  • Day 1 Day 1: Colombo - Sigiriya

      Day 1: Colombo - Sigiriya

      Welcome to Sri Lanka! You will be met at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo by your driver who will transfer you to your hotel in Sigiriya. This 4 hour drive from the west coast of Sri Lanka to central Sri Lanka takes you north through the beautiful cities of Kurunegala and Galewela where you can stop to enjoy the countryside views. If you arrive early you will be able to explore the city discovering Sri Lankaโ€™s charm on your first day. Your driver will take you to your hotel where you will spend the night.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Sigiriya

      Day 2: Sigiriya

      Spend a leisurely morning at your hotel in Sigiriya, exploring the surrounding areas and enjoying your hotel facilities. Sigiriya is home to one of Sri Lankaโ€™s most valuable historical monuments, The Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The Rock Fortress is the Eighth Wonder of The World and in the afternoon your chauffeur-guide will take you to the site to see explore the fortress and palace remains at sunset. Climb the rock fortress with a guide to reach the peak for sunset and see the sky come to life in different shades of orange as the sun sets of over beautiful Sri Lanka.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Sigiriya โ€“ Minneriya โ€“ Sigiriya

      Your day today begins with a delicious breakfast at your hotel before being taken to the incredible Minneriya National Park where you will begin a Safari Jeep Tour through the beautiful grounds. Minneriya National Park is home to over 25 species of mammals including the magnificent Sri Lankan elephants, monkeys, Sri Lankan Sambar Deer, and if youโ€™re lucky you may catch a glimpse of the beautiful leopard, which is an endangered species. In the evening your driver will meet you to take you back to your hotel in Sigiriya for the night.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Sigiriya โ€“ Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya

      Day 4: Sigiriya โ€“ Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya

      Spend the morning at your hotel enjoying the facsilities or instead exploring the local surroundings, visiting the traditional shops and meeting the lovely locals. In the midafternoon your driver will meet you at your hotel to the Royal City of Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka and is made up of the monumental ruins of the garden-city which as created by Parakramabahu I in the 12 century. Polonnaruwa is one of Sri Lankaโ€™s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After an afternoon of exploration return to your hotel in Sigiriya for dinner.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Sigiriya โ€“ Anuradhapura - Sigiriya

      In the morning after a leisurely breakfast your driver will meet you to take you to Anuradhapura, the Ancient City of Sri Lanka. Anuradhapura is the capital city of North Central Province and is famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sri Lankan civilization. The ancient city is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and today you can discover and explore the beautiful ruins, transporting yourself back in time on a guided tour. Return to Sigiriya city centre for dinner before returning to your hotel for the night.

      Enjoy a leisurely morning at your hotel today. After breakfast your driver will meet you to transfer you to Kandy. Travelling into central Sri Lanka by road, your will pass through a number of villages and towns that truly depict life in Sri Lanka. The further south you travel and the deeper into central Sri Lanka you drive, the denser the islandโ€™s greenery becomes. Stop for a delicious lunch before continuing onwards. Reach Kandy and check in to hotel. You have the rest of the day at leisure.

      Begin your morning at a leisurely pace, enjoying the gentle atmosphere that Kandy offers. After breakfast your driver will be ready to take you to the iconic Temple of The Tooth, a Buddhist temple located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy. The Temple of The Tooth houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha and it has been for many years that this relic has played an important role in local politics. After exploring Kandy and enjoying dinner in town, your driver will take you back to your hotel.

      Day 8: Kandy โ€“ Nuwara Eliya

      Spend the morning at your hotel before being met by your driver who will take you to the Kandy Train Station where you will board your train to Nuwara Eliya, into the Sri Lankan Tea Country. This train journey takes your south, passing through beautiful landscapes of lush greenery and misty mountains. Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya you will be transferred to your colonial hotel for the rest of the day. Enjoy exploring the hotel grounds and nearby tea plantations before dinner..

  • Day 9 Day 9: Nuwara Eliya โ€“ Horton Plains โ€“ Nuwara Eliya

      Day 9: Nuwara Eliya โ€“ Horton Plains โ€“ Nuwara Eliya

      In the morning after breakfast you will visit a tea factory and learn about the tea trade and you will even have the opportunity to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of tea with the hard workers. From here you will head to Horton Plains and cruise around this magnificent national park, taking in the beautiful landscapes and spotting animals. Enjoy lunch at Horton Plains before heading to visit the Hakgala Botnaical Gardens and Seetha Amman Temple. Return to your hotel in the evening for dinner.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Nuwara Eliya โ€“ Ella โ€“ Nuwara Eliya

      After breakfast your driver will meet you at your hotel to take you to Ella. This journey takes you past lush greenery and beautiful landscapes rushing by either side. If youโ€™re one for landscape photography we recommend make sure you stop whenever you like to document your journey. Upon arrival in Ella you will can go hike at Little Adamโ€™s Peak, visit Ella Rock, explore the Ella Spice Garden or visit the Ravana Ella Falls before returning to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

      Day 11: Nuwara Eliya โ€“ Galle

      For the early risers, enjoy a final sunrise in Nuwara Eliya before breakfast and then transferring to Galle on the west coast of Sri Lanka. This 5 hour journey takes you through some of the most beautiful spots in Sri Lanka, passing through small villages and lush greenery. Be sure to ask your chauffeur-guide to stop wherever you like to capture and absorb those special moments. Drive onwards to Galle where you can spend the evening exploring the city and enjoying a traditional Sri Lankan dinner before heading to your hotel for the night.

      After breakfast you will be taken into the city to begin a guided city tour, taking you to many sites including the Galle Fort which is located in the Bay of Galle. The Galle Fort was first built by the Portuguese in 1588 and then fortified by the Dutch in the 17th century. To this day this fort maintains a polished appearance and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since it โ€œillustrates the interaction of European architecture and South Asian traditionsโ€. Return to your hotel after spending the day in Galle.

  • Day 13 Day 13: Galle

      Day 13: Galle

      In the morning you will wake to the smell of sea breeze and perhaps even the sounds of crashing waves. For those that want to spend the day relaxing on white sand beaches and swimming and snorkelling in crystal clear waters we recommend heading to Unawatuna Bay for a day of seaside fun and relaxation. For those looking for something a bit different a cycling tour of the city and the surrounding villages can be organized, or even a whale and dolphin watching trip!

  • Day 14 Day 14: Galle - Colombo

      Day 14: Galle - Colombo

      Depending on your departure time you may have the time to spend the morning at your hotel and even exploring some more of Galle. Whatever the time, your driver will meet you and take you to the airport in Colombo for your departure flight. If you prefer, your driver can take you to Colombo earlier in the day to explore the capital city before boarding your flight home. We bid you farewell and look forward to travelling with you in Asia again soon.
