Mexican wrestling began in 1840, one hundred years before it became an official sport. The first wrestlingโs took place in public squares, theaters, bull rings, or any small โbox ringโ where fight demonstrations take place.
At the beginning of the 20th century, most of the wrestling promotorยดs were foreigners, for example the Italian Giovanni Resselech, who organized two wrestling seasons in 1910, another example is the Belgian Constant le Marin, who first made a presentation including a Mexican vs a Romanian wrestler in 1921. With this background and the increasing popularity of this activity, the first wrestling function was made on the โArena Mexicoโ in September 21 st of 1933, on the previously called โArena Modeloโ

However, the explosion of a powder magazine in the mid-eighteenth century, which caused serious damage in the building, led to the decision that the new palace was built on top of the hill, right on the site of an ancient chapel dedicated to San Miguel archangel.

The Latin American Tower was completed at the beginning of 1956, officially opened on April 30 of the same year, and that is how the company moved to La Torre, on the 4th to 8th floors. The rest of the office space in the tower was offered for rent. At the time of its completion, the Latin American Tower was the tallest building in Latin America. Its public viewpoint, located on the 44th floor, offers people the best view of the city.
It was designed by the Mexican architect Augusto H. รlvarez. It surpassed the Anahuac Tower and the Miguel E Abed Tower in Mexico City and the Altino Arantes skyscraper in Brazil. It was also the tallest building in the city from its construction in 1956 until 1972, when the Hotel de Mรฉxico, now the World Trade Center Tower, was completed. He also obtained the record for the highest skyscraper in the world outside of the United States.

The Museum of Tequila and Mezcal (MUTEM) Garibaldi, is part of the new cultural facilities of the Plaza Garibaldi and is a reference for the renovation of this area of โโthe Historic Center. Among its main objectives are the dissemination and promotion of the heritage and cultural identity of Mexico and the attraction of new visitors and national and foreign tourists.
The MUTEM is a dynamic and versatile cultural space in which through exhibitions, gatherings, conferences, concerts, presentations of Mexican distillates, gastronomy and other cultural manifestations seeks to enhance the culture of tequilas and mezcales with related themes.
Our main objective is to publicize the products resulting from the distillation processes of the different varieties of agave. There is a wide variety of public that seeks values, traditions and knowledge of 100% Mexican customs, where we highlight the value of products, which are of quality. On the other hand, in MUTEM you can enjoy different elements, which make important appointments as intangible heritage of Mexico and elements of national identity.
On the first floor of the building is the Museum dedicated to the production of Tequila and Mezcal, distilled beverages which have international recognition and are proudly Mexican.
On the other hand you will find the history of the Mariachi and the Garibaldi Square, a journey that takes us to the origin of our national popular culture. In this exhibition space is the collection of bottles of tequila and mezcal, which has more than 300 objects.
The museum combines various expository media to explain the processes, history and some interesting facts regarding the aforementioned issues.

Get to know how the life of Emperor Maximilian of Habsburg was behind the walls of this castle, decorated in classical European ornamentation. Walk through its halls, go through the stairs made of marble, admiring the sculptures and busts of historical figures, like the emperor Cuauhtรฉmoc and the conqueror Hernรกn Cortรฉs.
During the colonial period Chapultepec was appreciated as a place of resting and relaxation, for it was built at the top of a hill, on the foundations of what was once the residence of Moctezuma II Xocoyotzin, a palace that gave shelter to numerous viceroys and distinguished visitors for over two centuries. However, the explosion of a powder magazine in the mid-eighteenth century, which caused serious damage in the building, led to the decision that the new palace was built on top of the hill, right on the site of an ancient chapel dedicated to San Miguel archangel.
After visiting the National Museum of History, better known as the Castle of Chapultepec, youโll make a quick stop for lunch (on your own expense), and then continue to the famous National Museum of Anthropology, house of the Pre-hispanic evidence of the Mexica, Maya, Toltec and the countryโs ethnic cultures through time.
The National Museum of Anthropology remains the flagship of the enclosures that safeguard the mexican indigenous heritage. It stands as a symbol of identity and mentor to generations who are seeking their cultural roots.

The Latin American Tower was completed at the beginning of 1956, officially opened on April 30 of the same year, and that is how the company moved to La Torre, on the 4th to 8th floors. The rest of the office space in the tower was offered for rent. At the time of its completion, the Latin American Tower was the tallest building in Latin America. Its public viewpoint, located on the 44th floor, offers people the best view of the city.
It was designed by the Mexican architect Augusto H. รlvarez. It surpassed the Anahuac Tower and the Miguel E Abed Tower in Mexico City and the Altino Arantes skyscraper in Brazil. It was also the tallest building in the city from its construction in 1956 until 1972, when the Hotel de Mรฉxico, now the World Trade Center Tower, was completed. He also obtained the record for the highest skyscraper in the world outside of the United States.

The Museum of Tequila and Mezcal (MUTEM) Garibaldi, is part of the new cultural facilities of the Plaza Garibaldi and is a reference for the renovation of this area of โโthe Historic Center. Among its main objectives are the dissemination and promotion of the heritage and cultural identity of Mexico and the attraction of new visitors and national and foreign tourists.
The MUTEM is a dynamic and versatile cultural space in which through exhibitions, gatherings, conferences, concerts, presentations of Mexican distillates, gastronomy and other cultural manifestations seeks to enhance the culture of tequilas and mezcales with related themes.
Our main objective is to publicize the products resulting from the distillation processes of the different varieties of agave. There is a wide variety of public that seeks values, traditions and knowledge of 100% Mexican customs, where we highlight the value of products, which are of quality. On the other hand, in MUTEM you can enjoy different elements, which make important appointments as intangible heritage of Mexico and elements of national identity.
On the first floor of the building is the Museum dedicated to the production of Tequila and Mezcal, distilled beverages which have international recognition and are proudly Mexican.
On the other hand you will find the history of the Mariachi and the Garibaldi Square, a journey that takes us to the origin of our national popular culture. In this exhibition space is the collection of bottles of tequila and mezcal, which has more than 300 objects.
The museum combines various expository media to explain the processes, history and some interesting facts regarding the aforementioned issues.
