Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Stop At: Uganda Equator, Masaka Road, Kayabwe Uganda
Your 5 days Bwindi Impenetrable National Parkโ Mgahinga Gorilla National Park Uganda gorillas safari will start with an English-speaking driver who doubles as your guide picking you from a suitable location within Kampala. You will then embark on a drive to the prized Bwindi Impenetrable National Park โ the home of the Uganda gorillas. Your experienced guide will take the Kampala โ Ntungamo โ Rukungiri โ kihihi โ Buhoma route. This is regarded as the quickest and most direct route to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You will make a brief stop at the equator in Kayabwe, about 72 km from Kampala city. While at the equator, you will have a chance to see the imaginary line that divides the world into two equal halves. You can choose to stand at this point with one of your feet in the northern hemisphere and the other foot in the southern hemisphere.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking excursion in Bwindi โ Batwa trail experience
Stop At: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Western Region
On the second day of your Uganda gorillas safari, you will have an early breakfast and then head out to the park headquarters at around 7:00 am. You will be briefed about the โdosโ and โdonโtsโ while on a gorilla trekking excursion. You will then hit the trails with a team of professional guides and trackers. A typical gorilla trekking excursion lasts between 2 โ 8 hours. Hiking through the beaten trails in search of the potent giants is exerting but greatly rewarding. The hours you spend searching through the vast forest are not boring; you get to encounter a variety of mammal, primate and bird species as well as noteworthy floral and plant life.
Once you encounter a gorilla family, you will spend an hour observing its members; how the domineering male silver-back (head of the family) displays his authority and ability. He huffs, grunts, roars and walks about his territory with an air of authority. Besides other males, you will also see the caring mothers tending to their little ones; feeding some, rubbing a few, carrying others and keeping a watchful eye on those playing in the trees. You will be allowed to take photos and recordings of the experience.
You can have your packed lunch before or after your gorilla trekking expedition. As the afternoon wanes, you will embark on the โBatwa trail experienceโ. This includes visiting the community where the Batwa โ native forest dwellers live. You will observe and get a chance to engage in their daily routine; brewing local beers, preparing medicinal herbs, cooking the evening meals, as well as their song and dance performances. Your dayโs Uganda gorillas excursion will end when you choose to retire to your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park โ Nature Trail and Birding excursion
Stop At: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Western Region
After having breakfast, you will embark on a transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The park is located in Kisoro district in the far South-western Uganda. Mgahinga lies amidst the Virunga Mountains and the Albertine rift montane forests eco region. Besides Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is the only other place in Uganda where mountain gorillas can be trekked. A Uganda gorillas safari excursion is incomplete without visiting Mgahinga.
When you arrive at Mgahinga, you will have lunch and then go for a nature and birding excursion. Though it is Uganda's smallest National Park, Mgahinga is endowed with an innumerable number of wildlife species including various primate and bird species. After the days activities, you will retire for dinner and overnight at your choice accommodation.

Day 4: Golden Monkey trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Stop At: Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Western Region
After having breakfast, you will report at the park headquarters to have a briefing before you can embark on your Golden Monkey trekking excursion. You will be briefed concerning the golden monkey trekking etiquette; you are for instance not allowed to smoke or take photos using a flash light while in the presence of gorillas. After the briefing, you will hit one of the trail heads with a team of professional guides and trackers.

On the last day of your Bwindi โ Mgahinga Uganda gorillas safari tour, you will have breakfast and then check out of your lodge, embarking on a return drive to Kampala โ Ugandaโs capital. Your drive back will not be a boring one, you will enjoy the spectacular view of the massive greenery spread across an expanse of rolling hills, the cattle grazing, as well as the locals tending to their daily routines โ you will enjoy the splendid view of a typical countryside life.
Once you arrive in Kampala, your guide will drop you at a location of your choice. If you have a flight to catch, your guide will drive you to Entebbe airport on time. This will mark the end of your splendid 5 days Bwindi โ Mgahinga Uganda gorillas safari expedition.
