As you arrive at the airport, one of our friendly Asian Heritage Treks & Travel representatives will be waiting for you with a sign with your name. You will then be quickly dropped off at your hotel. Along the way, you’ll see iconic landmarks such as the Open Cremation Place (Pashupatinath Temple), the Royal Palace Museum (Narayanhity), and the tranquil Garden of Dreams, all before arriving in Thamel.

Your hotel, conveniently located in downtown, puts you right in the heart of the tourist district. Once settled, our representative will be available to answer any questions and go over your travel plans. Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of time to explore Thamel’s vibrant streets at your leisure.

Day 2 Koshi Tappu National Park

After breakfast, our guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you to Koshi Tappu National Park. This wildlife reserve, located in the Terai region of eastern Nepal, covers 175 square kilometers (68 square miles) and is known for its diverse wetlands in Sunsari, Saptari, and Udayapur districts. It has vast mudflats, reed beds, and freshwater marshes along the floodplain of the Sapta Kosi River, with elevations ranging from 75 to 81 meters (246 to 266 feet). You will go on a full-day jeep excursion through the reserve to see the fascinating wildlife.

Today, we will take you on a scenic drive to Ilam, a stunning hill station in eastern Nepal. Ilam is well-known for its tea, and the grass-covered hillsides are dotted with picturesque tea gardens. It’s the ideal escape from city life, with opportunities for breathtaking sunrise and sunset views, leisurely walks through the tea gardens, peaceful picnics, and scenic sightseeing. You can also go on short hikes along gentle slopes to enjoy the natural beauty.

Antu Danda, located at an elevation of 1677 meters in Ilam District, is one of the city’s highlights. This location is well-known for its breathtaking views of Everest and Kanchenjunga, making it an excellent vantage point for watching stunning sunrises and sunsets. There is also a motor road connecting Ilam and Chhipitar, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a scenic hike through the lush green hills for about 3 hours.
