Day 1: Calama Airport– San Pedro De Atacama – Half Day Moon Valley

Arrival in Calama. Reception at the Calama Airport and transfer to the selected hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. At the afternoon, Your day trip from San Pedro de Atacama begins with hotel pickup.

During the tour you will enjoy the extravagant forms of the landscape, we will visit salt extraction mines and we will ascend a dune with an Incredible view of the environment, which will make you feel like walking on the lunar surface. As the afternoon passes, we will visit the Ckari viewpoint, where you will enjoy unbeatable views of the Andes Mountains and its volcanoes. At sunset they will appear on the desert the golden and red tones, a really overwhelming panorama, while we enjoy an appetizing cocktail along with this show. Simply an unforgettable excursion for all visitor.

After getting marvelled by the colors and the majesty of the desert, enjoying the sunset , we will begin our trip back to San Pedro de Atacama. (accommodation included).

We will travel to the west of San Pedro de Atacama to meet the Cordillera de Domeyko, a spectacular formation that coexists in parallel to Los Andes. First we will visit the sector of Yerbas Buenas, of great historical relevance for its rock art, since it has one of the most important groups of petroglyphs in the region. The tour will transport us to the time of the indigenous caravans, adding historical and cultural value to the experience.

Then, and crossing Matancilla, a sector rich in flora and fauna, we will find the Valley of the Rainbow, named for the variety of tonalities that can be seen in the surrounding hills: earth, reddish, brown, green, white and yellow colors , which combined with the white salts and the blue sky, make up a unique place.Then we will visit the viewpoint where we will contemplate the Rainbow Canyon where we will enjoy the landscapes that the desert gives to us, includying the cultural and geographic history behind of these places

After our incredible experience in between the geographic and cultural history of Atacama, we will return our trip back to San Pedro de Atacama. The drop off will be at the same point as where you were picked up or at the town square (accommodation and breakfast are included).

Day 3: San Pedro De Atacama – Full Day Altiplanic Lagoons, Atacama Salt Flat & Red Stones

Visit the Atacama Salt Flat and its neighboring villages and attractions on this day trip from San Pedro de Atacama with a local guide. We will begin this excursion having breakfast in the Tambillo forest, a particular forest of a tree called Tamarugo that grows in the middle of the desert. Then we will visit the Chaxa lagoon, located in the Salar de Atacama, a lagoon of spectacular beauty that is divided into several mirrors of water, where a large number of flamingos live, the largest salt flat in Chile, where the flamingos national reserve is located. We will visit the Chaxa lagoon to observe the types of flamingos, as well as other species that inhabit the lagoons of the to Salt. Then we will go through the towns of Toconao and Socaire, towns built with stone of volcanic origin. for later arrive at Los Flamencos National Reserve, where we will visit the altiplanic lagoons, two lagoons over 4,000 meters high at the foot of two large volcanoes, and finally the Salar de Aguas Calientes, a salt flat with beautiful contrasts of turquoise and calypso colors, and next to the Piedras Rojas viewpoint, a stone platform that owes its name to its reddish color product of iron oxidation.

Day 4: San Pedro De Atacama – Full Day Geysers Del Tatio And Machuca – Out

Don’t miss this early morning tour to El Tatio geyser field, one of San Pedro de Atacama’s most popular surrounding attractions and one of the biggest geothermal fields in the world with more than 80 geyers. With a local guide.The hotel pickup is included from the Hotels located nearby San Pedro de Atacama urban zone. We will drive north of San Pedro de Atacama to El Tatio, an approximate 1.5- to 2-hour trip.

The El Tatio Geyser Field stands just over 14,000 feet above sea level in the Andes Mountains of northern Chile and getting there is half the fun. You’ll travel up windy scenic mountain roads surrounded by snow-covered active and dormant volcanic peaks along the way. Magma beneath the surface acts to heat an underground source of water resulting in an explosive release of pressure.

Your arrival at the geyser field coincides with the rising sun, which gives the geysers their most spectacular appearance. In the cold, early morning air of sunrise, each geyser is topped with a white column of steam that disappears when the temperature warms up. You have about two hours to walk around the field, marveling at the geothermal wonders and taking pictures. Then enjoy a light breakfast that typically includes a ham and cheese sandwich, biscuit, fruit, juice, tea and coffee.

On our return trip we will visit the Machuca bofedales, a body of water with slow flow, which is a niche for flora and fauna, we will see various birds, including flamingos, and some that another vicuna. This bofedal owes its name to the town of Machuca, an Atacameño town, which We will see on the way, barely twenty houses made of adobe, straw and cactus wood. We will also visit the Putana bog, a nesting place for various migratory birds and a point observation of the incredible view of the plateau, the mountain ranges and volcanoes in the background.

Finally, make the drive back to San Pedro de Atacama, where your tour ends with drop-off at the ciuity center around midday. Remember that this trip takes approximately 3 hours to get back to San Pedro de Atacama.Then, a transfer will be picking you up to transport you to the Calama airport to board your flight.
