But soon you can actually stand in the middle of the postcard landscape! Every second, up to 6,500 cubic meters of water thunder down to a depth of 90 meters. You will visit the falls from the Brazilian side. Start at the Iguaรงu National Park Visitor Center with a drive through the lush subtropical vegetation of the park. • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Off To The Pantanal!

Via Sรฃo Paulo you fly to Cuiabรก in the west of the country. From here we make our way to Poconรฉ, the gateway to the northern Pantanal. The only way to your family-run accommodation, about 40 kilometers south of the town, leads from here along the dusty clay road "Transpantaneira". With four-wheel drive, you will drive over the dirt road into the largest inland wetland on our planet, which has been declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. Half of the year the area is completely under water and serves as an important retreat for thousands of animal and plant species. With a little luck, you may see pairs of caiman eyes peeking out of one of the water holes along the way to your accommodation.

      Meals
Breakfast and dinner are included in the price.

      Accommodation
      UeSo Pantanal Lodge
At the UeSo Pantanal Lodge you will reside about 40 kilometers south of Poconรฉ, in the middle of the Pantanal floodplain, which is famous for its biodiversity. Surrounded by an extensive garden with a variety of wildlife, the guesthouse, located on the shore of a small lake, is reminiscent of a rural ranch. Enjoy the magnificent view into the wild nature from one of the two observation towers or relax by the small pool. All rooms are equipped with private bathrooms and air-conditioning. Morning, noon and night you can look forward to local delicacies in the in-house restaurant.

      Notes
The driving distance is about 165 kilometers. The driving time is about 3 ยฝ hours.
During your stay in the Pantanal, you will be traveling in off-road vehicles instead of a tour minibus on days 4 to 7. Depending on the type of vehicle, they are licensed for 4 to 6 people.
The program in the Pantanal depends on the weather conditions and the water level. Accordingly, there may be changes to the program at short notice.
  • Day 5 Day 5: Pantanal
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 5: Pantanal

You can safely leave the alarm clock off, because in the Pantanal you will be awakened at sunrise by the calls of the birds. After breakfast, you will set off on foot, always following the mysterious sounds of nature. Have you spotted a toucan picking fruit from the palm trees? Afterwards, you will take an adventurous ride on the "Transpantaneira". But donโ€™t worry, your driver already has experience to avoid the families of capybaras hunting across the road. And not only the cute capybaras will run in front of your lens, also tuiuius, the graceful jabiru storks and large flocks of exotic water birds will cross your path. Who knows, your guide may even spot an anteater or tapir in the wild. Afterwards, we will glide almost silently over the alluvium in a rowboat and, if we are lucky, we will observe a kingfisher watching for small fish from the embankment. Once again we photograph everything and then we return to our accommodation as darkness falls. And also on this way along the "Transpantaneira" you can surely find some nocturnal animals, which now come out of their hiding places.

      Meals
The included meals today are breakfast, lunch and dinner.

      Day 6: Pantanal

Today you get up before the wake-up call of the birds. Because before breakfast we will start the sunrise foot safari. The awakening of this spectacular habitat is a real goosebump moment: the excited flute of the birds, the sleepy roar of a monkey and the first rays of sunlight flashing on the horizon - pure life and you are right in the middle of it! After so many emotions you have earned an extended siesta at the pool of your accommodation or you decide, like the Pantaneiros, to stalk through the alluvial soil on horseback. On the back of the animals you will have a new perspective and a unique opportunity to observe the flora and fauna. In the afternoon we will explore one of the nearby rivers by boat. With a little luck you can observe the playful giant otters or the majestic swamp deer. Back at the guesthouse, you will enjoy the setting evening mood with a view over the small lake at the garden. Can you still remember all the bird species you have identified for the first time in the last days?

      Notes
The driving distance is about 165 kilometers. The driving time is about 3 ยฝ hours.
The boat that will take you from Manaus to the rainforest lodge tomorrow has a limited capacity. Therefore, we ask you to bring no more than 5 to 10 kilograms of luggage per person. You can lock up your main luggage in Manaus. Please pack a small, light bag or backpack for the three days in the Amazon. Remember to bring rain protection because Tariri Lodge excursions use open canoes. Depending on the time of year, the Amazon may experience surprise rain showers.
  • Day 8 Day 8: Manaus And Drive To The Amazon Region
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 8: Manaus And Drive To The Amazon Region

In the morning your plane leaves for the tropical northwest of the country. Manaus - the city in the middle of the rainforest is the starting point for your adventure. You explore the market of Manaus and start your jungle adventure. The Amazon region is more than four times the size of Germany and home to a million species of animals and plants. With a little luck you will be accompanied by curious river dolphins on your boat ride to your accommodation. In the early afternoon you will reach your accommodation in the Amazon. Welcome to nowhere, far away from skyscrapers, noise and crowded streets. What you will hear and see here in the coming days is pure nature. After dinner you will go on a night boat trip to observe caimans. The moon and the stars will light your way.

      Meals
The included meals consist of a breakfast box, lunch and dinner.

      Accommodation
      Tariri Amazon Lodge
At Tariri Amazon Lodge you will reside in the middle of the Amazon jungle on Lake Acajatuba, near the Rio Negro river. To accommodate the varying water levels, the ten rustic chalets are built on stilts. When you are gently awakened in the morning by the sounds of the rainforest, the jungle is right in front of you. The architecture of the Eco-Lodge is based on the construction of the huts that the locals have been building here for centuries. Enjoy the magnificent view of the wild nature while swinging in your hammock. For lunch and dinner you can look forward to local delicacies in the restaurant and have a great view of the lake. Afterwards, the jungle bar awaits you with refreshing drinks. Your hostess Fabiola and host Germano are looking forward to letting you in on the secrets of the jungle.

Depending on the water level, you may have to walk a few meters from the pier to the entrance of the accommodation.
The Tariri Amazon Lodge is simple but very authentic, so your stay here will be a very special experience. The local staff will go to great lengths to make your stay enjoyable. Since the lodge is located in the middle of the jungle, it may happen that there is no hot water in the rooms at times. However, the water is always lukewarm, as the average temperature in the Amazon is 28ยฐC and the sun heats the water pipes. The lodge usually has electricity 24 hours a day (110 volts).
