      Day 1: Arrive Cairo

      Welcome to Cairo, one of the worldโ€™s most sprawling and exotic cities where minarets outnumber skyscrapers. We will meet you at the airport and take you directly to your luxurious hotel, set along the famous Corniche on the banks of the mighty Nile. Celebrate the beginning of your adventure this evening with a welcome dinner, the perfect chance to get to know fellow travellers.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Cairo

      Day 2: Cairo

      An Aladdinโ€™s cave of Egyptโ€™s most famous artefacts are all housed within the ornate walls of Cairoโ€™s Egyptian Museum. Come face to face with the reverent beauty of Tutankhamenโ€™s gold mask and be humbled by the immortal inhabitants of the royal mummy rooms. After lunch, choose your Freedom of Choice experience. Finish your day like the locals, taking in the colours and bustle of Khan Al Khalili Grand Bazaar or the Tent Makers Bazaar.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Abu Simbel, Aswan

      Day 3: Abu Simbel, Aswan

      Bid a temporary farewell to Cairo to continue your Egyptian explorations further south. Fly across the Nubian desert to the town of Abu Simbel. Here, carved into a soaring mountainside, youโ€™ll discover the World Heritage-Listed temples dedicated to Ramesses II and his beloved Nefertari which date back to the 13th century BC. Continue on to the laidback southern city of Aswan where tonightโ€™s accommodation is the legendary Old Cataract Hotel. The grounds of this restored 19th century Victorian Palace, set between the pink-granite of the edge of the desert and a magnificent blue-expanse of the Nile is the perfect place to watch the sunset.

      Day 4: Embark Oberoi Philae, Aswan

      Your river ship is docked and waiting for you at the port in Aswan. After settling in and enjoying lunch in the dining room, perhaps venture off board to discover more about this region and its culture and traditions. A motor boat is available to take you to the impressive Nubian Museum complex which is located on a towering clifftop.This evening enjoy a special cocktail reception and dinner on board.

      Youโ€™ll be tempted to wake early this morning to witness an authentic Egyptian dawn as the rising sun casts a shimmering glow on the Nile. The modern world of engineering feats beckons with a visit to Aswan High Dam, the biggest in Egypt, which collects water from Lake Nasser, one of the worldโ€™s largest artificial lakes. Along the banks of the Nile, remnants of ancient civilisations blur the lines between the past and the present. Immerse yourself back in ancient times on the charming island of Agilika where you pay homage to the goddess Isis at the relocated Philae Temple. Later visit the twin temples of Kom Ombo shared by the gods Sobek and Horus.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Edfu, Essna, Luxor

      Day 6: Edfu, Essna, Luxor

      This morning visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to Horus the falcon god, regarded as the best preserved temple of the ancient world. This afternoon your ship sails on to the ancient city of Essna, crossing the Essna lock. Time onboard can be as luxurious and relaxing as you like. From tea in the club lounge, to drinks on deck, spa treatments, or delicious dining, a view of the mighty Nile is never more than a glance away. This evening your ship will dock in the ancient city of Luxor.

      Day 7: Luxor, Valley Of The Kings

      Todayโ€™s exciting adventures will see you delve deep into Egyptology. On the West Bank and the Valley of the Kings, youโ€™ll explore tombs constructed for notable pharaohs including Tutankhamun and Ramesses VI. Later, visit the magnificent memorial temple of Medinet Habu and the massive stone Colossus of Memnon. Later, explore the East Bank, an area that has been home to three different religions over the centuries. There are temples to each creed still standing on the riverbanks. The dedication to faith of Luxorโ€™s earliest residents is revealed at the fascinating ancient archaeological sites of Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple.

      Day 8: Cairo

      Today youโ€™ll fly back to Cairo and check in to your hotel. This evening youโ€™ll be treated to the spectacular Sound and Light show projected onto the pyramids.

      Day 9: Cairo, Pyramids Of Giza, Memphis, Sakkara

      An incredible salute to all things Egyptian is yours to be enjoyed today. At the Giza pyramid complex, the known intricacies of the oldest remaining Seven Wonders of the World will be revealed. Youโ€™ll be able to touch and explore the Great Pyramid of Giza and get incredible views of the Sphinx. Later, wander through the ruins of Memphis, the ancient capital, and Sakkara, an early burial site, and see the worldโ€™s oldest stone pyramid.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Amman

      Day 10: Amman

      Today youโ€™ll bid adieu to Egypt and transfer to the airport for your flight to the Jordanian capital, Amman. During the drive to your luxurious hotel, soak up the amazing atmosphere of this cosmopolitan city where modern architecture and crumbling ruins exist side by side. Thereโ€™ll be much anticipatory chatter about the Jordanian adventures ahead during a welcome dinner at the hotel this evening.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Amman, Jerash

      Day 11: Amman, Jerash

      Your discovery of the Kingdom of Jordan will begin by combing the sprawling ruins of Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman provincial cities in the Middle East. Youโ€™ll enjoy lunch in a local restaurant then have time to explore the bustling centre of Amman. Originally built around seven hills, Amman has continued to expand and offers spectacular views at every turn. Visit the Roman Theatre and Citadel and soak up the old meets new city atmosphere with a guided walking tour of the historic centre.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Mt Nebo, Madaba, Petra

      Day 12: Mt Nebo, Madaba, Petra

      Set off early this morning on a road trip down the 5,000 year old Kingโ€™s Highway towards Petra. En route sightseeing stops will include Mount Nebo, with its spectacular views over the Jordan Valley, the place where its is believed Moses had his last view over the Holy Land. Youโ€™ll also see one of the oldest maps in the world, the Christian mosaics of Madaba, which is a 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land. Afterwards, arrive into Petra.

      Day 13: Petra

      Today youโ€™ll explore the legendary Petra, the rose-red city built from the rock face, with awe-inspiring temples, tombs and caves. Walk through the Siq, winding your way through the canyon with 80 metre walls soaring either side, a location you may recognise from the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Youโ€™ll also see The Treasury, which is the first historical building within the site, and The Monastery, a huge carved temple reached by 800 steps. Over 2,000 years old, this incredible site has been occupied by various civilisations throughout the centuries.

  • Day 14 Day 14: Little Petra, Wadi Rum

      Day 14: Little Petra, Wadi Rum

      Set off towards Al Beida or Little Petra, thought to be one of the first settled villages in human history. Continue through the amazing desert landscape to Wadi Rum where youโ€™ll join a jeep ride with a local Bedouin exploring all of the hidden sites of the desert.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Wadi Rum, Dead Sea

      Day 15: Wadi Rum, Dead Sea

      Our desert trek continues on today, looping back towards Amman and on to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. Actually an enormous inland salt lake of over 600 square kilometres, the Dead Sea is nearly ten times saltier than the ocean. The water and mud are full of minerals, and the air is oxygen-rich. One of the worldโ€™s first ever health resort areas, it has attracted visitors for thousands of years.

      Today is yours to relax and rejuvenate at your beautiful Dead Sea resort. Perhaps, join in the fun and read the paper or sip a drink whilst effortlessly floating in the buoyant water. This evening we celebrate all we have seen, heard and learned on this fascinating journey with a farewell dinner.
