitting in a two-person sleigh, pulled by a reindeer, we experience this traditional and peaceful way of moving through the white landscape over the lake and through the forest. A typical Sami three courses lunch is included at the farm. Check in at Arctic Snow Hotel & Glass Igloos. We enjoy the warmth of our Glass Igloo and, if the weather allows, we will have the opportunity to admire the amazing Northern Lights. In the evening we are invited to a traditional Lappish three courses dinner in a magnificent wooden โ€œKotaโ€. The late evening also offers an optional snow sauna and outdoor Jacuzzi experience where only the sauna benches are made of wood!

  • Day 4 Day 4: Sinetta-Rovaniemi

      Day 4: Sinetta-Rovaniemi

      We depart to Rovaniemi and check-in at the Hotel Santa Claus****. We are in for yet another winter adventure with a visit to the Husky Farm & Safari. We embark on a run through the forest behind our packs of huskies. After the trip there is time to visit the farm and enjoy a traditional outdoor lunch of Lappish sausage grilled on the camp fire followed by Lappish pancakes. The day continues with a visit to the world-famous Santa Claus Village, built right on the Arctic Circle and home to the real Santa Claus. The late evening offers optional snowmobile excursion to the Aurora Borealis camp. Drive through the wilderness and discover the phenomena of the northern sky at our Northern Lights base. Experience the Arctic night by driving through the snow covered forest and on the frozen river to the Aurora Borealis camp. At the resort, you will find a theatre, presenting a film about the myths and facts of this natural phenomenon.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Rovaniemi-Kemi-Rovaniemi

      Day 5: Rovaniemi-Kemi-Rovaniemi

      Today we experience one of the highlights of our winter adventure. We travel to Kemi, board the Sampo Icebreaker and spend 4 hours on this unforgettable vessel breaking though the ice of the northern Gulf of Bothnia. This extraordinary experience includes a guided tour of the ship, ice swimming and a three-course lunch at the on board restaurant. In the middle of the largest ice field in Europe, we have the opportunity to jump in the sea and float! Everyone is fitted with a warm survival suit and those who dare receive a certificate by the ship authorities. Back in Rovaniemi, the evening offers an optional tour to โ€œThe Magic of the Arctic Circleโ€, an idyllic Igloo which opens it door fort special event. We enjoy a dinner with local specialities and if we are lucky we will be dazzled by the Northern Lights.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Rovaniemi-Departure
