Accommodation

Seven nights of accommodation in Oban, Skye, Inverness and Stornoway are included. The accommodation is in good quality Bed and Breakfasts, with single occupancy, double and twin rooms available. All accommodation includes breakfast, and a private bathroom.

      Through the Trossachs to Oban...

      Our wide-ranging tour starts by heading west through the beautiful scenery of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park to Kilmartin Glen. Here youโ€™ll explore Scotlandโ€™s ancient past. With over 5,000 years of history laid out before you, youโ€™ll be able to walk in the footsteps of the first Scots at Dunadd Hill Fort and the Temple Wood Stone Circle. Then itโ€™s on to the picturesque seaside town of Oban, home to Scotlandโ€™s best seafood!

      Gruesome Glens and the Hogwarts Express...

      Day two takes you over the Connel Bridge through Appin to the haunting landscape of Glen Coe (scene of the terrible massacre of the MacDonald Clan). Weโ€™ll stop in Fort William: a town dominated by Ben Nevis - the UKโ€™s tallest peak, then you jump aboard the Hogwarts Express for this stunning train journey (subject to status of the Jacobite Steam Train, we will then have time in Mallaig before we will board a ferry over to the Isle of Skye.

  • Day 3 Explore The Isle Of Skye

      Explore The Isle Of Skye

      A whole day to explore Skye...

      Youโ€™ll have the whole of the third day to explore Skyeโ€™s mysteries and landscape. Here the mountains and beaches beckon, so loose yourself amongst the Cuillin mountains, visit the black houses, take in the spectacular scenery of the Kilt rock waterfall, the Old Man of Storr and the Trotternish Peninsula, including a visit to the capital of the island, Portree.

  • Day 4 Isle Of Skye To Inverness

      Isle Of Skye To Inverness

      Weโ€™ll leave Skye and head straight to Scotlandโ€™s most photographed castle, Eilean Donan* which youโ€™ll have ample time to explore. We will then head towards Loch Ness - the worldโ€™s most famous Loch. Here you will enjoy exploring Urquhart Castle and then a boat cruise on the Loch (optional extra).

  • Day 5 Inverness To Stornoway

      North to Lewis and Harris...

      Journey through some beautiful and remote scenery of Sutherland as you make your way towards the morning ferry.  You will arrive in the beautiful seaside town of Ullapool, perched on the shores of Loch Broom. Known to be one of the gateways to the Northern Highlands, Ullapool is one of the least spoilt natural environments in the UK, making it a perfect base to explore from and also the perfect location to catch the ferry. There will be some great lunch options available on the ferry for you to enjoy as you sail out past the Summer Isles and onwards to the outer Hebrides.  


      You will begin exploring the Isle of Lewis as you arrive on the island, visiting Arnol Blackhouse, a traditional fully furnished thatched house, and gain an insight into island life.  Your afternoon will end in Stornoway, the largest settlement in the Western Isles and your base for exploring the Isle of Lewis and Harris.

  • Day 6 Explore The Isles Of Lewis & Harris

      Ancient history and traditional tweed...

      Stornoway is the largest settlement in the Western Isles and your base for exploring the Isle of Lewis and Harris.  The day features visits to the ancient Callanish Standing Stones and Carloway Broch, an exceptionally well-preserved Iron Age structure located above Loch an Duin. Youโ€™ll also have a chance to stroll some of the islandโ€™s stunning beaches and find out more about Harris Tweed cloth when you visit a traditional weaver.

      Youโ€™ll visit the main port, Tarbert, then youโ€™ll travel a little west to look across the beautiful Sound of Taransay to the island made famous by the BBCโ€™s Castaway programme. Here youโ€™ll have the chance to stroll along what is arguably Harrisโ€™ most beautiful beach, Lusekentyre.

  • Day 7 Stornoway To Inveness
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Stornoway To Inveness

      Today youโ€™ll head to the far north of the island to visit the Butt of Lewis lighthouse, the windiest place in the UK. Youโ€™ll return to Stornoway for lunch, before setting sail again for the journey back to the mainland.

  • Day 8 Inverness To Edinburgh

      Historic battlefields and home.

      As you head home from Inverness, youโ€™ll be able to visit the battlefield of Culloden*, the site of the defeat of the Jacobite forces. Enjoy a wee dram at a local distillery*. Youโ€™ll also pass the stunning Cairngorm mountains and explore the picturesque town of Pitlochry.
