Homestay and hotel During this tour, you will be staying at several different accommodations. You will spend three or four nights at a familyโ€™s home and three or four nights at a hotel. The homestays are hosted by ethnic people in a traditional stilt house (Tay, Dao, Thai, Mong). For the rest of the tour, you will be staying at several local hotels. Although Vietnam is a developing country and you will visit some remote places, the quality of the accommodation has improved greatly. In small towns, you will be staying at local private guesthouses. The rooms are based on twin shared and are provided with air conditioning, a private bathroom with hot water, and mosquito nets on each bed. In some locations, the local homestays are available and the sleeping arrangements are made usually in a house on stilts, all in one room. Each person will have a mattress, a pillow, and mosquito nets, and will be sharing a toilet or shower.

  • Day 1 Day 1: Hanoi โ€“ Nghia Lo- Tu Le ( L, D)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Hanoi โ€“ Nghia Lo- Tu Le ( L, D)

      8am: Our guide will pick-up you at hotel.  We also pass Nghia Lo town โ€“ the home of Thai people โ€“ one of the main ethnic people in Yen Bai. Around 2-3pm, arrive Tu Le town, you will walk around the rice fields, spring and villages, explore the life, the house, the cultureโ€ฆof Thai and Mong people.


      Ups on your health and time, you can trek the longer road through Nam Co โ€“ Nam Pang to homestay in Bung Som village, around 10km in 3,5hrs. Or shorter trek 6-7 km in 2hrs


      Summary:

      • Overnight at the homestay stilt house of Thai people in Tu Le. ( if you want a private room, we can arrange the room in a hotel)

      • ~5-7 -10 Km trekking in 2-3,5 hrs and 250 Km driving from Hanoi- Tu Le
  • Day 2 Day 2: Tu Le โ€“ Mu Cang Chai (B, L, D)

      Day 2: Tu Le โ€“ Mu Cang Chai (B, L, D)

      8 am: After breakfast, we will move to Mu Cang Chai. We will drive over the Khau Pha pass (one of the four greatest passes in Northern Vietnam, connecting Tu Le and Mu Cang Chai).  These scenic roads offer a lot of stops for picture-taking as it is the viewpoint to see the Lim Mong, Lim Thai village or paragliding-point on the top of this pass.


      When we arrive in Mu Cang Chai, we will spend around 3 hrs trekking from La Pan Tan to Rasberry Hill  โ€“ one of the most famous destinations in the country. Here, we have a round-shaped rice terrace. Everything was built by the human hand of the Hโ€™mong people over the past hundreds of years. The simple lunch will be served after go down to the main road, or if you want to try to experience the life of Hmong people, you can visit their house, cook and eat lunch with local.


      After lunch, you will continue to take the trekking from Che Cu Nha to Kim Noi village in around ~9-10 km in 3 -3,5hrs. On the way, we will go up a high mountain, pass the Hโ€™mong village and a waterfall in a remote area. Besides seeing the beauty of rice fields, youโ€™ll be guided how to plant rice, harvest rice or discover the farm working of locals. We can visit some houses or schools to explore local life and culture if that interests you.


      At the end of the trekking route leads to homestay of Thai people in Mu Cang Chai center. Enjoy dinner, warmly & hospitality of Thai people.

      • Overnight at the stilt house homestay of Thai people. ( P/s: If you want to experience sleep in homestay of Hmong people, we will arrange a night in Hello Mu Cang Chai homestay in La Pan Tan village.)

      • ~17-19 Km trekking in 5-6hrs and 50 Km driving from Tu Le โ€“ Mu Cang Chai
  • Day 3 Day 3: Mu Cang Chai โ€“Nghia Lo (B,L,D)

      Day 3: Mu Cang Chai โ€“Nghia Lo (B,L,D)

      After our breakfast, depending on the season, we can spend 1,5-2hrs trek up to Sang Nhu or Lao Chai village, where have beautiful rice terraces (attractive many photographers), trekking through the pine forests, the hidden path and enjoy the overview of Mu Cang Chai small town.


      We will transfer by car to the next trekking destination once we are finished. We will spend 3 hours trekking from Mam Xoi rice terraces to La Pan Tan village on a different way with the second day. By taking soil road through the Hโ€™mong villages and amazing rice fields, we can get a unique feel and special photos.


      When we arrive in La Pan Tan, the van will take us back to Nghia Lo town. There will be many flatter rice fields to enjoy, and we can explore the life, the homes and the culture of Thai ethnic people.

      • ~10 Km trekking in 3-4hrs and 100 Km driving from Mu Cang Chai โ€“ Nghia Lo
  • Day 4 Day 4: Nghia Lo-Hanoi (B,L)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 4: Nghia Lo-Hanoi (B,L)

      You will have 2 options:


      Option 1: Light cycling or trekking through the Thai village, springs, bridge. The roads are flat and were paved, itโ€™s a relaxing trip. The distance is about 8km in 2-2,5hrs


      Option 2: If you want to more hard activity, we will cycle up to the Tea hill, on the steep road, through the green large Tea hills, the forest and cycle down back to the homestay. It takes around 9-10km in ~3hrs.


      Come back homestay, eat lunch here before driving back to Hanoi around 6-7pm. Our guide will say their goodbyes. See you again in another journey!./.
