      In the early morning you will drive towards Ayutthaya (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam. On the way, you will stop at the Bang-Pa-In Summer Palace. This royal retreat combines various architectural styles. The temple area of Ayutthaya resembles an open-air museum of Buddhist high culture. Temples, monasteries, palaces and monumental sculptures still bear witness to the early splendor. In the afternoon, you will drive to a small family business that produces a Thai-Muslim dessert specialty: Roti Sai Mai. These rolled sweets are made of crispy sugar threads wrapped in a fragrant pandan crepe. 1 night in Ayutthaya. (B/A)

      Day 4: Khao Yai National Park

      Today you will drive to Khao Yai National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The park is a paradise for wildlife. Enjoy the approx. two-hour hike through the forest in the company of rangers, who will introduce you to the ecology of the rainforest and a great variety of exotic plants. With a little luck, you will see gibbons, elephants, deer or macaques, among others. After the hike, have lunch with a local family before continuing to the hotel. 1 night in Korat. (B/M)

      Day 5: Prasat Hin Phanom Rung

      You will visit the pottery village of Dan Kwian, where pottery and ceramics have been produced for generations. In the small community of Charoen Suk in Buriram, you will learn more about the dyeing of cotton threads. The province of Buriram is known for its orange-colored fabrics, which are naturally dyed from volcanic rock. The tour continues to Prasat Hin Phanom Rung, probably the most impressive and most important Khmer temple in Thailand. Finally, you will visit the temple in Muang Tam, which is located at the foot of the Phanom Rung hill. 1 night in Nang Rong. (F)

      On the way to Cambodia, you will visit Ta Muen, a group of temples that are hardly visited by tourists. In the silk weaving village Baan Tha Sawang you will get an insight into the work with the very fine, naturally dyed silk threads. In the afternoon you will visit Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew, also known as Wat Larn Kuad (Temple of a Million Bottles). The resourceful monks of this temple demonstrate that discarded glass bottles can be recycled in more ways than one. Your trip ends today in Khong Jiam, where you will spend the next two nights. 2 nights there. (F)

      Day 7: Gong Production Center

      Today you will start with the visit of Wat Thung Si Muang, especially famous for the replica of a Buddha footprint and the wooden Tripitaka library called Ho Trai. Furthermore, you will visit the gong production center of Ubon Ratchathani. Gongs of all sizes are made here. In the late afternoon, you will explore a long cliff called Pha Taem, the heart of the impressive Pha Taem National Park. From the top, youโ€™ll have breathtaking views across the Mekong River into Laos, and below, a trail leads you past prehistoric rock paintings. (F)

      Today you will cross the border into Laos and continue your journey towards Pakse. Pakse is the third largest city in Laos, capital of Champasak Province, and the most important trading center in southern Laos. 1 night in Pakse. (F)

  • Day 9 Day 9: Wat Phou Temple

      Day 9: Wat Phou Temple

      Today you will explore Wat Phou Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site), one of the best preserved relics of the Khmer period. After the visit, you will continue to the south of Laos, where the Mekong River fans out into four thousand islands in an inland delta. The islands are mostly inhabited and the Laotians live here from fishing, boat building and rice cultivation. By boat you will reach Don Khone Island, the largest island of the inland delta. 2 nights on Don Khone. (F)

      Today on Don Khone Island, discover not only the colonial relics of French rule in the form of a narrow-gauge railroad, but also the first main branch of the remarkable Mekong Falls, the Li Phi Waterfalls. (B/M)

      Day 11: Drive To Cambodia

      Today you will say goodbye to Laos and cross the border into Cambodia. On the way you will visit the impressive Khone Phapheng Falls, also known as the "Niagara of Asia". After sightseeing, you will continue into Cambodia towards Saem, where you will spend the next night. 1 night in Saem. (F/M/A)

      Day 12: Prasat Preah Vihear

      Early in the morning you will drive to Preah Vihear Temple. The construction of Preah Vihear was completed in the early 12th century by King Surayavarman II, the same king who was responsible for Angkor Wat, Beng Mealea and Wat Phu in South Laos. On the way to Siem Reap, you will visit Koh Ker Temple. It is one of the most important temple complexes, which was submerged in the jungle for many years and was only recently uncovered. 2 nights in Siem Reap. (B/M)

  • Day 13 Day 13: Angkor Wat

      Day 13: Angkor Wat

      Today you will dive into the former Khmer Empire! You will visit Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire. It was built in the 12th century. Impressive are among others the smiling face towers of the Bayon Temple, the Baphuon Temple, the Elephant Terrace as well as the Terrace of the Leper King. Afterwards, Ta Phrom Temple awaits you, wildly overgrown with trees and roots in the jungle. In the afternoon, the highlight of Cambodia awaits you - the famous temple complex of Angkor Wat (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Be enchanted by the atmosphere and architecture! (F)

      In the morning you will drive to the famous Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. You will take an unforgettable boat ride to a nearby floating village and get an insight into the daily life of the locals who live in floating huts. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey towards Phnom Penh. En route, stop to visit the Kampong Kdei Bridge, once the longest stone arch bridge in the world. 2 nights in Phnom Penh. (F)

      Today is dedicated to sightseeing in Phnom Penh. Among other things, discover the Royal Palace with its majestic Silver Pagoda and learn about the history of Cambodia at the National Museum.
