After breakfast drive to Anuradhapura
The ruins of Anuradhapura are one of South Asiaโs most evocative sights. The sprawling complex contains a rich collection of archaeological and architectural wonders: enormous dagobas (brick stupas), ancient pools and crumbling temples, built during Anuradhapuraโs thousand years of rule over Sri Lanka. Stop At: Polonnaruwa, Polonnaruwa, North Central Province
After your breakfast visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa which was a royal capital of both the Chola and Sinhalese kingdoms for three centuries. Todayโs archaeological park is a delight to explore, with hundreds of ancient structures, temples and statues
Next go for a village tour in beautiful Hiriwadunna Village. Experience travelling on a bullock cart, a walk in the paddy fields and a boat ride to get to the village. Have a delicious authentic Sri Lankan lunch cooked in a village home
