  • Day 1 Day 1: Cusco - Puerto Maldonado - Camping In The Tambopata

      Day 1: Cusco - Puerto Maldonado - Camping In The Tambopata

      Morning collection from the airport, bus station or your hotel. Youโ€™ll have 2 hrs by car, the first part will be by the high way and the second part will be in a dirt route until arriving to the Tambopata River near the limit to the Tambopata Nacional Reserve. Our boat will be waiting for us to take us 2 hrs up the Tambopata river to reach the first campsite, close to a chuncho macaw clay-lick. Travelling along the Tambopata river, where youโ€™ll have really good chances to spot some rare shore birds, Capybaras, White caimans, and possibly a Jaguar or an Anaconda, there is a 20% probability to see these by the river bank. Getting to our destination, Tambopata chuncho clay-lick, youโ€™ll have your first chances to explore the area. Afterwards; camp, dinner and rest.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Tambopata - Jungle Activities

      Day 2: Tambopata - Jungle Activities

      Rising at around 5:00am, after taking some hot drinks youโ€™ll then take our boat up the Tambopata for 10 min. Arriving at the clay-lick, youโ€™ll witness many kinds of macaws: Green & Red macaw, Scarlet macaw, Blue & Yellow macaw, blue headed macaw and the red bellied macaw. These birds will be all around us, flying and making their own calls in the wild, itโ€™s a spectacular behavior to witness of these incredible birds. Youโ€™ll spend from 5:30 am to 10:00 am approx. here at the clay-lick. Our breakfast will be in front of the tambopata clay-lick activity. 


      At the end of this activity, youโ€™ll be on your way up the  Tambopata river. Youโ€™ll take a short stop for an unforgettable swim in the Tambopata River. After this continuing toward our next campsite. After lunch youโ€™ll trek to the Tambopata Research Center. Going for an introductory walk in primary forest full of gigantic trees, lianas and vines, at the same time learning about some important economic activities in this region. Chances to spot some spider monkeys, Brown capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys or pecaries will be possible. 


      Next itโ€™s back to camp for dinner & rest.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Tambopata - Jungle Activities

      Day 3: Tambopata - Jungle Activities

      Leaving around mid-morning, after a good hearty breakfast, youโ€™ll travel until very close to the end of the TAVARA RIVER. Here youโ€™ll be camping close to the CAMDAMO RIVER. In this part of the amazon there are no indigenous communities, itโ€™s considered virgin jungle because it is a protected area. From here youโ€™ll fish in the evening so that dinner can be made.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Tambopata - Kayaking

      Day 4: Tambopata - Kayaking

      Leaving after breakfast to the Candamo river where youโ€™ll begin to kayak down stream along the Candamo and Tavara rivers. This part of the river is very good to kayak because the river water is fast and it makes for a great kayaking trip. In the late afternoon / early evening returning to Camp.

      Day 5: Tambopata - Kayaking

      Leaving after breakfast to the Candamo river where youโ€™ll begin to kayak down stream along the Candamo and Tavara rivers. This part of the river is very good to kayak because the river water is fast and it makes for a great kayaking trip. In the late afternoon / early evening returning to Camp.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Tambopata - Jungle Activities

      Day 6: Tambopata - Jungle Activities

      Today youโ€™ll kayak for few hours, then at the mouth of the Tavara river the kayaks will be deflated and youโ€™ll take a motorized boat to go to a lodge for the last night; arriving to the lodge at around lunch time. After that youโ€™ll have the opportunity to walk through the jungle for approximately 3 hrs to visit a mammal clay lick. 

      Dinner and after this, walking to see some nocturnal animals like tarantula, night monkeys,  insects etc etc.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Return To Cusco

      After breakfast weโ€™ll leave to puerto Maldonado by boat and car
